He grinned when the first girl finally fist-bumped him back. It's taken her a second, but she had done it, which was better than some people. A lot of people just ignored him when he did that.

After Rosalyn explained, he just stared at her for a moment, contemplating. "How on earth did you get detention in the Trophy room?" it wasn't off-limits, as far as he could remember. Maybe it was? Or maybe she'd just been breaking curfew or something. To be honest, he'd never really gone in the Trophy room very much. Maybe he'd check it out again some time, although he figured most of the trophies were probably based around quidditch or something

The wizarding world's obsession with quidditch seemed rather strange to Felix. It was just like any other sport, just adapted to fit the community (magic-users) by adding flying and extra hoops into the mix. He wondered why wizards didn't appear to have any other kinds of magical sports, since muggles had, like, hundreds of different kinds of sports, and wizards had the magic to spice up any game they chose to design.

At the two girl's mentions of pink hair dye, he laughed. "Pink would look awesome!" Felix hadn't thought of just doing the tips. Probably would have been easier.
Hah, too late now. He already had bleach over pretty much all of his hair. Couldn't go back now, really. He still had to figure out how he was going to wash this out though.

"Uh, well...basically, I was lost at night, right? You know that's not uncommon, that's literally how we met. Anyways, I was going to my dorm, it was before curfew, everything was fine! Then, the staircase moved as I was on it, so I got rerouted. I was trying to go a different way because I couldn't go the way I was trying to go. I was walking through the Trophy Room to go through and to a different, hopefully unmoving, staircase. Then, some guy got scared after hearing me, I got scared when he called out that he was the monster you mentioned to me on my first day." Rosalyn said. She could still remember her first ever day at Hogwarts, when Felix had told her there was a monster that would...what was it...snatch students or something if they were out late? She still wasn't fully convinced that was a lie...

"Well, then a prefect caught us, and we both got detention. I made a new friend, though, so that's alright! I just didn't like having to run a full mile in the freezing cold, but it could have been a lot worse, I suppose!" she said. She shivered just thinking about it.

"Thanks, I think so too! Or, well, I hope so at least!" she said when Felix mentioned that pink would look good.

"What about you, have you ever had detention? Or you?" she asked, addressing both of them. She didn't know if she'd asked already, her heart was still beating a bit too fast from the whole wrong-lavatory thing, but at least she wasn't terrified anymore.

"And Felix, is that permanent dye or more temporary?" she asked, curious if he was planning on it coming out or not.

Felix almost laughed when she mentioned the 'monster', but managed to keep a straight face as he said "Oh, okay. That's an interesting form of detention. I figured they'd just do more written work, but I suppose running gets the point across just as well, especially in this weather"

"Hmm, good question," he grabbed the container and inspected it for a moment, skimming over the writing on the back before looking back up at Rosalyn. "It's semi-permanent, I think." he shrugged. It didn't really matter to Felix, he just wanted something easy to do.
Anyways, his main concern at the moment was pinning his hair back, because he really didn't want the bleach-covered stuff touching his face. It'll have to sit for a bit. Maybe 2o minutes, according to the package.

"And nah, I haven't gotten detention. Don't plan on it, either. Trying to keep a winning streak" as much as it would be an interesting new thing to do (well, maybe not interesting, per se, but still new), he planned to avoid it as best he could, unless things truly got dull. Then maybe he would check it out. Just for the sake of it. There was plenty of things you could do that were technically punishable by detention, it just depended on if you got caught or not, and by whom.

"Yeah, that's what I figured too, but apparently not! I just hope I don't get any detention again! I wonder if they tell parents? Mine probably wouldn't care too much as long as my grades are okay, but still." Rosalyn said, curious if they would notify her parents. It would be fine regardless, she could explain the situation and how she got lost.

"Okay, semi-permanent is fun! Just make sure not to get it on yourself, I'm sure it would be a pain to get off. Especially the bleach!" she said, hoping that he hadn't already burned himself or something.

"A winning streak? What does that mean, do as many mischievous things as possible without getting caught?" she asked, and honestly, she wouldn't be all that surprised if that was the case.

"How long do you plan on keeping your hair red?" she asked, curious to know if he wanted to switch it up quickly or let it be red.

If she were to dye her hair, it would definitely be pink tips. Maybe an ombre sort of thing? But she'd keep it for a while, definitely. If she was going to do the work she wanted to get some fun hair out of it for a long time!

@Felix Hawthorne @Valencia Rosegold You're fine! Also, so cool! I haven't dyed my hair in years, that was back when I was blond enough to not have to bleach it!

“I assume it’s one of those three-strike systems? Like, it doesn’t get reported to them until you’ve gotten multiple detentions or it becomes a bigger problem? It seems excessive to report every detention to our parents, especially when we’re not even going home every day, so it doesn’t really affect them.” he really didn’t know. The staff probably had to notify parents at some point, since it directly affected their school experience, but it seemed unlikely that they’d find time to owl every kids mom or dad every time they got in trouble.
See, they should really set up an emailing computer setup. It would help with things like that.

“Pretty much. I mostly just like going for walks after curfew, or checking out that forest, it’s nothing too extreme. Not until I find someone else to do it with, anyway.” he did want to get into some bigger things, maybe some pranks or just general mischief, like he’d originally planned when he first came to Hogwarts (before he actually got busy with classwork). Except, Felix didn’t think it would be as fun by himself. Plus, he wasn’t particularly interested in getting in trouble. He valued his free time, and it would be unpleasant to lose that to some petty detention.

At her next question, Felix had to think for a second. He really hadn’t thought that far ahead. “Eh, I don’t know. I'll keep it as long as I can before I get bored or my dad gets mad, I suppose. I might grab some more colours next time I’m at home, do multicoloured or something” He really wasn’t sure how his family was going to react. It’d be funny, for sure.
Maybe it’d create some new drama with his cousins. They’d been specifically told they couldn’t dye their hair at all until they were older, so they’d be jealous as hell. Especially if he told them that his dad had said yes to it. They’d be fuming. They’d been upset about his ear piercing too. Apparently their mom was quite firm about them not doing any of that for now.
The youngest one, Louis, was a complete crybaby anyway. He wouldn’t do well getting a piercing, no matter how much he claimed he’d get a tongue one as soon as he was allowed to. Louis would probably panic at the last moment when he realized it was an actual needle. Honestly, it'd be fun to watch.

@Rosalyn Willows @Valencia Rosegold Yeah, my hair's too dark for anything to show without me bleaching it a lot, and I was finally allowed to do that back in June, so I'm making the most of it now (bright green) :3

"I hope so. I doubt they'd really care to get mad anyways, but they would probably be concerned." Rosie said, knowing that her parents wouldn't be angry but would be shocked, as she'd never gotten in trouble at school before.

"Well, that's fun! I hope you find someone then!" she said, knowing that she didn't have enough time at the moment to do any forest-visiting, what with classes and homework and all the other things.

"Ooh, multicoloured would be really fun! Have any specific colour in mind for that idea?" she asked, wondering what exactly he was thinking. Something like a rainbow, or maybe stripes, so many options!

Rosie again contemplated dyeing her own hair eventually. She'd have to wait until the Holidays to go home in order to find some she wanted, and she'd have to sneak that, because she doubted her parents would be huge fans of it, even if the dye wouldn't be there forever. They were pretty strict about things like that, and Rosie didn't feel like getting in trouble about asking.

She supposed they'd just have to find out, if she ended up dyeing it, when she came back for the summer. Unless it would be washed out by then, she didn't know how that would work.
