Dakota could see the amount of people beginning to come to the Great Lake, and wasn’t sure if he regretted coming here in the first place. well perhaps this was a good way to make friends-plus, Evan and Mary seemed nice so why not these people too? He nodded in response and went back to smiling, “Heh, I never thought about that before. Well, if everyone says the Sorting Hat is never wrong then it must be true!” He exclaimed, letting out a soft chuckle from Evan’s badger statement.
He tried his best to keep following what he was saying, forcing himself to not look down because of shyness, and keep smiling kindly-he shouldn’t worry about any bullying or teasing as of now. It was quite easy anyway listening to fast-talkers, he listened more than he talked-and that was a fact. Maybe he just needed to follow his grandmother’s advice and say what he needed to say after five seconds of thinking passed. “Me too! I’m sure I can get along with anyone who’s as nice as you!” He replied, winking at him teasingly, “I won’t let this confident lion in me eat up a badger like you.”
He then turned to the Slytherin girl that had spoken up, his eyes widening a bit. In his mind, he thought that he would start getting teased and insulted, but noticing the girl’s nervous stature, he forced himself to give her a chance. “Nice too meet you Tsukiko, I’m Dakota, and my sorting went great!-At least I think so.” He said with a soft tone, knowing how to be around shy peopl quite well. He then sat down slowly on the lush grass, feeling more comfortable around these other first years. He wasn’t sure the last time he was surrounded by this much positivity, but was loving it thus far.

Mary was happy to spend some time with new people and from different houses. She didn't wanted to be friend with only students from Hufflepuff. So she was more than pleased when a boy from Ravenclaw approached them, asking for food. She found it strange at first but maybe he lost himself when going to the Great Hall. Tsukiko had already offered him some found but Mary had also an apple in her bag and decided to offer it.
"If you want I can also offer an apple. I always have one just in case. And I love apples." She put a finger on her lips, thinking. "I think your the first Ravenclaw I meet, well beside my brother and mother. Nice to meet you."
Then she looked around, at this new group. they all seemed kind and she was already seeing them becoming best friends and spending their seven years at Hogwart together. She knew that she was always imagination things very quickly was giving her friendship really quickly but she couldn't help.
"I love it how we are all from a different house! I was afraid that people wouldn't want to mix but I didn't want to stay only with people from my house."

Shouldn't we skip Tsukiko's turn so that we can move on? Can we agree that if someone doesn't post in for example one week it's the other person turn?

Here is something that will answer your question indefinitely! It was copy and pasted from here.
"7.) It would always be preferable to have structure for an open thread. Which means that if you have more than 3 wizards/witches in your thread, you need to determine a certain order. (To keep some order, it would be preferable to do so by sending an owl to your partners) However, sometimes this can be problematic. If one of your partners have not informed you of a sudden decrease of presence and have not posted for at least 1 week, you can overpass him (skip their turn) and continue your RP normally. The members of the thread might agree upon another standard (such as 2 weeks or 3 days) but in those cases, everyone already in the thread needs to agree to this and those that enter the thread later would be tacitly agreeing to this standard upon joining the thread."
In summary, if it has been 1 week, you all have a collective choice to discuss (via owl) if you want to wait or keep going. Since it has been some time with no reply, I would perhaps keep going. Up to you all, though!

Kaiser was quick to take the peppermint and cream cupcake, and just as fast to gulp it down "thanks a lot Tsukiko" he said with a wide smile. Though it was not nearly his favorita flavor, he wasn't even sure if he liked it, he was far too hungry to care at the moment. He was still cleaning his mouth when the other girl offered him an apple. Kaiser smiled, he loved apples, they were a rather common flavor compared to the ones in the Wizarding community, but he liked it better than much of their more popular ones.
The boy took the apple with a wide smile and gave it a powerful bite, feeling the sweet flavor filling up with mouth, such a treat in his current position. "I think your the first Ravenclaw I meet, well beside my brother and mother. Nice to meet you." he heard the girl saying. He thought for a moment, he had seen many students of the other houses but to talk to them was a different thing, so it was the same case for him "well you guys are the first Hufflepuffs I've met as well, and Gryffindor...and Slytherin... basically the first few people outside my house I talk to" he said smiling as he continued feasting on the apple.

Evan had been sitting back, allowing everyone to get to know one another. This sort of cheerful gathering was just his sort of thing, it gave him energy. He leaned back, his arms splayed out behind him as he looked out across the lake. He loved Hogwarts already, the small fear he had that it would be difficult to get along with so many different people was now completely gone.
"Well we all go to school together, it's only right that we all become friends!" he piped up once the conversations had started slowing down. "If you just stick with your own house you could miss out on your next best friend, or someone to help you with your homework." Evans goofy grin showed his sincerity, today was a good day to walk down to the great lake. The air was cool, the slight breeze coming off the lake rustling the grass around them.
"It seems like we have ourselves a nice picnic going on here, lemme see what I have with me." he pulled his bag to his side and began rummaging around. Soon a small batch of assorted (slightly mushed) cakes and a sandwich was before them all. "Help yourselves, I really shouldn't be eating all of this" he laughed out loud "My eyes are often bigger than my stomach! All the food in the hall was a bit overwhelming for me and I wanted to try all of it!"
