Don't hesitate to owl me for any questions!! :) (even if it doesn't have anything to do with the storyline, I'm open for questions!)
Growing up, Valencia had always been surrounded by people, mostly muggles or witches and wizards who didn't know they were witches or wizards yet. Valencia was one of the few who hadn't realized she was a witch, after all, her mom never spoke of it to her anyway. When Valencia received her letter of admission from Hogwarts, she was thrilled to say the least.

Valencia had grown quite close with a girl and a boy back at home when they were younger; they even called themselves the "Inseperable Trio", quite literally living up to the name. Though growing up in the Muggle world after learning you're a witch can be difficult, especially when you don't know who you can and can't tell, so when Valencia got her letter, she told them nothing of it, leaving suddenly without any notice to them.

Since coming to Hogwarts, Valencia hasn't met anyone she's known previously, only those who are similar to people from home. Small similarities, like the jokes she hears, the smiles she sees, or even the same eye colors, make her mind wander back to the girl and boy she used to be inseparable from.

The trio hadn't left her mind a day since, leaving her feeling guilty about never being able to tell them the truth,or even give any warning that she wouldn't be returning to their school the following year. Today was unlike any other, she was walking through the small hall as usual, her mind wondering back to the playful- sometimes flirty, but hardly ever - moments she experienced within their trio. A small smile plays on her lips as she keeps her head down, watching her feet and books as she walks instead of looking ahead.

Her carelessness and sense of direction had always been a problem- she could never seem to stay on her feet very long when she zoned out. Before she knew it, she bumped into someone, causing her to stumble back- not fall, just stumble. She looked up apologetically before freezing, "Is it really you?" she spoke with wide eyes, her breath catching in surprise and something else, "After all this time, is it really you?".

Rose was passing by the Small Hall to get to the Great Hall and expected to have dinner although it was not sure she would be able to eat something. Indeed today she had been feeling strange as if something was troubling her without knowing what. Lately she has been thinking at her childhood friend Keira wondering what she had become and where she currently was. She knew she also was a witch but she had moved from Edinburgh before receiving the letter of admission from Hogwarts so she was not attending another Wizardry school. Rose sighed. Obviously she had met other persons since she has come to Hogwarts but she had no close childhood friends with her here. Of course she was glad and thankful for the friends she had made here at Hogwarts since some of them became her best friends.

Out of nowhere her mind began to flash back about a young girl and a young boy.

Who were they? Rose wondered before it hit her. How could she forget these two close childhood friends she used to spend the holiday with. It was some years when her father had to go working in London for some years during summer. Perhaps Rose forgot about it as going to London during summer holidays because of her father's work was not exactly what to expect from a summer break. Thankfully she still could spend a part of it in Portree and the following years as well as her father's trip to London didn't last that long. Nevertheless it has been enough for her to make two close friends she actually lost contact with for quite a time now. As far as she could remember they met during a gathering played together and ended up becoming really close friends as it was difficult for them to part.

How come she had never thought of reaching out to them? Rose had no ideas what they had become or where they could find themselves. She sighed at how pointless it appeared to her after all this year.

Rose was brought back to reality when someone bumped into her making her almost falling on the stone floor. Hopefully she caught her balance back to prevent finding herself on the stone ground. As she was going to apologise the other person's voice -which was a girl voice- came to Rose's ears as if the girl knew her.

Rose frowned looking at the person in front of her wondering why she was asking if it were really her. Analysing the girl's figure Rose was trying to remember any familiar faces.

Blond hair, rosy cheeks, freckles,... she was enumerating in her thoughts when her light green eyes met...

Two emerald green eyes that hit her as her eyes widened in astonishment.
That can't be Rose was thinking Just when I was thinking about those times.

"Is it? Rose asked back the girl as surprised as she seemed to be.
"It can't be." Rose's face brightened up with a smile.
"How come! I was thinking about us and those times just now and we bumped into each other!" she joyfully said without believing it and not knowing what to say more still in shock and way to happy about this encounter.

“She looked towards the dark, starry sky wishing she could drown in its vastness, the way one drifts in the deep, endless ocean.”

After all this time, is it really you?
My eyes widened in slight surprise, "Rose? It can't be, can it?" I smile widely, my eyes warm with familiarity. "I'm so glad to see you here, I was just thinking about you and how you were doing!" I spoke with much excitement as I pulled her into a hug, happy to finally see her again.

As I left the hug, I seemed to realize something, "Wait, you're a witch, too?" I asked with a wide smile, realizing that maybe, afterall, I hadn't left my friends behind. My excitement seemed to overtake me; I couldn't stay still as I bounced from one foot to the other. "It's so nice to see you again! What house were you sorted into? Have you made any new friends? What's your favorite class? Oo, mine's Herbology!" the questions seemed to spill out of me, it felt like I hadn't seen her in forever, though it was just less than a year ago when I had.

My eyes scanned her- her auburn hair and green eyes hadn't changed from the last day I saw her, though dare I say, she seemed slightly taller than I had remembered. That small difference- the few centimeters that stood above me- made me remember all of the days Rose, the boy, and I had spent together. Our childlike features seemed to still be in place, comforting me in a way I couldn't explain.

Rose was standing in front of her friend still without realising it was the girl right in front of her. Her eyes blinked several times to be sure she was seeing clearly as her eyes were going from head to toe and toe to head.

Perhaps she felt too numb to move as smiling was the best she could do before Valencia put her into a hug she successfully gave back. When they parted from each other Rose chuckled at her friend's question which answer seemed to be obvious but was asked anyways to make sure that was real.

"Apparently I am. And you are too!" she gently smiled.

Although she wondered how she couldn't have thought about this option. Well she was young and while enjoying their times together wondering whether her friends knew about wizard world was the last Rose could have thought of. But when seeing Valencia's parents she could have had a clue or a thought anything letting her know she might be a witch as well. Nevertheless she was too happy now to think about how she hadn't noticed anything. It appeared Rose was not the only one delighted about this reunion as Valencia couldn't remain steady and asked a bunch of question once at a time. However Rose couldn't blame her as she probably would have done the same.

"Me too! I'm so glad to see you! I didn't expect finding you here." she said enthusiastically with a big smile on her face her eyes sparkling of emotions. She chuckled before answering to all of Valencia's questions.
"I have been sorted into Ravenclaw" Rose proudly showed the house insignia on her robe to her friend before pursuing "Yes I have made some close friends! As for my favourite subject it's Astronomy!" she smiled at her friend. "And you? What about you? Have you made any friends? What house are you in?" she asked back.

Rose looked at Valencia still not believing it. From her appearance the girl didn't change much from Rose's memory otherwise she probably wouldn't have recognised her. Then Rose's mind drifted to the last person of their trio as she wondered whether Valencia had any news from him.

"By the way, have you heard of him? Do you know where is he, what is he doing?" she asked smiling hoping Valencia may know more than her.
"If he were a wizard like us?" she added expecting he may find himself in Hogwarts too.
