| xxx | “Anyways,” she said, breaking the silence. “Let us go to our class now. It is almost time, and we wouldn’t want to be late, would we?” she continued, taking Ada’s hand and dragging her toward Transfiguration. The two made their way from the Great Hall up to the Transfiguration classroom. The halls were dim and crowded with students, all hurrying toward their first period of the day. Voices overlapped in a constant stream of chatter, laughter, and complaints, the clamor echoing through the stone corridors and making the noise seem almost twice as loud. Despite not liking to be led around, Ada let it happen. Besides, she only stood about as high as Lily’s chin; therefore, she could barely see anything with all the people pressing in around her. Lily, taller and far more confident in her stride, was clearly more qualified to lead the way. As they walked, Ada fingered the pocket of her robe. There, her wand. The willow wood felt smooth beneath her fingertips, the familiar carving. “Do you like Transfiguration?” Ada asked as she was dragged toward her first class. She wasn’t usually one for small talk, but it seemed more polite than walking in silence. Her pale green eyes darted around the corridor until they finally landed on what she had been searching for - the wooden door of the Transfiguration classroom. | xxx |
