I’m at Hogwarts, but I didn’t end up in Slytherin!
Just a letter home, it's nothing else interesting
As he walked to the owlery with a letter in hand, the winter coat on, scarf tucked around his neck, the hat over his ears and gloves on to have himself warm when he walked to the owlery. It was a cold winter night, and he figured out it was probably time to send a letter home. He has totally forgotten that he hasn’t sent a single letter home telling his parents that he didn’t get the house he wanted, and ended up in Hufflepuff instead of Slytherin. He feels so ashamed to even think about what his parents think, but they have told him over and over again that they didn’t care which house Eban ended up in, as long as he was happy. He is tho, but still, it is something to get used to, even so yellow isn’t quite his color.
He found one of the school owls that he gave the sealed letter to, and sent it off by telling it where to go. He was happy that he could use school owls to begin with, especially now he didn’t have one of his own. But he hopes in the end he could get one of his own being with him, hopefully a barn owl or maybe a scops owl that you could hear in Skiathos? Now he is thinking of every owl he wanted. Maybe the Great Horned Owls. Now he is in his zone again, but he managed to walk out in his zone of daydreaming, when he was far away from the owlery he turned himself around and ended up laying down in the snow and looking up in the sky. Before it ended up being too cold for him, so he snapped out of day dreaming and went inside to hufflepuff commonrooms to get warm.

Hello mom and dad!
Hope the letter has come to you safely and well. I’m sorry that it took so long for me to write to you. Even so it is soon yule time, and I’m coming home for that celebration. Where do we celebrate this year? is it only us this year?
The trip to Hogwarts wasn’t that bad really, it went smoothly. I found someone to talk to here at Hogwarts. He seems to be nice. He is in Hufflepuff.
Oh right, right! Sorry I didn’t tell you guys yet, I didn’t end up in Slytherin that I hoped to be in. I wanted to follow in your footsteps to be in the same house as you, but now I’m not sadly. I ended up in Hufflepuff, but now that I'm thinking about it, I’m not really surprised. I don’t think that you would be either. How is it at home lately? are you doing well?
The classes is good, learning a loot, even so I don’t remember much afterwards, but I get there when I try to learn everything over again by myself, I find a quiet place where barely no one goes and trying to learn in more stupidly fun way, in more active way of learning.
Oh dad, the potion classes I am doing are way better really, especially when you have taught me a lot before the school started. I’m glad that you know so much and have that work room with so many potion objects that we need for learning. I’m so happy here now, it is what you said: potion is almost the same thing as making food. It is only follow the recipe and instructions and you are good. I’m glad that I follow what you said.
To be honest, I miss the home, I miss the hobbies I could do there. Could you send me some painting and canvas that I could paint on? I getting bored to read only books that is for studies. Of course I'm outside playing from time to time , but it is good to do something else for a change, that isn’t reading books.
But I love you guys and I miss you, hope I hear from you soon.See you soon

Eban was near the owlery playing in the snow, when a letter fell on his head and fell in front of him. He managed to catch the letter before it fell into the snow and getting wet, he looked up at the owl that flew to the owl tower. He saw the silver family crest that was labeled in wax that sealed the envelope, he knew the letter was from his parents. He opened it so fast that it ripped a bit in the paper and he started reading it:

You could see a heart had been drawn in front of the name Alice. He was happy to read the post he got from his parents. He ran as fast as he could back to the castle to read the letter again. He wondered if he should write an answer or just wait til he was about to travel home for Yule celebration with his family. He got inside and jumped into comfy PJ and sat in front of the fireplace and read the letter again. and still ponder if he wanted to write back or not. Time would tell at least.Dear Eban
Good to hear that you have come safely to Hogwarts, even so we wanted so dearly to have gotten this letter a bit sooner than right before the yule holiday .
But you probably had to settle into Hogwarts before sending letters, but good to hear that you have gotten someone to talk to at Hogwarts, how is this person? Is this person good to you?
As you know darling, we have told you numerous times that we don’t really care which house you ended up in. But your grandparents for that matter aren't that pleased that you ended up in Hufflepuff, but I think we both knew from the beginning that you would be more fit in Hufflepuff.
Especially how you were as a kid, how playful and caring you were about others. You didn’t quite fit in with your grandparents' ideology that me and your father have been raced into.
And I’m glad that me and your father decided to raise you up differently than what we were, especially when we saw how happy and carefree you were, and how you spoke your mind when you saw that your grandparents did something that you didn’t believe was the right thing to say. You always stood up for yourself and others when you knew something wasn't right. Even the sass you gave your grandparents, when they said something rude, that you didn’t like. You have always been open minded about things most Slytherin families aren't, that’s the reason we also have changed a lot because of you. Even if your grandparents disagree over how we are raising you, we don’t want any other way. We see something that your grandparents don’t, at least not yet. But they will come around at some point, they will see at one point that everyone is equal to each other as much as you have seen the world.
We both are glad that you ended up in Hufflepuff, you sort of ended the Slytherin cycle, even so I have one sister that was in Ravenclaw, but apparently that was acceptable, but Hufflepuff was never acceptable to be in apparently for my parents. So most of our family was either in Slytherin or in other schools, as you know from stories when we talked earlier this summer. But we can talk more about it when you get home for Yule. Love to see you then, send a letter the day before you leave so we can pick you up at the train station when it arrives.
Love
Alice and Jack Fray
