The Ravenclaw Table 2025-2026

Diana settled onto the bench at the Ravenclaw table with a mixture of relief, lingering nerves, and belonging. The noise of the Great Hall washed over her in uneven waves, chattering from every table, cutlery on plates, and footsteps were some noises she heard. Up close, the table looked older than anything she had ever touched before, the wood worn smooth by centuries of hands and elbows, ink spills and hurried meals. She ran her fingers lightly along the edge, imagining all the students who had sat there before her, wondering if any of them had felt the same hesitant excitement twisting in her chest, or the same feeling of belonging.

Above them, the enchanted ceiling reflected the evening sky, deepening into a soft blue as clouds drifted lazily past. Diana found herself glancing up more than once, distracted by the illusion of open air and the strange comfort it brought. Diana had read about the enchanted ceiling and heard about it, but it was mezmorizing up close. It made the hall feel less enclosed, as though there was room to breathe even with so many voices overlapping around her.

She listened more than she spoke at first, taking in fragments of conversation—new first years chatting with each other was mainly what she heard. Diana wasn't one to strike up a conversation; she typically observed and was in her own thoughts before speaking to another human being. However, she did pay attention to the rest of the sorting, wondering where everyone else in her year would be placed. Maybe she'd meet someone and make a new friend.

As food appeared along the table, which marked the end of the sorting ceremony, Diana reached for a roll and finally allowed herself to relax. This was unfamiliar territory, yes, but it felt like the right kind of unfamiliar. Whatever lay ahead at Hogwarts, she had a sense that it would begin here—among books, questions, and minds that never stopped turning. She had been placed into a noble house, one that produced many witches and wizards who were creative and innovative, and she knew, without a doubt, she'd be following in their footsteps.

The Ravenclaw Table 2025-2026
Harry was sitting at the table slowly enjoying his coffee, not because he was deliberately taking his time, but because he found himself deeply immersed in a page of statistics and game analysis from the British Quidditch league, calculating the real probabilities that the Magpies, a Scottish Quidditch team and his favorite team since childhood, had of winning the league. He became so engrossed in analysis, hypotheses, and mental calculations that he simply forgot he was at the corner of a breakfast table, where he should have been savoring his coffee, which was now no longer so hot, when he noticed a soft voice. Turning his attention to the side, he realized who it was: a rather pretty girl with red hair, from his same house, had sat down at the table and asked if she could sit with him. The girl seemed somewhat shy, judging by her tone of voice, still saying that Harry didn't have to accept, which caught his attention.

"
Of course!
" Harry said enthusiastically."
I'm sorry, I didn't even notice you here. The Magpies have been worrying me a bit these last few days! Trying to make new friends? There's no need to be shy, after all, we're from the same house!"
Harry said, wanting to welcome the girl who seemed rather shy at first glance.

Fawkes looked around the table after the ceremony. She watched as old friends caught up with one another after their long summer break. She looked down at her plate with nervousness. Sure back home she had loads of friends but that was mainly due to the fact she lived in a small village at the outskirts of London where everyone knew each other well. She didn't know how to proceed or strike up a conversation with someone knew.

She spotted a few others whom she recognised as new first years from the ceremony with her. She wanted to try and speak with them but her nerves got the better of her and instead she said nothing. She ate her meal in silence and thought about how she was going to make friends with anyone. She looked up at the enchanted sky as star gazing helped her to calm down. But it seemed like it was starting to get cloudy. She frowned and looked back at her plate once again.

By this time dessert was being served. She took a helping and slowly ate it savouring every bite. Her eyes caught the Ravenclaw banner. She hadn't observed it too much earlier but now she was growing on it. She loved blue so perhaps maybe this house suited her more than she first thought.....

If you feel lost look up at the night sky. The stars will light your path!

Rose let out a sigh of relief when she heard the boy's answer as he didn't mind her. Perhaps it was out of politeness but at least he didn't seem to be bothered or annoyed by her presence. On the contrary he welcomed her warmly as he even pursued the conversation. When someone was not only answering questions but keeping on talking more it usually meant they were open to discussion. Rose didn't want to appear like some weirdos who were asking to sit with someone but were not talking afterwards. She was afraid to disturb him but it didn't seem like so she could freely talk. His words were reassuring and he was right they were from the same house and they probably both wanted to make new friends. Rose smiled at him.

"Thank you." she told him before her eyes landed on his newspapers seeing what he mentioned about the Magpies. Rose's lips curved into a smile as it was a Scottish Quidditch team and she had been hearing about it long enough at home from her older brother to know quite well about it.

"So are you into Quidditch?" she curiously asked.
"My brother told me a lot about this team since we are Scottish and he is a Quidditch player as well so yes he knows a lot." she chuckled remembering how his brother could be agitated while talking about Quidditch matches and teams.
At least it was still a conversation topic they could have even if Rose didn't know a lot it was better than nothing.

Then Rose looked at the boy recalling she had not introducing herself nor she knew what the boy's name was.
"By the way my name is Rose, Rose Pearce! Nice to meet you!" she properly introduced herself waiting for him to do it back as she held her hand out for a handshake.

Although she was shy when she sat down Rose was now feeling a bit more at ease. Perhaps they could become friends. Waiting for the young boy's answer she was serving herself a bit of porridge as well as taking an apple she would probably keep for later.

“She looked towards the dark, starry sky wishing she could drown in its vastness, the way one drifts in the deep, endless ocean.”

Harry noticed the girl's smile, not a polite smile, but a smile of inner relief. He realized he had done the right thing. Harry was happy because the girl wanted to fit in and now felt comfortable. When she sat down, he purposefully opened the newspaper slightly, inviting her once again to look at what he was reading.
When commenting on the Magpies and her own nationality, the girl caught Harry's attention.
-Serious? That's amazing! Well, we're in Scotland now, so you should feel right at home! I'm a little far from home, but I feel great here!
he said excitedly
-The Montrose Magpies, my favorite team, ever since I can remember, they have a real chance of being the current champions of the British league and that's why I was immersed in reading the statistics pages, you know? My dream is that they reach the final of the European championship and I watch them play! Well, one of my dreams at least
-he stated before inviting the girl to speak.
-And you?Do you like Quidditch?
- he asked with his gentle smile, looking into the girl's eyes. They were dark eyes, very dark and deep, but his gaze was calm and welcoming, like a protective shadow from a scorching light.
At that moment he was bothered because he saw that his coffee had cooled down, so he filled his cup a little more while resting the newspaper beside him.

The conversation between Rose and the Ravenclaw boy was ongoing and taking a rather interesting direction. She chuckled at his mention of her probably feeling like at home since they were in Scotland. He was not wrong though. Whereas he said to be a bit far away from his home which raised Rose's curiosity.

"Where are you from?" she asked before pursuing "But it's nice you feel good here! It's our home now anyways!" she smiled.
Then the young boy continued on speaking about The Magpies and what interested him. Listening to him Rose felt as though she were hearing her own brother talking about Quidditch and all. She thought that both of them would probably get along well. That made her smile. Then he asked her if she too liked the Quidditch. A rictus appeared on Rose's face. It was not she didn't like it but she was definitely not as passionate as her brother could be.

"Well...I do enjoy watching it but I'm not as passionate about it as you appeared to be." she said smiling.
"Let's say I haven't interested myself to Quidditch but Quidditch came to me eventually." she added jokingly.
"My brother has talked a lot about it back home although I'm not sure I remember well everything he told me." she said a bit embarrassed looking at the newspaper avoiding the boy's gaze.
Rose was not always feeling confident or comfortable enough to look into people's eyes -except with her friends- when looking her back into the eyes the way the boy was doing it.
She hoped he wouldn't notice nor take it as an offense so she just quickly read the newspaper he was holding before setting it aside.

Remembering she still didn't know the boy's name Rose looked up at him.
"I'm sorry what is your name again?" she asked with a gentle smile hoping to get it this time.

Harry was so engrossed in the statistics and the conversation at the same time, he had a habit of concentrating on two tasks simultaneously but wasn't able to remember everything at all times. At that moment he realized he hadn't introduced himself yet, and the girl had already asked him more than once.
-Wow! How rude of me!-
he said, still laughing a little.
-I am Harry, Harry Branddor, but you can call me Harry, or Brand, call me whatever you want!-
Harry shook the girl's hand in the same way she had shaken his, thus responding with empathy and mutual equality with a subtle gesture.
-I am from Liverpool!-
he said excitedly when she asked where he was from.
-Well, near Liverpool, I've lived my whole life in a magical village north of the metropolis, but I feel at home. Hogwarts has been talked about by everyone since I was little, and my parents always spoke of it as a second home! Although it's far away, my father's family is of Scottish descent, so I'm kind of at home too.- he said with a humble and warm smile.
She also told Harry about Quidditch, and then he replied:
-Ah your brother has good taste! And you too, in a way, Quidditch is one of my passions, it ends up being very fascinating and captivates most people!

The Ravenclaw Table 2025-2026
Marcella settled onto the bench at the Ravenclaw table with a mixture of relief, lingering nerves, and belonging. Blue was her favourite colour; it was present in everything she loved. The sea, her father's eyes, the sky and now her house. The noise of the Great Hall oddly calmed her remaining nerves. Chattering from every table, cutlery on plates, footsteps and various others were heard. She wondered whether anyone would be interested in being friends with her. Some of her doubts lingered, but she refused to dwell on them too much lest it grew on her.

Above them, the enchanted ceiling reflected the evening sky, deepening into a soft blue as clouds drifted lazily past. Ahh blue. She did truly love it. Marcella found herself glancing up more than once, distracted by the illusion of open air and the calming comfort it brought her. She had read all about it in Hogwarts: A History, but no matter the amount of descriptions, none of themdide any justice to the actual beauty. No words could describe its beauty.
She listened, taking in fragments of conversation—new first years chatting with each other was mainly what she heard. Maybe she'd meet someone and make a new friend.

As food appeared along the table, Marcella piled her plate with food, which helped her relax. She had been placed into a noble house, one that produced many witches and wizards who were intelligent and creative as well. She was determined to follow in their footsteps as well.

Finally the boy was introducing himself as Rose smiled at him with an amused look.

Was he that much immersed into his newspapers and the discussion topic that he forgot about it? Rose wondered looking at him. However he did seem to be sorry about it before he stated his name to Rose.

Harry Branddor was its name as Rose shook his hand.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Harry!" Rose told him smiling perfectly knowing she had previously said it already but since now she knew his name she could do it correctly.

Then Harry went on with where he was coming from and a bit of his family as Rose was carefully listening nodding time to time. At his words she reached the conclusion that both Harry's parents were probably wizards. To make sure she preferred to ask.

"So both of your parents are wizards?"

When Harry mentioned his father being from a Scottish descent Rose arched an eyebrow her curiosity raised.

"Really? Then that's why you also feel at home here! You're half Scottish in a way!" she jokingly said.
"Perhaps we could even have the same ancestors." she added going on with her joking tone as she chuckled.

That could be possible. Unlikely but still a possibility. Obviously Rose was only joking not considering any of this to be something true.

When Harry complimented her brother in a way her eyes lighted up as they sparkled of admiration for her brother.
"My brother is crazy about Quidditch." she said chuckling.
"Sometimes I wonder if he doesn't like no love Quidditch more than me or even his own family." she said laughing.

Then looking at Harry she asked him.
"Do you also have any siblings?" Rose curiously asked him.

“She looked towards the dark, starry sky wishing she could drown in its vastness, the way one drifts in the deep, endless ocean.”

The Ravenclaw Table 2025-2026
Rose cheerfully returned Harry's greeting, now delighted to finally discover his real name.

When she asked if Harry had any siblings, he replied, "Yes, Jake, my younger brother, is going to Hogwarts next year, and like me, he loves Quidditch," Harry said, remembering one of his best friends and an important member of his family.

"Yes!" Both are wizards from an ancient line of British wizards. My mother was born and raised in Godric's Hollow and my father in London. If I'm not mistaken, his great-grandfather moved from Scotland to England, but that was a long time ago— Harry replied when the girl asked about his parents. this, they always liked Muggles very much and were never fully content to live apart from them, so my father decided to move to Liverpool where he came into contact with many of them—

The girl ironically mentioned the possibility of them having the same ancestors. -It's really possible, although technically everyone has a common ancestor, but on the other hand, my father tells me stories that the Branddors are distant relatives of the famous Ravenclaw family, he said. "That's what his father told him and what his grandfather also said, but honestly I don't know if it's true and I don't really care, I know that the Branddor family has carried its name for generations," he replied.

"Nonsense!" he said with a calm smile after the girl mentioned his brother's exaggerated love for Quidditch. "Everyone has a passion that often seems exaggerated, but like anyone else, your brother would put the people important to him first," he said, making an observation about how people tend to show their true interests.
