It was finally time for the first meeting of the gossip club, so, after eating a quick dinner, I climbed up the stairs to the abandoned classroom on the second floor.
I was actually quite surprised with myself that I'd started a club, considering how shy I was around new people, but I knew it was good to go out of my comfort zone once in a while. When people realised how shy I was, they were generally surprised that I liked listening to gossip so much, but I liked knowing things that were going on, as it gave me a sense of control over my life.
I walked in, and spent the next few minutes shoving all the desks to the side of the classroom, so there was a large empty space in the middle. Then, wanting to make it a comfortable place to be, I pulled some of my many blankets out of my bag - it was a surprise that I'd actually managed to fit all of them in, but I'd used the spell "Pack", as I was rubbish at fitting everything I needed into the bag.
Then, I went up to the dusty chalkboard at the front of the room, found a piece of chalk, and in the middle wrote:
I draw a bubble around it, so it stood out, and drew little hearts over the i's. The reason I'd chosen that topic for the first meeting was because I'd heard so much about them while wondering the corridors, that I thought it would be a waste not to use it for something.Gossip Club meeting: Ships and relationships.
It was pretty much six o'clock now, so I went over to stand by the door, ready to welcome people to the meeting.
When people came in, I was prepared to give them a small slip of paper, on which I'd written the names:

I was given permission to godmod Mirada Johnson
Laasya was excited to attend her first meeting. She finished her dinner quickly, then ran up the stairs up to the abandoned classroom on the second floor. It was the first meeting of Gossip Club and she had become a member recently. She finished climbing, searched for the classroom and entered it. The classroom was a little area, abandoned and a bit dusty, but not too dirty as the abandoned toilets. And it was the perfect little place to host a meeting. The desks had been set aside and there were tons on cozy blankets.
Sitting there was Mirada Johnson, the founder of gossip club. She smiled at Laasya sweetly and said hi. She then gave her a piece of paper. The topic was ‘Ships and Relationships’ which was written on the board. At first Laasya thought that they were going to be discussing about actual ships. But then Mirada gave Laasya a piece of paper and on there were names of random people. Who in the world was Emily and Colin. But then Laasya remembered what ships meant and she now understood why this was the first topic of the gossip club. According to Laasya, who would discuss large boats in a gossip club? This was going to be very interesting…..

I walked down to the empty classroom. Today was the first meeting of the Gossip Club. I had been looking forward to it for so long! As I walked in, I felt my heart beat faster. The topic of the meeting was ships and relationships. My favourite type of tea!
I had always loved gossip! Gossip was one of the main things I used to talk about with my previous friends. I was always trying to find tea. I had always been dirty - minded and dirty-minded gossip! Ooh… this was going to be interesting.
I walked into the classroom. It was mostly empty and desks were laid around the classroom. Mirada, the head of the club, was already there. Another girl was sitting at a desk. On the board the topic was written as ships and relationships.
I smiled and said
“Hello!”
I was handed a slip of paper. I sat down next to the other girl. On it were a few names. Avery? I thought to myself. Like Avery Gray or a different person? Oh, I know Colin and Emily are together. I had talked to Colin before. I also knew that Lindsey likes Joseph, though they weren't on the list. I had no idea who the other people were though. I was excited to see what else we would talk about. I wanted to know about these other ships.

♡♡♡♡♡♡Riley was happy to be at her first club meeting. She had joined the gossip club, but with good intentions. She sort of loved knowing things about everyone. She also wanted to make some friends, and she assumed she could make them through clubs. So, here she was. Sitting at a table with several other first and second years. She was happy most of them were around her age, as, she thought there would mostly be older students. Riley was grinning with excitement. She also knew Mirada, just a bit. They had initially met on Riley’s first day. It was nice to actually know someone here. After welcoming everyone, Mirada passed a slip of paper to everyone. It had the names of a few couples. Riley didn’t recognize any names on it, but she supposed that wasn’t out of the ordinary, as she was only a new student. She wondered what they would speak about, as the club topic was relationships, but not specific.
Riley turned to the girl next to her. Smiling, she looked at her.
She was quite tall, from what Riley could tell (as she was sitting down). She had wavy dark brown hair, and shiny dark eyes. Of course, she was pretty. With the fair skin and shiny hair, she radiated confidence.
Then Riley turned to the other girl. She hadn’t seen her before, but she still wanted to be nice. Riley looked at her. She was wavy brown hair, and big brown eyes. She seemed very kind and easy to talk to. She was also pretty, and looked smart.

I was a bit nervous attending the gossip club for the first time. I wasn’t someone who loved to gossip but wanted to listen to all the stuff around Hogwarts. I finished my dinner and walked up the stairs to the abandoned classroom that Mirada Johnson told me she was holding the club in. I gripped the handle of my basket tighter. I brought a few treats because we were missing dessert in the great hall. The door was open. I smoothed my hair down and fixed my bow. I walked in. Miranda said welcome and gave me a slip of names. Before I sat down i introduced myself. “Hi my name is Tina. I don’t know why I signed up because I don’t like talking about people behind their backs. But this seems interesting. Also I brought some homemade cupcakes! I said. I surveyed the room. I saw Laasya Manjunath and Natasha and another girl that I didn’t know the name of, she had bright blue eyes and dark hair. I obviously sat down next to Natasha. I took all the cupcakes out of my magic basket. ” I brought cupcakes!” I said with an smile. I couldn’t wait for this meeting to start. While I waited I turned to the girl I haven’t met “Hello! It’s nice to meet you I don’t think we’ve met. My name is Tina Carille what’s yours?”

Once about five minutes had passed, I put the left over slips of paper in my pocket. Now was the time that I was dreading, where I had to start speaking to these people, who I'd never met before. I hoped they would all be kind if I did make a mistake, but I kept reminding myself - I had practised what I was going to say, it would be fine!
I swallowed deeply before stepping up to the front.
"Hello everyone, thank you all for coming!"
I looked around at the four girls sitting on the blankets and desks
"Hopefully more people will be joining us, but we'll just start off like this. Before we begin, there are a few rules, to keep it nice in here. Please don't be rude about people, and, if possible, say your sources of information, or whether they are just a guess."
I sat down at the front, and paused for a few seconds.
"When you came in, you were handed these pieces of paper, with names of the relationships that I have heard all about around Hogwarts, however, my first question is: Have you heard of any others? Or..." I paused for dramatic affect, "Are you involved in any others?"
I waited expectantly for them to speak.

Once I heard Mirada start the meeting I started thinking. What is this club going to be like? "When you came in, you were handed these pieces of paper, with names of the relationships that I have heard all about around Hogwarts, however, my first question is: Have you heard of any others? Or...Are you involved in any others?" Mirada said. She seemed nervous, I can tell when someone is nervous. I raised my hand, eager to break the ice. " Well, the other day I was walking in the corridors to class, I was late and two people were like talking about cutting class. I told them off of course. But I knew that the two people talking were two Slytherins. Their names were Valencia Rosegold and Rusty Signer. And OH MY GOSH they have so much chemistry its INSANE!" I said. I didn't wait for anyone to call on me because I was basically bursting at the seams. "Also who wants a cupcake? I brought them so you guys can eat them. Also to answer your other question no I'm not involved in any ships. At least I hope not..." I added. I hoped that the people here wouldn't think I was crazy because I told people off for skipping class. But I also hoped that people would take a cupcake. I waited for everyone's answer.

♡♡♡♡♡♡Riley looked around quickly. The amount of girls here had grown since she arrived. She recognized Natasha. And Mirada of course. But she wasn’t exactly close with them. It was surprising, but Riley yet to make a close relationship with another. Especially a boy. Which is why Riley didn’t worry when Mirada asked if any of the group were in a relationship. Riley didn’t even have a crush. Ok, maybe she had a tiny one. But it would be good to make a new connection for the ball. She would get to it… eventually.
In the meantime, she would just stick to making close friends. Another reason to join this club. To make connections. In Riley’s eyes, connections were key. Knowing people, and even knowing a lot about people. That’s why she also joined the school Band, signed up for quidditch, and organized a dance club. Everything was planned when it came to Riley. Her train of thought stopped when the girl with cupcakes began speaking. "Well, the other day I was walking in the corridors to class, I was late and two people were like talking about cutting class. It took a minute for Riley to process the information. A possible couple… Valencia and Rusty. Ooh Valencia. That’s a pretty name. Thought Riley. Yet again her thoughts were interrupted by the girl. "Also who wants a cupcake? I brought them so you guys can eat them. Also to answer your other question no I'm not involved in any ships. At least I hope not..." That sounded good to Riley. Before her brain could catch up, she began talking herself.
”Well, I’m Riley, and I’ll take a cupcake. I’d also like to say that I’m not in a relationship and definitely don't have a crush…” That might not have been the truest, but they didn’t have to know. ”And I don’t think I’m in any ships. That’s pretty much it so… Hi everyone!”

Natasha spotted Tina and Riley. Tina was her friend, but she didn't really know riley. They had met a few times though. Tina came and sat next to her.
"Hi Tina! Long time no see!" I said to her.
Then, Mirada started the meeting off with a question. Tina was quick to answer. She had already told Natasha about Valencia and Rusty. They did seem to have a lot of chemistry. Natasha herself didn't know a lot of ships, and she definitely didn't have a crush. Or did she? She had invited someone to the ball, but he was her friend.
When she first started the year, she did have a small crush. But it was too embarrassing. It's more like she looked up to him. He was a lot older than her.
"Hi! I'm Natasha Blackwood. And umm... I don't know any other ships and I don't have a crush. But I've been searching the whole school for this bit of information. What happened between colin and Clair Fernandez? They used to be together, then something happened."
It was a question she still wondered about. She had heard from loads of sources about them being together, but now he was with emily.
