Cloudy, around 11 degrees C
Private to @Mildred Wilson and @Persephone BarretIt was a cloudy day, but a pleasant temperature. Without sunlight shining in her eyes, she could do activities more easily. Before long, she had grabbed a book and decided to go out. Why not take an opportunity to relax? There was a lot going on in the school, and she was willing to seize this rare opportunity when it came about. Her cat, Apollo, padded alongside her as she made her way to the grounds.
She settled down, making sure that Apollo was with her and was also settling down. Taking a deep breath, she opened the book, flicking the pages to her spot and beginning to read. Reading was an activity that she did very frequently, as it helped her to gain more knowledge. Glancing around a final time to make sure that there was nothing she needed to pay attention, she let herself get lost in her book.
She was unaware of the fact that Apollo decided that he was bored with Ruby's reading. He wanted entertainment, and he wanted it now. He was too curious to just let all these interesting smells and noises pass him by! He wandered away—not far at first, but he pounced when he heard a rustling sound and started trotting further away.~ * ~

Mildred looked longingly at the sky, she hoped it would rain. She loved it when it rained and what it brought, she would watch children run outside and jump and play in the puddles- often the sound of children playing outside tempted her although the firm look her mother gave her forced her to go back into her room. The actual rain part wasn't her favorite although the sound of rain falling against her window was nice. It was what happened after rain that Mildred loved, rainbows.
She found hope and beauty in rain, and how when it rained; skies would darken, people would mope, and it seemed like the world was in such a dark situation however after everything- the skies will clear, and a beautiful rainbow would burst out signifying hope- at least that what it meant to her anyways.
Hope was something she needed more than ever, after the failure of her party she wondered just what was she thinking? she often had the habit of doing this often, making and doing everything for people- she'd often pour her whole soul into making things for people, and for something to go wrong. She wondered should she stop doing all of this? making banners, planning birthdays- just caring in general? did anyone even appreciate it?
She sighed as she walked into the grounds, looking for anything that would boost her spirits when she saw something unusual walk past her. She had to rub her eyes and blink a few times to make sure she was seeing clearly, there was a cat walking by her. She always had a soft spot for cats, despite the fact that she never had one before they were however very cute and she begged her parents for one endlessly, to stop her wailing they gave her a cat doll which perhaps started her stuffed animal phase.
What did people do normally to get cat's attention? she crouched down and laid out her hand, "Psps... here kitty kitty!" she looked like an absolute moron but she really wanted to cat to come near her- sadly the cat walked further away. She got up and wondered what should she do? and most importantly did the cat have an owner? she looked around and didn't see anyone that was looking for a cat, if they had brought their cat out they would have been playing with it or something right? She decided to follow the cat.
The cat in question was a lovely silver with black stripes? or rather patches? black marks on its body, it was definitely a beautiful cat a shame that she was planning on stealing it. Of course, there was logic to her madness, it was clear the owner didn't really want them right? they didn't even notice it left... although she herself, had a bad habit of getting zoned out. If the owner truly wanted the cat back she'd give it back but for now it was hers.
After following the cat for a little bit, it had stopped. Mildred walked very quietly towards the cat to make she wouldn't spook it, after nearing the cat she picked it up. "Aha! Aren't you a pretty one! I'll call you... Apple!" The cat didn't seem too happy at her due to the hissing it did, but that was another issue for another day. What should she do now? she wasn't sure but perhaps she'd walk around?

Thievery was a petty crime, reserved solely for those desperate to maintain an aura of criminality, a feigned one composed of lies and misdemeanors. To indulge in such denigrating activities would discredit the very concept of rebellion. This wasn’t to say Persephone had never stolen anything, as life called for action when said action was due, but it wasn’t a contributor to the reputation the girl carefully obtained. It was a direct step in pursuit of a higher crime, one unforgettable and legendary in nature. There were certain cases of robbers [Bonnie and Clyde, if you will?] that made their mark on history, a branding on the crime that would last forevermore.
Pathetic. Why didn’t they do something actually worthwhile? Worse than that, rarely did the felony hold any passion or reason, though it breathed methodical habits. Persy leaned left and right on that tight walk, balancing perfectly in the center of such discourse.
Walking along the Grounds, the blonde soaked the temperature and atmosphere the sky bled; it was a solemn day, decorated meticulously with greying clouds that threatened a downpour. A shadow cast over, darkening the entire scenery in a shade that looked painfully familiar to Persephone, like a window to what resided in her soul. The need for adrenaline was as strong as it was everyday, vein coursing with desires and wants that would never be fulfilled. Starvation was deadly, widely attended to, but what about deficiency of life? To die without reason?
A slow exhale of breath escaped as the snake’s eyes fell upon a measly mouse that lurked nearby, a feline entangled in its arms. Several moments of registration passed before the face was connected to a previous interaction, one that was faded from memory like the sunshine above. For a lingering moment, her mind wandered about, curious as to why some memories remained so vibrant in grey, while others dimmed to nothing but blackness and silhouettes moving about. Importance couldn’t have been the answer to such a philosophical question, as the thoughts that clutched weren’t significant. Not now, at the very least.
“Stuffed animal girl,” Persephone breathed as she edged closer to the idiot and the cat, “...I see you’ve moved from inanimate to animate huh? If you’re going to steal a cat, at least be less obvious.”
Perhaps it was somewhat cruel of the young Slytherin to accuse a archetypal Hufflepuff of such a dastardly crime. Without realizing, her head shook in response to her own thoughts; no, it was either animal theft or jaywalking for a badger. Persy ran her pale fingers through her hair, small knots fighting against the current but quickly obliging. Small phrases danced in the blonde’s head, testing each for the required tone with a subtle move of her lips until eventually, her voice arose in the thickening silence.
“Maybe you should drink milk out of the carton before we move on to theft.”
