An Unusual Feeling
With gauze and bandages in hand Keegan quickly escaped the medical wing with nothing but a bruised jaw and scuff on his elbow, bruises all over his torso and a bleeding knee which he hid under robes. His black pointed hat, which he often thought looked utterly ridiculous but was glad for it now, as it hid his injuries, still walking with a limp he made his way to the girl's second floor's bathrooms of Hogwarts, a place-if he wasn't in the owlery visiting his beloved tawny owl, Eilonwy or hiding perched some place on a high window ledge was- he often was. It was abandoned most of the time, thankfully making it the perfect place to hide, that is if moaning myrtle didn't bother him. He's told her off so many times the wailing apparition eventually stopped. He opened the door to the dingy old bathroom, and hid in one of the stalls, putting his feet up so nobody would see him as he started tending to his injuries, the muggle way. Much to Madam McLaughlin's disapproval. The thing about Keegan was that he hated magic. All it had ever done to him was hurt him. Because Keegan was magic, he had to leave his dad for months on end, without a clue where he'd been. It'd been a few weeks since Lev had owled Keegan, and it worried the young boy. But he couldn't worry about that right now. He'd taken a nasty hit in Defense Against the Dark Arts, which to his misfortune was a practical day. Keegan washed the blood off with some of the water from the sink and started bandaging his knee and elbow, rubbing some ointment he snatched on his jaw and other various injuries, which were made by magic. Whilst practicing defence charms his opponent, a Gryffindor pelted Keegan with magically made stones, before Keegan could even use a disarming spell. He rubbed his eyes.
"fu-, bloody hell-," Keegan wiped his eyes sniffling. He didn't have what it took to be a wizard. He didn't know why they hadn't expelled him yet. Keegan let out another sob. He wasn't crying because of the pain of the stones, although he wanted to. He was crying due to a different reason altogether. Keegan curled up tightly on the toilet burying his face in his arms. He missed his dad. He missed the scent of tobacco and the sound of his dad's voice. He missed traveling and not worrying about anything other than surviving. It was simpler. He missed the simplicity of his muggle life. He wished he never knew about any of this. It was an unusual feeling, much like his dad, he was good at pushing his emotions down. He wasn't used to having emotional outburst. He hoped nobody would come in and see him like this, the thought horrified him. He wiped his eyes a final time hoping it would cover up his splotchy face as he went to leave the stall.

______________________§___________________ReducioAzrael is NOT a dhampir or a vampire, he's just weird, his skin is sensitive to the sun because he and his family are loners and prefer going out sometimes at night only because it usually means that not a lot of people are around, which has caused his skin to not get used to the sun properly and thus now it gets red and irritated when he's out during the day if he doesn't have any protection from the sun- yes, he's considered unsettling and eerie but it's not his aura, it's his eyes, they're big and owl like and he has a bad habit of accidentally spacing out and staring at people intently when they talk, so people consider him eerie, this was placed here to prevent misunderstandings.
______________________§___________________It's not uncommon to find a Holloway somewhere dark, musty and humid- it's the perfect environment for Azrael to mingle in without accidentally startling anyone...well, that only works sometimes- as of course, other people often seek out the abandoned toilets to hide in too.
Still, he doesn't think he's ever actually walked in on someone sniffling in there... So, like the curious boy he is- he slowly walked up to where the sound was coming from...his big, owl like eyes narrowing as he stared at the small door...he could hear someone sobbing.
Hopefully nothing bad had happened, but from the sound of it... someone was clearly pretty upset.
______________________••___________________§- "... excuse me, are you alright?"
______________________••__________________
Azrael asked through the stall door, voice as monotone as you could ask it to be...for people who don't know him it might even sound "apathetic" in a way...which isn't his intention at all, but it's not something he knows how to change... neither is he looking to do it of course, his parents taught him that he should never change himself for anyone.
The sounds coming from the stall sound oddly familiar...the pitch itself sounds like that of someone he's heard before...it's probably someone he knows.
And when he heard a small sob? That confirmed it... Azrael is good at remembering voices, tones and even small details others don't really notice...he knows how his friends sound, even when they're not talking... everyone's unique in that sense, you see.
_______________________••__________________§- "...hm, Keegan...did something happen?"
______________________••___________________he calmly asked, not yet trying to make him open the stall door...why would he?he knows people don't like it when others intrude in their spaces, especially when they're vulnerable... Azrael wouldn't want someone slamming open the door of where he's hiding in if he ever were to cry.
Not that he probably will, the farthest he's ever gone has been a small tear rolling down his cheek...the world would have to be ending for Azrael to ever actually full on sob.
But alas... hopefully Keegan is alright, even if he won't say it out loud... Azrael considers him a friend of his, and being friends with a Holloway means lifelong loyalty and care.

GO AWAY!" Keegan wanted to say. But then he heard the small monotone voice of his friend Azreal Holloway call out from behind the door Keegan opened the door slightly embarrassed, well, more then slightly. Thoroughly embarrased. He had the bandages wrapped poorly on his forehead and on the many bruises that covered his body. He looked curiously and slightly annoyed, and on edge. "Whut du yeh want, Azzie?" He said in a thick condescending tone. Although he was greatful it was his friend. Had it been someone else he wouldn't have come out. Or he would've pounded them. But it was Azrael. One of the only people who managed not to piss Keegan off. And the only person Keegan liked at this school. Even with it being a friend such as Azrael, he was still somewhat angry someone had walked in on him crying. He crossed his arms grimacing uncomfortable as he accidentally put a pressure on his bruises. He swallowed thickly his eyes still watery from his tears. A lump grew in the back of Keegan's throat as he stared at Azrael quietly, a pang in his chest forming as he pursed his lips holding back another whimper. The boy was still trying to keep from crying quickly forming into a frown. Although now his tears are now angry tears than anything. He had just been caught. Crying about something so childish. He was horrified Azrael would think him to be more immature. And he rubbed his eyes again standing his ground, eyebrows furrowing as the lump closed off his throat. He tensed his jaw, setting his teeth and swallowed thickly.

_____________________§____________________Well he's definitely upset, that's for sure.
And he's clearly trying not too cry too... Azrael's never had to actually comfort someone before, although he's always been told what he should do when someone's crying...so maybe what he learned could be useful right now? Hopefully, or this will be very awkward.
And Azrael doesn't want to make things awkward for someone who's already upset- especially when that someone is his friend...a friend that Azrael values deeply.
So, he asks the first thing that comes to mind.
______________________••___________________§- "...do you want a hug?"
______________________••___________________Azrael calmly asked, his eyes slowly trailing down to his injuries...did he get into a fight with someone? Maybe lost a duel? He can't think of any other reason as to why he would be so beat up...or maybe he fell? He has a few bruises here and there...
Still, he won't know if he doesn't ask.
____________________••_____________________§- "...Did you fight someone?... perhaps lost a duel? Or maybe fell somewhere?"
___________________••______________________Azrael asked, blinking for the first time in several minutes as he waited for both of his questions to be answered...he should probably help him get to the hospital wing if he hasn't gone there yet.
...it DOES look like it would take a bit of effort though...after all, Keegan is pretty upset...so it would make sense if he didn't want to go- or if he was too upset to actually get out of the bathroom.
So maybe waiting would be the better choice...at least until he calms down a little bit.
Hopefully Azrael can help him feel better, he may be calm...but he doesn't enjoy seeing his friends upset, even if he won't say it out loud.
For now though, he'll just have to wait and see if Keegan is willing to talk about it.

Keegan thought long and hard. A. Few moments passed as he composed himself rubbing his eyes, again "n-no m'fine....,"... keegan sniffled scrunching his nose and rubbing his eyes. Looking at the boy again. All though Azrael's eyes were wide and seemed 1,000 yards away Keegan knew that's just how the other young wizard was. He was still listening, and concerned. Keegan could tell somewhow. "No...i got upset about meh dad...he hasn't replied to any of mah let'e'rs...elionwy hasn't behn back in a week I Just...i just miss him-my dad i mean..." keegan rubbed his eyes his acdent getting thicker as he got more emotional. It was definitely harder to understand what keegan was saying, especially with the cracks in his voice. "I've neveh been moe than a couple days awayh from Lev before-...i miss him...-a-and elionwy," keegan choked up rubbing his face furiously. ....it's ...it's stupid...feck-"Keegan mumbled breathless."i don't know why 'm tellin ya allt his" Keegan's eyes darted to the side for a breif moment before his face fell onto Azrael. His jaw clenching again as he sniffled trying his best to keep strong and keep his tough appearance up..but then Keegan whispered ever so quietly..." ah hug sunds nice s'pose....," keegan muttered hoarsly, saying the last part with trepidation, eyeing Azrael, with a longing, nervous expression, cautious.

________________________§_________________In a surprisingly gentle way, Azrael placed a hand on Keegan's shoulder, bringing him closer until they were finally hugging.
His skin was surprisingly warm despite looking like he belonged in a winter wonderland...and most of the time, he IS cold- but he hasn't brought his umbrella with him that morning so his skin naturally warmed up without the constant cold on him...he didn't enjoy it, but he wasn't one to complain loudly anyway.
Without pulling away from the hug, Azrael quietly spoke up...
______________________••___________________§- "... Perhaps he simply hasn't had time to respond...maybe Eilonwy is simply taking a bit longer than usual, My owl does the same thing sometimes... especially when there's bad weather- I understand why you miss him, after all... having to leave everything you've ever known for something completely different and new can be pretty overwhelming...and lonely, more often than not."
______________________••___________________He paused, as if thinking for a moment, before looking up and speaking up again.
_______________________••__________________§- "...I don't know your father, but I feel confident to assume that he would be proud of you if he could see you right now, regardless of where he is- I'm sure he also thinks about you every day...and I'm more than sure that if he could see you right now, he wouldn't want you to be upset...not because you're not allowed to be- but because you deserve to enjoy what you've been offered here at Hogwarts."
______________________§__________________
Calmly, Azrael reached up, wiping a tear rolling down Keegan's cheek away...it's something his own mother used to do when he was a kid, while he didn't cry much as a little kid (if at all), he can remember once when he became afraid after his mother took a bit too long to come back from her nighttime stroll, and he was afraid something happened to her ..and so when she came back? He couldn't help but sniffle a little bit...
He still remembers how she wiped his tears away, how comforted he felt when she did...so maybe It would help Keegan too? Hopefully.
______________________••___________________§- "...if you ever miss anyone, or are upset for a reason...you can always feel free to come find me."
______________________••___________________He gently pulled away from the hug, titling his head- hoping that what he said had helped Keegan feel better, even if just slightly...of course, he doesn't expect Keegan to bounce back immediately- that would be unrealistic.
But hopefully his words managed to help him just enough to get through the rest of the day.
"The Sun's shadow knows no fear, no dawn. Is the watcher always watched, or simply drawn?"
An Unusual Feeling
Keegan had always been a touchy-feeling person so he was greatful for the offer. He had also always been a loud brash yob. He wasn't normally like this at all. He never was the one trembling in another's arms, burying his face in the wizard's neck slumping against him. But there the boy was. Doing just that. Azrael had pulled away from keegan and mumbled something Keegan couldn't really hear and wiped the tears still falling from his face. Keegan sniffled and looked to the side standing up straighter. azrael had whispered to Keegan. The tall mess of a wizard swallowed thickly, feeling a strange feeling rise up from his stomach into his neck, releasing the built-up tension. Keegan rubbed his eyes furiously again and gave Azrael his charming side grin. Azrael seemed to always know what to say. The other pale boy pulled away from the hug. "Y'thenk so?" Keegan looked at Azrael still grinning even though he felt like a trainwreck. He was grateful he didn't lash out at Azrael for walking in on him, he crossed his arms staring at the pale boy for a few seconds.
"Thank yeh," Keegan replied softly his voice still hoarse from crying but his lip still curled up and his face became less splotchy. The special glint had returned to Keegan's eyes as he laughed slightly. This was dangerous though. Keegan had never really had a friend like this before. He didn't want to mess this up. He didn't want Azrael to see him less than.

_______________________§__________________Azrael simply nodded, taking out a small handkerchief from his vest pocket and offering it to Keegan so he could wipe his face properly without irritating his skin.
It's not every day Azrael gets to comfort someone- after all, he's not exactly the most comforting looking person...he honestly looks like he'd dissapear the second he even sees anyone crying, which obviously isn't true at all... that's just how many people see him.
Now Keegan is of course a different story...they met each other on the Hogwarts express, and have built up trust from from then on.
So naturally, Azrael is way more inclined to actually comfort his friend instead of waiting for a signal that it's okay to do so.
_____________________••____________________§- "...you don't have to thank me....again, if you ever need me- don't be afraid to come find me...I'm usually anywhere dark and quiet, it won't be hard to find me."
______________________••___________________yeah, there's really no way to ever convince him to hang around normal spots in the castle...it's like trying to drag a cat into a bath, you'll have to drag him kicking and screaming to ever have a chance of seeing him around in the corridors or courtyard.
Of course, no one's ever actually gonna do that...not when he already stares intently at you whenever anyone ever even breaths near him.
So now hopefully, he helped Keegan feel better... otherwise- well...he doesn't really know what he'd do then, probably nothing, maybe just wait it out? Or maybe comfort him some more? Probably something along those lines.

Keegan took his handkerchief, his throat bobbing up and down. Wipping his face and crossed his arms his hand clamped tightly around the handkercheif, stuffing it in his pocket gently. "Tell anyone about this and you're dead, Azrael," Keegan said, without much bite. He looked down and rubbed his nose. Keegan chewed his lip and rubbed the bruises on his torso, grumbling. They started hurting now after the adrenaline wore off. Fuck-.... Keegan hoped Azrael didn't notice, and he smiled gently at Azrael, eyes soft. He just simply stared at the boy and coughed. "We should uh...probably get goin' yeah?," Keegan didn't want to spend another moment in the dingy girls bathroom any longer, In case anyone walked in and saw the two and made assumptions about them. The black and blue battered boy mumbled rubbing the back of his head. "I still have-, Uhg....potions,"...Keegan loathed potions. But he was willing to suffer through an hour of stirring something that will probably blow up in his face, to this. Keegan shivered thinking about the cold dingy dungeon. He was never the best at following directions. That's when Keegan realized he probably had sobbed his way through the class anyways. and it wouldn't be worth going as it would almost be over. "Actually, it's lunch time innit?" Keegan finally seemed to compose himself, standing a bit taller than the other boy.

_______________________§__________________ReducioOOC notes: hey Keegan! So sorry for the delay, my aunt recently passed and I haven't had all that much motivation to write.
_______________________§__________________Azrael's eyes narrowed as he was told to not tell anyone...who would he even tell? It's not like he had anyone to tell... still, it's not like Keegan knows that- and even if he DID have anyone to tell, he'd never actually do it.
Azrael never let's anything his friends or family told him escape his mouth, he barely talks if anything...so he would never actually intentionally tell someone about what just happened, after all- he'd be betraying Keegan's trust if he did...and that's the last thing he wants to do.
______________________••___________________§- "...I would never tell anyone... either way, it's not like I have anyone to tell even if I wanted to...if, that makes it any better."
______________________••___________________Azrael said with a slight shrug, he's not bothered by his lack of friendships- if anything, he looks quite comfortable as he says it...he only has a handful of close friends, and he wouldn't change that for the world.
And as for it being lunch time? Well, that would have to wait... especially after Azrael noticed Keegan's injuries- he's not about to let him go out while actively wincing.
_____________________••____________________§- "...we should head to the infirmary, I can go with you if you don't wish to go alone...but your wounds might get infected if not treated correctly."
_____________________••____________________Like always, Azrael's stoic expression didn't really give away his concern (although, if you look closely enough- anyone who knows him can see that his pupils are smaller than usual, that's his "concerned" expression) all that well.
Still, he most definitely IS concerned.. especially given the fact that Keegan doesn't seem to want to head to the infirmary, perhaps he's shy about it? Maybe tagging along with him might help.
Still, the muggle bandages on his arms don't seem to make much sense to Azrael...he won't judge though, there's always a reason behind why people do things.
