Secret passage way!

"So sorry I'm late, Flame. I was just so absorbed in my book."

Flame looked up to see Astra run around the corner. She was panting and out of breath. While Flame had been waiting for Astra she had been going over the book she had been reading earlier this morning and was trying to figure out what would happen next.There had been 4 groups of cats who had all lived in a forest together but they fought to protect their borders and they hunted for their food. It was one of Flames favourite book series called Warriors. She also really liked Percy Jackson, Skander and the unicorn Theif and Septimus Heap!

“It’s okay Astra!”Flame said smiling up at her. I was just thinking about a book I was reading earlier,” Flame stood up “Anyway, I am so excited to show you this thing I found! Are you ready to go?”

Flame was trying so hard to contain her excitement that she was literally vibrating! She couldn’t wait to show Astra the passage and was trying SO hard not to spoil the surprise! ‘Calm down Flame!’ She told herself ’You don’t want to give it away!’ It would be super sad if she spoiled the surprise for Astra!

Flame looked at Astra. “Ready?” She asked Again.

Flame reached over to Astra and covers her eyes. “I am going to guide you to where we are going but your eyes are going to have to be closed” Flame told Astra. “If you don’t trust me you can stop now.” Astra didn’t say anything so Flame took it as a yes.

“We are going to start walking forward now.” Flame warned Astra as they set off slowly walking down the corridor until they reached a portrait of a old Grumpy lady. “Oh it’s you.” The lady said dully. “Can’t you just leave me alone!” “Sorry not, sorry! My friend and I are going in!” Flame told her. She looked around to make sure that there was no one around and then tapped the portrait’s hand.

The portrait swung open and Flame gently guided Astra into the hallway and lit a torch using a match. She looked back into the hallway to make sure no one was watching and then pulled the portrait closed. She gently pushed Astra down a short hallway and the into a small room.

The room was circular and had shelves along half the wall which were covered in books. There was also lamps along the wall. In the middle of the room there were five brightly coloured bean bags. Purple, red, blue, yellow and green. In between the beanbags there was a small table. Off to one side there was a medium sized wooden box.

Flame turned to wards Astra and told her to open her eyes. “Open your eyes Astra!” she said excitedly “What do you think?”
