Hearing that Edward had been homeschooled cleared some of the questions in his mind. The boy sounded very confident, he probably spent a lot of time talking with adults and being listened to. His life was very different from the boy. For him, school was where he learned a lot of things with journals, textbooks and homework do. Home was where he did his chores and help take care of his little sister. Knowing Edward was an only child, he thought of Zaria back home. Even that, they were very different too, he’s got a sister who’s always following him around, always asking too many questions. There was no peace with her there. He couldn’t imagine growing up without constant company, be that people or animals. “That explains a lot, you seem comfortable explaining things. Do you like being homeschooled?” It sounded intense for him. “My parents taught me things too but they’re mostly practical things that were related to farm work.”

The more they talk about the topic, the more Zephyr was forgetting his food as Edward explained it all. The boy even count on his fingers and he was impressed by how easily the information came to him. It didn’t sound vague unlike when his cousins talked about it. He really knows what he’s talking about. “Cancer, a water sign.” Edward shared that his mum quizzes him, “She sounds strict..” but possibly it came from a place of concern and care. “I don’t think I will survive those quizzes if it’s me. I was better at remembering feeding schedules than dates and cycles.” He laughed at his own silliness. Sharing the same moon sign, he was curious, “That moon sign, where is that relate to? Is it about our personality or our emotions? If both my sun and moon are water signs… does that mean something specific?” He was not embarrassed to ask anymore. “Does it mean I feel things more or I’m quieter?” He doesn’t know if he believe everything but he liked the fact that it gives words to things he already feels. “Do you think people can change their signs’ influence? Or are you born stuck with it?” He waited eagerly to hear more.

That makes two of them, he doesn’t read horoscope either. His explanation made sense to him, he liked examples that were physical, things you could see and feel. “Back home, when the river’s flooded, you can’t stop it from moving where it wanted to go but you can choose where to stand, or when to cross it. That’s probably what you mean by free will. I like the idea that it’s a pull, not a rule.” He thought further, “Do you think understanding your signs helps you understand yourself better or does it help you understand other people more?” He drank the rest of the lemonade and grinned at him. “Nice talk.” When another name was called, he glanced at the stool and noticed the sorting was almost done.

Edward smiled warmly having enjoyed his chat with Zephyr about a topic which he actually knew something about even though it had been his mother’s passion for the subject that drilled it into him at such a young age during his homeschooling, “being homeschooled was lonely at times and my mother could be strict but I got to learn from my father and grandparents too when they could be there and teach me something that wasn’t exactly in my mother’s repertoire, so to speak, so overall, I’d say I enjoyed it but I couldn’t wait to be here at Hogwarts and now here I am! Here /we/ are!” he said making sure to include Zephyr and any of the fellow hufflepuffs sitting with them at the table, “I can hardly believe it, a dream come true!”

He smiled enthusiastically as he finished eating and drinking. He turned to Zephyr, “say, why don’t we find one another in our common room after curfew tonight we can chat more before bed? More about astrology if you want or honestly whatever…” he invited him with a hopeful tone, “…if you want.” Some of his social anxiety had crept back into his voice, as he didn’t want to be overly presumptive.

He would continue to eat and drink while watching the rest of the sorting ceremony, happy to welcome another newest Hufflepuff to the table should one arrive. He was already feeling more ‘at home’ than he had ever expected to so soon, so far from everything and everyone around him he has grown up til now.

The Hufflepuff Table 2025-2026
September 1st, 2025:

"Foxwood, Isabella,"

I took a deep breath and walked to the stool in the center of the hall and I looked up. The enchanted ceiling showed a thunderstorm outside, and I could almost heart the rain thrashing outside.

I jammed the old, torn hat on my head and listened for a sound, or a question - I listened but never heard the voice of the sorting hat, as my mum told me I would - she had told me it will ask me questions, or preferences or give me a this or that - but all I heard what the muttering outside the hat of the great hall. It seemed that the sorting hat was going through my thoughts, my memories and my feelings. It felt like it was rummaging through my head and sorting through all the clutter and mess. Then, a faint voice told me - no whispered - ... Something? What was it saying? Then, still straining my ears to hear what the hat had said, a booming voice erupted "HUFFLEPUFF."

I heard cheers as I whipped the hat off, and ran to the table with the yellow crests. I silently thanked the sorting hat, and sat down on the long wooden bench. I looked around, my mind oblivious to the rest of the sorting, and thought - this is it. This is my home, where I'll eat, and sleep and study for the next 7 years. I looked up and around at the older students smiling and laughing as food began to appear on the silver platters in the center of the table. I reached for a chicken wing and poured pumpkin juice into my goblet - and as I did, in my opinion, it isn't so bad, I thought.

Gaia took place near to other students of her new house.
She realised was really hungry. Since morning she didn’t eat nothing, because the amount of anxiety. Her stomach was closed and like full of big stones.
Now, after being sorted, those stones were disappeared, and an entire day of fasting falls on her. She was really, really, hungry.
In front of her there was a big amount of delicious food. Meat, soups, sweets, all kinds of beautiful and delicious food and drink.
Gaia was very careful to don’t watch nobody in eyes and face; maybe someone tried to say her something but she couldn’t ear nothing, only a bunch of noises without a sense.
She started to eat some chicken and in meanwhile was thinking about the house she was sorted.
She never had doubts about the possibility to go in Hufflepuff. Her father was in this house, and she was so similar to him. Her mother was a Ravenclaw, but her is a totally different person. Also Gaia loves study, but her mother would do everything for understanding something and discovering new stuff. The kid always admired these sides of her mother.
She doesn’t hate how she is, but would be like her mother would be cool…
Instead, she is the portrait of her father.
She finished the meat and drink some pumpkin juice. Still watching her empty and dirty plate, she desired to go away, in common room, in her new bed, for close eyes and fall asleep, without dreaming, preferably.

I want to know who I am. I want to survive this world. I am here now, and I want to live also after my death, through my knowledge and abilities.

As the clapping and welcomes from the Hufflepuff tables Alexis Lupen took her seat in an open spot. She smiled at the people around her, mostly first years maybe a few second and third years in the immediate seats near hers, quickly introducing herself shaking a few hands, its all very overwhelming. She looked around at all the food set on the table she isn't very hungry since she had a sandwich towards the end of the train ride here. So she grabs a Pumpkin juice and a little bit of the potatoes that are set in front of her, even though there are so many different things each one looking better then the next. She takes just something small so she doesn't starve over night. she looks around there's so many people lots of yellow her nerves prickle up a bit as it hits her that she's a Hufflepuff and these people will be around her lots for the next few years. She quickly redirects her thinking and makes it positive deciding that she will try to make the best impression she can on the new people she meets and make as many friends as she can. But she cant wait to meet her new roommates.

After the hat was taken off her head, Denisse headed towards the Hufflepuff table, where they were all clapping and cheering. The anxiety she felt pre-sorting is long gone and she gets to spend her Hogwarts life with the qualities of those she shared and who will be like her family at Hogwarts.
As the Sorting Ceremony concluded and the last of the students joined their respective tables, Denisse sat at the Hufflepuff bench, her back straight and her hands on her lap. The golden plates shimmered under the light of thousands of floating candles, and the chatter of hundreds of students gave her a warmth in her chest.
When the food appeared instantly and without a sound, she joined the initial scramble for the serving platters. The spread is roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, and piles of buttered carrots on silver tureens. She served herself some shepherd's pie and peas.
Around her, the older Hufflepuffs were leaning over the table, shaking hands and sharing stories of their summer holidays. As she ate, she listened to the ghosts drifting through the tables. The Fat Friar was currently regaling a group of second years with a tale of a particularly stubborn turnip harvest. Denisse found his presence fascinating rather than frightening.
After a while, the Great Hall felt a little less like an impossible dream and little more like a communal dining room. Denisse took a sip of pumpkin juice and felt a quiet, settled confidence. She was surrounded by ghosts and the enchanted ceiling, but she had her feet on the floor and a warm meal in front of her.

Heading towards the Hufflepuff table, Thomas couldn’t help but smile, his sorting had gone well and his house seemed very welcoming! All his nervousness about sitting in front of everyone had faded, as it was now someone else’s turn to get sorted. But first Thomas had to find a spot at the table, hopefully one not too crowded as the sorting was plenty of excitement already and he needed some calm. Luckily for him, there was a free spot a bit farther down the table, and so with a clear destination in mind Thomas picked up the pace and sat down, ready to watch the sorting of the rest of the students.

Little by little, the table welcomed more and more students, until the Sorting Ceremony came to an end, at this point Thomas barely paid any attention to what was happening. Then the feast appeared on the table. He didn’t join the initial scramble for the platters, letting the other students go first, no need to fight for food after all. Once the storm known as hungry students came to pass, Thomas grabbed some potatoes and some roast beef and started to eat. The food tasted great, way better than his mum’s cooking, but then again that wasn’t that hard to achieve. There’s a reason why dad did all the cooking after all.

As Thomas ate his food, he couldn’t help but notice how noisy the Great Hall had become. Older students talking about how their summers went, first years getting acquainted with one another, even the ghosts regaling students with tales of their past. That was new to Thomas, he had never seen a ghost before, his mum told him about them of course, but seeing some was totally different! Thomas thought they were cool, like looking through a window to the past. But that was enough thinking for now, and Thomas turned his attention to the students around him, listening to their conversations until the end of the feast...

The Hufflepuff Table 2025-2026
Forward date to September, 1st

Giselle is now seated at the Hufflepuff table. She chatted with a few of her fellow Hufflepuffs. They were all REALLY NICE! She yapped about all of her interest and in return she listen to the other interest. She talked about her love for the paranormal and horror but she tried not to get into explicit detail about it since she knows that not everyone likes those and can't stomach it.

Another good thing about Hogwarts is the food. She feels like she's in heaven when she took a bite of her meal. The flovors melting in her mouth

Giselle looked around the mail hall once more, she just can't get enough of it! There's a bunch of floating candles up in the air, the sight is really pretty even though she only sees it below. Also this tables are soooo long. Is this cause by magic? Or maybe this type of tables already existed in the muggle( she learned that this word describes non-magical people)world, honestly she doesn't know.

She wonders what are classes In Hogwarts gonna be. She bets it's gonna be more entertaining than the ones she's used to.

She took a big bite from her meal that is almost finished. BEST FOOD EVER. She doesn't know if there was a spell put in that food but it was the best she ever tasted( excluding her mother's cooking of course.)

I am soooo excited to be here!

As she headed to the long table, Alma felt anxious because of the many new faces. She sat on a free seat in the middle of the long wooden table.
Thats the most food i‘ve ever seen in one place!
She quietly said, being fascinated by the many different offers by the houseelves.
She put a bit of salad and noodles on her plate and quietly began to eat.
While chewing she began to observe the people all around her. Many of the older students were chatting with their friends and laughing about the jokes they told. She suddenly was crashed by a wave of sadness, remembering her best friend back at home. They had been inseperable before she was told that she was a witch, but after changing schools they werent in contact anymore. She also missed her aunt and remembered the pancake-sundays they always had.
Alma pulled herself back into reality and finished her plate. She thought that maybe this was the exact reason she needed a new beginning: to grow. She thought about what to do later. She had no classes anymore, this late. Her mind drifted off and the chatting of the other students began to fade.

The Hufflepuff Table 2025-2026
The Great Hall was such a magical place which found me wondering if every entrance of every room would look like. I remember before going to bed I remembered how much it means to me being in the Hufflepuff cellar. When I saw the great hall there were candles floating and four large tables. I then realized there were four tables for each house. Someone next to me said I hope to be in Slytherin because they are ambitious. I turned around and saw someone with a face covered by long hair which made me guess that it was a girl, but when Someone called a name the long hair person stood up to get sorted. He had got sorted into Gryffindor. I was talking to myself about why his name was a boy name and not a girl. Just then I hear my name get called. I looked around to see who called it; it was the person doing the sorting ceremony. I stood up and she put the hat on me. It started to say stuff like very hardworking, intelligence, but where to put you. Then all of a sudden he shouted HUFFLEPUFF. The person took off the hat and nudged me towards a table. I sat down at the table waiting for the other Witches and Wizards to be sorted.
