Slytherin v Gryffindor 3rd Game Finished

Dan got smacked with a bludger, but Koko and her awesomeness had caught him. Despite the pain, Dan had a wicked grin on his face. He'd been dying to do that to Lamik since he tried to side with that dirty American headmaster, who now seemed to have the gall to show up and host THEIR Quidditch match.

"Thanks for the save, Koko."

He observed how the first few moments of the game proceeded, and his sinister smile only grew. Everything was proceeding almost exactly like he had planned. As expected, Lamik was saved. And neither of the two beaters were. Griseldis was gone.

"Yeeess, dance puppets, dance!"

In addition, Ruby had scored a goal! In the first moment she had been in a game, she scored!

Perfect.

The only wrench in the plan was the loss of Erin so early. He had been so looking forward to letting her let loose on Hugh. He knew how much she'd wanted to. And what a lovely blow to morale that would have been. Gryffindor's prided bludger tank, blasted off his broom by Slytherin's ballistic missile launcher known as Erin.
Oh well. There were plenty of other ways to break a team. Especially Gryffindor. Though Dan was normally not an aggressive or cruel person, he found, while playing online games, and Magic the Gathering, that he enjoyed breaking his opponents as he won. He took particular pleasure in seeing people who were super egotistical being brought down.
In fact, back at his muggle school, some upper classman was going on about how unbeatable he was, and how his deck was incredible.
Right up until Dan took him apart three different times with three different decks. Reduced the little prick to frustrated tears.

And prideful Gryffindor was a target he had been greatly looking forward to.

Dan looked, and caught the Greenhorn Gryffindor Captain Rafael Despacito or something glaring at him with a fury he know personally. So, Dan did the best thing to do in such a scenario.

He stared right back at Rafael, and gave him the most evil, smug-ass grin he could manage, the kind an anime antagonist would give the main protagonist after he'd outwitted him, and was letting him watch as his friends were hunted down and shot.

Wow, he was really getting into this evil mastermind role.

Actions: Purposefully triggering Rafael, taking a lap on Koko's broom.

Even with his glasses (yes, he'd decided to worn them, for once in his lifetime), Roman can barely see. There's too much movement. And noise. And while he does his best to focus on the Slytherin players, to have any idea of they're planning to do, he can't make out much. The second string Beater squints his eyes, anxiously watching, and celebrates with others when a Gryffindor player - just another one of the red blurs that he could make out.

"Go, Slytherin!" yells Roman at the top of his lungs, eyes now glued to the green blurs that cross across the enormous Quidditch Pitch. Then he realizes one of the Slytherin players is knocked out, though he can't make out which one. Slowly, he moves towards his school broom.

Wren was calmly watching from the sidelines when she saw it all go down.

First it was Ariana who went down from Alexx knocking into her from the side. Man, that looked painful, the girl had slammed her body into the side of her the other girls broom and Ariana went down hard. She was instantly knocked out and went tumbling to the ground.

Then it was Gris who was knocked out. Gris, on the other hand, was knocked out from a bludger sent by Erin Ryan. That looked more painful then Ariana’s knock out.

All too soon Evelynn Decipio, co-captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, flew up to where Wren was watching from the sidelines and told her that she was in the game. So, Wren climbed on her broom and joined her teammates in the game.

It seemed as if Gryffindor needed more than enthusiasm to win this match. From the beginning of the season, they were doomed, and it hadn't improved much now. Watching Ariana fall to the ground on the field caused anger to intensely course through her veins, brows furrowed. She just knew that somehow Alexx would screw everything up. Clenching her fist, she watched their team co-captain and Wren talking, who was probably giving her a pep talk about getting back on the field or something.

Marla played with the bristles on her broom, trying to distract herself from her nearly completely overwhelming fury. It was more than slightly humiliating– that she was so worked up over a quidditch game. That she wasn't even playing in yet. Why couldn't she just get her temper in check already? Then again, it wasn't like two sickles a day would get her therapy. Good therapy, at least. Did they have, like, magic guidance counselors at Hogwarts or something? Because lord knows that Marla Quinlan needs one.

As Wren got onto the field, she snapped out of her thoughts and gave a small grin to the girl. "Break a leg!" she had exclaimed quickly before the fellow Gryffindor hopped on her broom, soaring into the sky. She prayed that they would be able to hold this game out for at least a shred of dignity for this quidditch team.

"SLYTHERIN IN POSSESSION!" Ariana heard Plott's voice booming from the right side of the stadium. They were barely into the game, and Ariana was full of adrenaline and excitement for her first match. She listened carefully to the commentary as she held her bat at the ready, prepared to strike, hitting bludgers away from players on her team and keeping out an eye for danger. She turned her head to the other side, squinting to look out for the other slytherin players, leaving her other side unguarded. A huge blow, knocked the wind out of her as something, or rather, someone went slamming into her. She cried out in shock and a bit of pain, catching a glimpse of Alexx, a slytherin player. She fought to stay conscious "WALKER IS DOWN! Oh poor thing.." She heard Plott's voice below. "ALEXX SÉVERIN! ONE PENALTY LAP FOR BLATCHING!" Came the booming voice again, but before she could fall to her trance Ariana mustered what was left of her strength and cracked her bat. The bludger darted like a bullet and struck Erin in her right hip. "ARIANA'S GOTTEN HER VENGEANCE! DOWN GOES ERIN!" Ariana smiled slightly, the pain overwhelming her shoulder as she slipped slowly into unconsciousness falling to the ground of the pitch. She heard screams and cries from above her as she landed with a sickening crunch onto the ground below. Her dazzling green eyes sparkled once more before they closed and Ariana blacked out into complete unconsciousness.

─── Round II  ───
As tension began to rise in both teams, the game was only getting started. Multiple bodies had hit the ground hard and were rushed off the field to be examined for injuries. The field wasn't known for being soft, after all. For some, it had been the first time experiencing the lengthy fall; like jumping off a swing at its highest peak. It seemed to last forever, but there were no complaints. It could be argued that falling was much better than hitting the ground at full speed. Many teammates paid their respects and mourned at the loss, but there was a game to win and ultimate bragging rights.

Mounting their brooms, many new players joined in on the action. There was no more cheering for them, though some were perfectly fine with doing just that. It was time for them to get their fame or die trying. These players had to stay on their game. Gryffindor had been shorted a player after both of their incredible beaters, Ariana and Gris, personally got to meet the grass. Wren had a big hole to fill that one person simply couldn't manage, but that didn't diminish her confidence and simply motivated her to do better.

Everyone knew the acrimony between the two houses, the cliché embedded into the houses many years ago. Even the Slytherin captain mocked his rival, smiling devilishly almost as if the game had already been decided. As for the female captains? They were merely playing the game. Evelyn remained calm and collected, despite things not looking up, she was willing to put on a brave face for Gryffindor. Tyranni, on the other hand, didn't mind letting her emotions out, but at least the girls weren't having a scene.

With the Quaffle free and ten more points added to the scoreboard, the players raced towards the leather ball. There was something strange about one of the players. It was none other than the keeper himself as he raced to the Quaffle. After letting the Quaffle zoom past him, there was nothing but redemption on his mind. With impressive speed, he charged for the ball and became a temporary chaser. To the shock of many, he surpassed even Ruby's attempt which had come close as well. Shortly after, the commentary of Plott, still maintaining his dramatic personality as he pointed up at the Hugh. "Keeper with the Quaffle? This is amazing!"

As the crowd roared over Hugh's successful goal, AJ and Lamik were busy trying to find the seeker's broom and the many players that were called out flew around the Pitch, taking their penalty lap to quickly get back into the game. As there was no one to guard the hoops, tossing the Quaffle into the rings might have been the easiest thing he'd done. In no ways did Koko deserve to accompany Dan for the lap, but it had to be completed someway.

Chaotic was an understatement to describe the events of the game. Soon it was Rafael racing towards the two players. He had endured Dan's taunting long enough, it was a well-known tactic, but during their lap? That was vile... but respectable. Plott was smarter than to announce his attempt to everyone, including the players. His intentions were clear, but Lazarus couldn't wait for the impact. Possibly a bit harder than he should have, he put his elbow up and prepared to force the duo to the ground, but they were quicker than that. Moments before the impact, Dan and Koko seemed to be in sync as their elevation dropped before they could both meet the ground. A series of cheers and applause erupted from the Slytherin section. Some even decided to jump up and down, celebrating the athleticism of the duo.

"Rafael D'Spacito! Penalty lap!" There was no need to elaborate on something so obvious. Nico had been spared an important choice, whether it came down to Koko or Dan. It was always best to be safe than sorry.

Roman was ready to show off his skills to Hogwarts. A bludger found him immediately, but he was quick and sent the metal flying off. The shot was perfect, the sound continued to pulse around the stadium like a speaker with a very bad echo. "A brilliant shot by Kingston! Going towards-" It made a beeline for Lamik and AJ and before he could finish the bludger found the boys and hit Lamik in his lower back, throwing him forward on to Roman. The force knocked both Lions off their broom. That was a devestating loss for Gryffindor, it seemed like Wren wouldn't be the only one called in by Evelyn.

Stepping up to the plate next was Wren Caster, her eyes on another player, who like herself, got roped into the game. She was going to make him pay for his actions. Like Roman, the beater had a perfect shot. The aim was spot on, and the bludger even whistled a bit, but it was inaudible over Slytherin's fan club going crazy and imitating Roman's shot. The attack nearly took his head off, or at least almost broke a few bones. The ball of iron collided with his collarbone, knocking him off his broom, but- "Way to go Nico!"

Lastly, it was Bridget who still had her damage to inflict except she seemed to be avoiding the metal as if they were her enemy. Both seems had a similiar definition of vengence. An eye for and eye as some called it. Bridget rammed her body into Wren's, but the two were stuck in combat. Pushing against each other, the Gryffindor refused to go down without a fight. She had just joined the game, why on earth was she being targetted? Bridget thrusted her elbow, and with no luck Wren made a U-turn to avoid anymore confrontations. So many players had come and go, but she wasn't going down. Not yet, anyway. The game wasn't even at it's halfway point.

There seemed to be something he was forgetting, however. Suddenly he raised he voice. "Ah, yes. Collins! Penalty lap for attempted blatching!" When would these children learn that blatching wasn't always the answer?

AJ was distracted with helping Lamik search for his broom. Both boys were eager to get the Seeker back into the fray independently. The Scotsman was soon distracted by something else however, the sound of a broom whizzing past his ear at high-speeds. He saw his Captain on a warpath towards the enemy Seeker, mounted upon the broom of one of his Slytherin teammates.

"Raf! Don'!" AJ called out, perhaps pointlessly, perhaps stupidly. His captain missed his attempt in either case and AJ was unsure if it was due to distraction from his shout or the quick reflexes of Koko. He couldn't help himself, he didn't want to see his team stoop to Slytherin's level.

He wouldn't get much more say or much more time to dwell on it though as finally he refocused only to hear the unnatural screech of a bludger coming up right behind him and his passenger. Slamming into the back of Lamik the force from the bludger shoved the boy into the back of AJ at quite a speed, causing him to quickly lose grip and sending them both tumbling down.

No thoughts particularly crossed his mind as the wind blew through his messy hair and he saw the ground quickly approaching. At least he wasn't flipping, he knew when the ground was going to hit him.

CRUNCH

AJ hit the ground with a bounce causing a small dirty crater in the grass. He felt a sharp pain shoot through his arm. "Tha'...mebbe broooken..." Was all he managed to gasp out as he slowly slipped into a dark, numb unconsciousness.

Perhaps Bridget wasn't very strong, but she had her intelligence and observant nature riding for her, letting her strategize on the fly. In the span of a few seconds, she noted who each side had in play, ran through various plays, and settled on her move. Gryffindor had one Beater left. If she could get rid of her, the lions would have to resort to blatching to take a Slytherin out, which would cost them a penalty lap. Raising her bat, her hazel eyes searched for a ball of metal to do the trick. Then she lowered it. The small girl didn't need anyone to tell her she wasn't very strong; she was painfully aware of that fact. But she was precise. If she wanted to eliminate the Beater, blatching was her best bet.

Before she could second-guess herself, Bridget was streaking across the pitch towards the girl. She was right on target, bracing herself for impact... and then she missed. Somehow, at the very last moment, the Gryffindor had just barely evaded her blatch, leaving her to streak past from her momentum. The Slytherin sighed as the expected announcement sentencing her to a penalty punctuated the crowd's roaring. Ignoring the fact that much of that noise was made up of boos, she sped off to get back in the game as fast as possible.

At least being out of the action allowed her to catch up on what'd happened while she'd failed to take the last Gryffindor Beater out. The opposing Keeper had abandoned his hoops and narrowly snatched the Quaffle away from Ruby, easily tossing it through their undefended goal. The brunette grimaced. That wouldn't have happened if she'd taken out the large boy. Roman proved his worth immediately upon entering the game, taking out the doubled-up Seeker and Chaser with a crack of his bat. Moments later, he was unseated by a bludger from the girl she'd tried to blatch, but Nico saved the day and stopped his fall.

Alexx, Dan, and Koko had finished their penalty laps, a good thing as she was now out of the action. But she wasn't the only person who'd tried blatching this round--so had the Gryffindor Captain. The nature of his blatch made her lip curl in disgust. Being a part of the Slytherin Quidditch Team meant dealing with mutterings of the cheaters they supposedly were, and Bridget, no stranger to people whispering about her, had quickly gotten used to it. The way she looked at it, fouling wasn't cheating. Fouls were a normal aspect of any team sport, and in the game of Quidditch where taking the other team out was second in importance only to ending the game with more points, it hardly seemed abominable.

But this was hypocrisy. Gryffindors were among those that thought Slytherin cheated, yet here was their Captain doing just that, but worse. Targeting people while they couldn't fight back was plain dirty. And now she had to take a penalty lap with the person who thought that was an acceptable play. Great. Well, then, she'd just have to fly faster than him.

[font=Segoe Print]There was a draft blowing, cold and biting in contrast to the sunshine descending on the pitch, ruffling up the young Captain’s already messy as he flew will skilled precision, brown eyes tracing the opposing Slytherin Captain with ever-surmounting fury. His fingers digging into the wooden handle of his knobby broom, his lip bit between his teeth so hard it drew blood, his mind slowly spun into madness, images of his own beaters falling out of the sky in painful replay. Such thoughts only poured salt on the wound inflicted by the Slytherin Team, gasoline on the ever-burning fire of the young boy’s rage – Dan wanted to blatch? That was fine. But the Slytherin’d best prepare for the repercussions.

It was the perfect opportunity to strike, as it seemed – Dan’s blatching certainly hadn’t gone unnoticed, as the mysterious American announcer had promptly called the second-year out for his misdemeanor, dooming the seeker to one painfully-long penalty lap. The Slytherin in question had boarded a nearby broom, specifically that of Koko Riddle’s, the trusty Slytherin Keeper. He would have to apologize to Koko later, it wasn’t her fault that she would be knocked from the skies. It was the game they played, there would always be collateral damage – he wouldn’t feel guilty. Perhaps he was incapable of such thoughts in a setting like this.

[The boy wasn’t in the least ashamed of playing dirty. His conscience had long since deserted him, leaving nothing but a vengeful spirit deep within the recesses of the boy’s chest, a dangerous rage burning through his demeanor and taking utter control of his limbs.]

He’d carefully descended on the opposing forces with practiced precision, his broom directly beside his opponents’ as he eyes the damned seeker, his teeth gritted in an attempt to keep his big mouth to himself. Now or never. Without so much as a second thought, the boy rammed his elbow outwards, his face determined, his muscles tense, his aim true as –

As Dan and Koko had evaded perfectly.

In one swift movement, it had seemed, Koko had dropped her broom down and out of reach, leaving the unlucky Captain swiping for the wet air instead of a fouling seeker. The two had then continued their lap, seemingly without any interruption, leaving Rafael utterly confused, a scowl only growing upon his features. A snarl erupted from the throat of the young Captain – no, that certainly wasn’t going to do. It wasn’t. Not if the Captain had anything to say about it.

"Rafael D'Spacito! Penalty lap!"

He was gone, but not out. And his vengeance would be wrought, one way or another…

Lamik did his best to refocus on the game, looking down at the pitch in search of the broom which had inevitably crashed onto the ground. His main priority would have to be returning to it- as long as he was sharing a broom with someone, the boy knew that he would also be putting that someone in danger. Unfortunately, the search for his broom not only distracted Lamik from his captains sudden aggressive behavior, but it also ensured that he wouldn't notice the bludger barelling his way.

And then he was falling again- something in the back of his head had registered that he had knocked AJ off accidentally, but it was difficult to focus on anything other then the feeling of impending doom that grew as the ground drew nearer.
