Percival had been silent for maybe a minute or so, his gaze still on Victor as he looked around the room in confusion "I..." his voice trailed off a bit. "I guess I will be heading... out?" said the boy as he started to walk past him. Percy slowly looked to the floor and grinned slightly, not even bothering to stop him as he went past. It wasn't because he had given up, but the fact that Dan was for sure going to prevent him from taking a step outside of that room. And sure enough, Dan did just that "An' where do ye think YER goin'? 'Til this is sorted out, NO ONE'S leavin'. An' of ALL people, yer sure as hell not. I'm not gonna scour the whole of the damn castle lookin' fer yer desertin' arse, ye slimy little %@#. An' trust me lad, ye don' want me to hafta come lookin' fer ye again." said the boy in an almost impossible to understand accent, something of which made Percy twitch in annoyance. However, he wasn't the only telling him to stay. The girl who defended him also wasn't finished with her questioning.

Gray was still turned the other way and thinking about what the boy said, he mentioned something about as if someone was trying to get in the common room before hand, a fact which he didn't think was addressed before. However, his thoughts would soon be interrupted by obnoxious shouting, a scene which he wished to not get involved in, since it wasn't to do with the task at hand. After a few more seconds he turned back to face the group, his attention catching the departure of a girl who just exited the bathroom, that was one less person to worry about...

He could tell Dan was getting increasingly agitated by Victor as time went by, so it was probably best to get the information out of him before Dan ripped him apart "Hey Dan, why dont you just cool your head down for a sec" he said to him as he walked from behind Victor, unimpressed by the way Dan had been handling things "Take a deep breath of your inhaler and step back would you? i'm sure no one wants you to break him in two before we get some sort of information." he said with a straight face, unknowing if he was being sarcastic or serious with that comment. And the inhaler? if he didn't have one he could probably use one for sure, with the amount of gibberish he says in one minute "Victor, would you mind elaborating about what you said on someone trying to get in before the spider attack? was their anything else you noticed?" asked Percy who soon folded his arms in front of Dan as he still had his gaze on him.

“This is only a foretaste of what is to come, and only the shadow of what is going to be.”

It surprised Jack to notice Victor was willing to try to threaten his antagonists, but he wondered if the third-year was simply bluffing or if he would have actually meant to carry something out if he was afraid enough. If so, the first-year would have thought he might have done something by now, though. However, the way that Victor claimed to not know what he was talking about when he spoke of the differences in his boy temperature and weight only heightened Jack's suspicions. Surely he had to know...didn't he? But then why did his gaze appear confused?

"There's nothing wrong with me that I can't handle," the redhead protested when the upperclassman drew attention to his difficulties in moving and speaking. "Otherwise I wouldn't have come here in the first place."

Before he or the others could say more, however, Opeila immediately gasped and fell to her knees.

"Seilun...?!"

He would have gone to her, but he didn't trust himself to move from where he leaned against the sink. Besides, that other Slytherin girl had gone to her side instead...and...slapped her. What the hell?

Before that, though, Jack thought he heard enough to piece together a few things. One made the words Opeila spoke - the ones that did not seem her own - sound almost like a conversation he thought he could guess at the context of. One of the conversations, anyway; there seemed to be more than one, but since one girl was voicing all three of them, it was hard to tell. He would have to ask her about that later, but for now, the important thing was to make sure she was okay.

Percival's comments to Victor regarding Opeila and Jack caused the redhead's attention to snap back to his peer. What was he doing? He sounded like some villain who thought he could use the other two as leverage to make Victor talk, but how would that have possibly persuaded the third-year to do anything? It wasn't as though Victor giving them any information would help him or Opeila any; at least, Jack didn't think so. 'Stop their suffering'? When Percival probably didn't even know the cause? Interesting tactic, but Jack doubted it would bear any fruit, especially because he doubted Victor's predicament had anything to do with his or Opeila's own. The third-year's response to Percival only supported Jack's doubts.

Jack closed his eyes briefly, gritting his teeth as he tried to recollect himself. Too much was happening all at once. He needed a moment to regain his composure. In that time, Victor said something about heading out, which immediately put all the others on edge again. Jack was again concerned that, amid all the tension and desperation, someone would do something they regretted.

When hazel eyes opened again, he saw Dan step in Victor's path, still spewing cuss words and threats, but not actually doing anything. Opeila seemed to be quarreling a bit with her fellow first-year female, and after a sour exchange of words, the latter left. However, Opeila was also commanding Victor to stay in words less gentle than before, stressing the tension in the situation. Then Percival spoke up again, advising the second-year to calm down before he 'broke Victor in two' trying to get information.

Wonderful choice of words, Jack thought wryly, but he wasn't in much of a mood to speak more than necessary at this point. At least Percival seemed to keep a level head and remained more civil toward Victor, but Jack still felt they were wasting time, probably asking the wrong questions.

"I was there the first time before the spider attack," he told Percival. "Victor woke up because he heard banging on the door and thought someone had been locked out. A couple of other guys and I tried to stop him from opening the door and when I tried to move him away from it, he flew back even though I hardly used any force. He was also ice cold. But...maybe he doesn't seem to recall that or he didn't notice it." He could also have been playing dumb, but Jack didn't want to make everyone more suspicious of the guy than they already were.

He looked back at the third-year. "Victor...could you let one of the others touch you to check your temperature, please? Maybe try to move you while you try not to budge? We're just trying to get to the bottom of this. We don't mean you any harm." He paused, something else nagging at the back of his mind, but it was getting harder to concentrate.

Oh...right. "Also...Victor, someone put a note on the Common Room Door saying you'd be here at this location and the exact time. Do you know who might have known that? Because if it was someone you trusted, they could have meant to betray you."

When Kara answered, Opeila sighed. The other girl obviously didn't have a clue what Opeila was trying to tell her. She was tempted to not say anything to that. She didn't even give a damn what Kara thought of her, it was that Opeila thought that sometime she might get in her way again or get someone else injured by trying. "That's the point, Capricorn. Stop trying. Or at least try less hard. You're gonna mess things up if you keep acting without having a clue what is going on. You had no idea what was the matter with me, obviously didn't listen to what I said for even a second, or you wouldn't have done that. Or at least I hope that you wouldn't have, otherwise it's even worse. Watch, think, then act."
Then she would finally turn away from Kara. If she hated her, Opeila wouldn't stop her frome doing so. After all- weren't enemies the best teachers?

Jack in the meanwhile asked Victor a few questions. If one of them was allowed to feel his temperature or move him and something like that. Opeila remembered that Jack said that Victor had been very light, that he accidently flung him against a chair, when they were in the common room before the attack. But what would that tell them? Nothing.
"I don't believe that this is gonna help us...", she said slowly. She thought about what she had just heard. The voices in her head. Some sort of weird contract. A bargain...
"What I just said. Does it mean something to you? Do you have any idea, who that comes from? And to who it is directed?"
She looked at the third year. This couldn't be a coincidence, two visions in his presence. And then his hiding as well...

Tired, Nico had walked to the front door of the Common Room. Today had been abit rough and honestly she wanted to take a nap. But... A note?
Victor Moore will be in the Abandoned Bathrooms at 5pm on Tuesday.
It was already quite abit past 5pm. The Prefect had trouble recalling the name. Victor? Was.. it one of the Slytherin students? Kind of vague. Surely there- Oh right.. his last name was right there. It still didn't ring much of a bell. Swiftly, the Prefect removed the paper from the door. Maybe she should go check. The chances were high that she wasn't the first to see this note. Sigh. That before-dinner nap would have to wait.

The abandoned bathrooms. She felt grateful that her legs got used to the many stairs that led from deep within the Slytherin Quarters. Atleast it wouldn't make her that much more tired.

Reaching up the stairs, nearing the Abandoned Bathrooms, a familiar sight stormed out. Kara...Capricorn. Nico eyed her as she speedwalked away. Strange. She didn't think much of it and carefully walked in. On her way in, she could already hear that this place wasn't 'abandoned' anymore. 'Hm..? I-Is everything okey? What's going on?'

The dhampir recognised Jack Burnett first. Oddly enough, the prefect didn't know many Slytherin boys. But then again... Why would she even come close to the Boys Dormitory.

Unsure of what was taking place, she carefully closed the door behind her. There was no need for more students to join in until she knew what was taking place. 'I'm sorry to intrude but... Has anyone seen Victor..' She quickly looked down at the note, double checking his name.' Victor.. Moore?'

I was going to get my skinny ass out of there. I would nervously make my way towards the door, past @Percival Gray. He did not stop me, I was thankful. The angry Irish lad, @Dan Palmer however would not let me pass as he stepped in front of me.

"An' where do ye think YER goin'? 'Til this is sorted out, NO ONE'S leavin'. An' of ALL people, yer sure as hell not. I'm not gonna scour the whole of the damn castle lookin' fer yer desertin' arse, ye slimy little %@#. An' trust me lad, ye don' want me to hafta come lookin' fer ye again."

Had I been the violent type, considering he was blocking my exit purposefully, I would have pushed the Quidditch Captain out of my way. I was not that type of man, never was. "You forgot the part where you chased me down the hall with your wand in your hand," I looked up and down the first year. "Thankfully not the one from y-your pants, but still!" I retorted, reminding Dan of the fact that I was the one being chased and perhaps why I left. That I left before shit went down and he did too. "Why would I-I come back out for you... for any of you?" An incredibly basic question, one that they were too selfish to consider and I had a hard time bringing to words. My voice shook as I tried to assert myself.

"Victor, you stay right here."

Seizure girl, @Opeila Seilun demanded after she finished berating @Kara Capricorn for her beating.

"We're not done here yet."

Opeila declared. She did not use physical threats, but her support of Dan was enough to convey the same message.

"Hey Dan, why dont you just cool your head down for a sec"

Percival Gray called for cooler heads to prevail as he walked behind me. I felt a tension from being surrounded, not that it was much better being stuck in a corner with my back against the wall. I tensed, as if I was waiting for impact, not that he suggested a beat-down.

"Take a deep breath of your inhaler and step back would you? i'm sure no one wants you to break him in two before we get some sort of information."

...Just yet

My incentive to talk? I was not sure if there really was one, once I talked then the unhinged one would just wail on me while his snake friends watched.

"Victor, would you mind elaborating about what you said on someone trying to get in before the spider attack? was their anything else you noticed?"

Percival was behind me, so I could not see his intimidating pose. How I ended up in Slytherin I would never know, I was not the most cunning. At least I did not think I was.

I shook my head side to side, "no." It was a simple answer, "I seem to experience things differently," I looked to either side of Dan desperately looking for an escape. "It was the middle of the night and I heard a banging that woke me from a dead sleep around one... two..." I was not really sure of when it happened. "Bleary eyed I followed the sound of the noise to the common room, down the steps, through the dorm door... all of that. It was so loud," I recalled. "Others," I shook my head to get the cobwebs out. "Others came down too, I thought it was the very same noise that drew them out. Thought they were fucking with me when they said that they could not near someone boxing down our common room door. That or they wanted whoever was on the other side to suffer a night in the basement. I never believed that there was nothing there, I am just not much of a fighter." I admitted. I would rather avoid an uncomfortable situation, a dangerous bully, or a bad-time. In fact I was rather distressed that I lacked the courage, likely why I was never sorted into Gryffindor, to stand up to their bully ways.

"I was there the first time before the spider attack."

The redhead, @Jack Burnett claimed. I was afraid as he started to talk. Was he going to somehow twist my words? Change what happened?

"Victor woke up because he heard banging on the door and thought someone had been locked out. A couple of other guys and I tried to stop him from opening the door and when I tried to move him away from it, he flew back even though I hardly used any force. He was also ice cold. But...maybe he doesn't seem to recall that or he didn't notice it."

"I have no idea what you're talking about," I claimed. "It was cold," in terms of ambient temperature. "And you were like some comic book character," I continued.

"Victor...could you let one of the others touch you to check your temperature, please? Maybe try to move you while you try not to budge? We're just trying to get to the bottom of this. We don't mean you any harm."

I did not believe him. Mean me no harm. There seemed to be some harmful intent in here. This sounded like something out of a weird, poorly written fan-fiction that I would never admit to reading.  "Not weird touching..." I grumbled, there was a defeatist tone to my voice as I submitted to the potential tactile experiment.

If I was touched.
Ice Cold

Like someone was fondling a corpse.

If I was pushed.

It would be as if I was not even there. As if they pushed against a falling feather. It was likely that I would fall as if I was struck violently. It might be easy to subscribe it to dramatics, but I would be bleeding from wherever it was that struck the ground, wall or stall.

"I don't believe that this is gonna help us..."

Opeila claimed. If they did any of those things, if any answers were gleaned from my assault/assessment that may or may not have happened, I do not know. It is not as if I would believe them if they claimed I was as cold as ice. It was not as if I would believe them if they claimed that they did not intend to assail me with their might. Even if I did, what could possibly be learned from this beyond the fact that they have brute strength and I could use a sweater.

"What I just said. Does it mean something to you? Do you have any idea, who that comes from? And to who it is directed?"

Was she talking to me? She was talking to herself, then she was yelling at the girl, then she told me that there was more to say. Then she was talking to... I think the other people in the bathroom. Then... Me? Dan? Percy? The now absent Kara? "I don't know? The girl you yelled at?" I was legitimately confused. Perhaps a bit overwhelmed. Not even entirely sure of how forthcoming I wanted to be, my incentive was an earlier ass-beating if I took what Percival said to heart.

"Also...Victor, someone put a note on the Common Room Door saying you'd be here at this location and the exact time. Do you know who might have known that? Because if it was someone you trusted, they could have meant to betray you."

The color drained from my face. If I was on the floor because some bully pushed me over or if I was standing upright, I would suddenly feel the cold Jack was talking about. This chill that washed over me and left my limbs heavy and numb. The only person that knew I was here was Vlad, he was the person I was waiting to meet. He was a no-show.

"You have got to be shitting me," there was an audible anger as well as a tone of disbelief. "Fucking..." my voice trailed off. I could not believe it. I did not want to. Why would he do something like that to me? He was my best friend! I took in a sharp breath. "Got no god-damned clue," yeah, there was a change in my demeanor. The way I carried myself. Even the words I used. I would pull myself to my feet if I was on the floor, otherwise I would stand a bit straighter than before. I clenched my fist, my knuckles turned white.

Fine, two can play at this game.

"Don't know anything about spiders attacking. Never did," I reiterated. "But I sometimes hear stuff, weird stuff. Then the world just goes to shit, but I never really know that it is that weird stuff until... after the fact," the world's vaguest, most evasive answer. But how else do you say -- I don't got a damned clue but weird noises result in bad things. "First time it happened... we wandered into the woods. Someone was calling Mary's name, at least that is what she heard. I heard... a scream for help. Wasn't the same, we both came. I ran, she took her time. Didn't know there were Whomping Willows in the woods," because there aren't. We got hurt real bad. Someone else was with us... some boy. I can't even remember his name, even his face," an eerie revelation to have. "But nobody else missed him either."

"Happened again a few months later. I saw someone die that day," I continued but blinked hard. "Justice was served, but no clue why I was there. I was there with Mary and some asshole," a bitterness to my voice. "Mary heard laughter. I heard..." my eyes were downcast "someone begging for help." I couldn't do anything. I could not have them. I did not know how. I did not have the power. I sighed. "There was this common room incident and a few others..." My shoulders slumped. "Just get the damn beating over with so I can get out of here." I gave them what they wanted, the very little that I knew.

As soon as Jack divulged the bit of information about the note with Victor's whereabouts stuck to the Common Room door, a visible change came over the third-year, and then an audiable one. Suddenly, the first-year wasn't sure whether he's said the right thing or the wrong thing, but whichever it was, it evidently made all the difference in the world to Victor.

As tight-lipped as he had been before, the dark-haired boy began to spill anything and everything he could seem to think of that might have had to do with whatever knowledge they might have wanted to know - strange happenings, events involving the woods and a someone named Mary, and then someone Victor watched die.

It was a lot to take in all at once, but the moment the other boy's shoulders slumped and he told them to get his beating over with, Jack didn't waste another instant. He wasn't sure for how many more he would be able to keep upright, anyway.

"Immobulus," he called, making the appropriate two-peaked motion with his wand as he pointed it at Dan.

Nico Shymane, one of the Slytherin prefects and probably the one he had encountered the most, was present. He was attempting to perform another spell on an upperclassman right in front of her, but that was a risk Jack felt was necessary to take. If he got detention for it, oh well. But he wasn't about to give anyone the chance to harm Victor regardless; especially not after both Dan and Percival had alluded to negative consequences befalling the third-year after he told them what they wanted to know.

Sure, Nico might have been able to prevent Dan or anyone else from trying to hurt him, but the dhampir girl had just arrived at the scene and there was still time in between her grasping what was going on and someone taking advantage of her confusion. Besides, why wait for someone else to do something when he could make sure it was done himself?

A prefect entered. Good god what a chaos.
Opeila hoped that the girl had at least hidden the note to stop this from becoming a house meeting.
She asked for Victor Moore. Opeila didn't react, she was in fact distracted by the boys, who actually seemed to lose it now.
Or... Jack did. When Victor had finished talking, her housemate fired a spell at Dan.
"What the-" Opeila looked at Jack, only just being able to hold back what she wanted to say, this was no moment for a discussion.
She shot a quick look at Percival, and then decided that it was the prefect's job to end this.
Instead she thought about what Victor said.
"You seem to know who ratted you out to all of house Slytherin.", she said, his reaction to the note at least gave her the inpression. "Care to share the name?"

He repeatedly mentioned someone called Mary... Then it came to Opeila. "I guess Mary is Marion, right? So it started with you and two other people but one of them died? And... the other ratted you out?" He had sounded so bitter talking about the other person, that Opeila was almost certain. She would just love to know who that was.
"So it is something with the three of you. Do you know if the third person hears things as well?"
...Or maybe that third person was the key to all this. He probably knew something. What other reason would he have to tell them where Victor and Marion where hiding? Did he control all this? Was this some stupid game, some distraction maybe?
"... Victor. It would be really good to hear who that third person is."

She thought about Jack's question again. If someone could touch Victor. Move him.
Suddenly it did seem important to her. If he was cursed, that might help to find out, what that curse was.

She walked over to the third year, feeling his forehead with the back of her hand. No weird touching, this was merely an observation. Opeila quickly pulled her hand back immediately, her eyes widened. Victor felt like death. He was icecold. "Alright...", she murmured to herself. She felt goosebumps spreading over her body. The first year was tense, she suddenly felt like she was in some sort of horrormovie.
She put her hands on Victor's shoulders and pushed him gently, not taking her hands of his shoulder. Opeila would catch him if he fell, she had not forgotten Jack saying how light Victor was in the common room.
It was good that she had held him, she almost fell forward as well because she had expected more of a barrier. It felt like she was pushing nothing.
Carefully she pulled Victor back up.
"I have no idea what is wrong.", she said, looking at the third year. "But if you want this to stop, I'd be more than willing to help you. What I think we need, is that third person."

After a long spiel from Victor, he wasnt convinced still. But, he was calmer. And none too soon, as Nico Shymane of all people came storming into the bathroom.

A prefect. How wonderful.

He basically ignored Nico, and went to touch Victor, only for Opeila to somehow do it too hard, and he acted as though he was in an anime, and got hit by the final main antagonist. Someone brutally overpowered. That... made no sense at all. And Opeilas reaction to touching him was... odd.

He was about to do it himself, when he saw that little rat bastard Jack move his wand. He spoke the word Immobulus, and Dan attempted to step out of the way. He hadn't even attacked Victor yet, and this insufferable little shit decided to pull a spell on him anyway.

Dan knew that either way, this would not end well for Jack. Either Dan would dodge, and Nico was going to bust him and give him detention, or it would hit Dan, Dan would swear eternal vengeance and misery upon Jack, and Nico would bust him and give him detention anyway.

It almost seemed like this little prick was trying desperately to protect Victor, despite no immediate actual threat being present. Now THAT may be worth looking into later.

Yes, what was said made a huge difference for the me. Betrayal in kind, but I could not let everything go, I still had important people to protect, namely Mary. She did not deserve any of this. Not that I did either, but if I could not protect myself I wanted to try and protect someone else. It was the least I could do.

"Immobulus."

Was that intended for me? I instinctively froze in place for a moment, not that I anticipated it to be painful but it was a reflex. I took a deep breath, felt my chest rise. No pain. I rolled my shoulders and lifted my downcast gaze. The spell came from the ginger with the fox-like eyes, @Jack Burnett. I nodded my head in appreciation as I realized what he had done. He had bound @Dan Palmer rather than myself. Not that I was safe by a long shot, @Percival Grey seemed irked still.

Unfortunately for both Jack and myself, Dan was not immobilized. A truth neither of them would know before Dan made his move, lashed out or demanded that the Prefect @Nico Shymane leveled some sort of consequence against Jack. That was to suggest she would feel so inclined. That she would not find Jack's efforts to have some sort of merit.

"You seem to know who ratted you out to all of house Slytherin."

Opeila Seilun would announce. She was right in her observation, I did know. I frowned a bit, it was not that I was hesitating but I was coming to terms with the fact that he had just betrayed my trust. That he intended to hurt me. That I had no idea why.

"Care to share the name?"

She was demanding an answer. One I had no inclination to deny her any longer.

"Vladimir Athanatos," I replied shamelessly. "I was supposed to meet him here," and instead here I am with all of you. I wondered why still of course. I had done nothing to deserve this. We had been friends since our first year. I had been nothing but loyal to him. I looked up to him, he was always the calmest, most level-headed. I deferred so much to him, he was the smart one. Me and Mary... we were just idiots that struggled to keep up.

"I guess Mary is Marion, right? So it started with you and two other people but one of them died? And... the other ratted you out?"

"No," I answered. I did not elaborate on what my no was in response to, perhaps everything. She was right, Mary was Marion but I did not want to drag her into this. My heart was still in my throat and like me, she was in hiding too. We were both... Shit! We were both dependent on Vladimir! I paled at this revelation. "Me, Mary and him. We did nothing besides stay up later than we should have. Wrong place, right time. Saw more than we wanted to see. Told an adult." An incredibly logical series of events. He shook his head a bit, feeling a bit agitated. He had no idea where Marion was. Was he trying to screw one of them over? Both? If so, why! The gears in his head were turning.

"So it is something with the three of you. Do you know if the third person hears things as well?"

She had her own line of questioning. More about him. "Who? Vlad? ...Yeah," I replied. I was not entirely certain, but you can't really ever be 100% certain of these things. I had met up with Marion more than one as a result of hearing strange noises.  "Yeah?" I repeated. "That was why we were there." There being the several coincidental meetings. The trauma that bound us.

"... Victor. It would be really good to hear who that third person is."

"Vladimir Athanatos" I clarified by giving her the full name. "A Ravenclaw third year," I added.

There was no reason to protect him.

"Alright..."

That was all she wanted? No, that was when things got weird. It was not bad-touching, but I still tensed when she rose her hand to my head. The icy chill was something she could feel immediately as it came off my skin. I sometimes felt the cold but not always. I did not feel particularly cold in my opinion, as far as I was aware I was 'normal' now. I was far from normal as she quickly realized. She would then push me like some sort of brute. She almost tossed me across the bathroom. The only thing that saved me was she-hulk's impressive strength as she prevented me from being launched into the far wall. I did lose my balance some.

"I have no idea what is wrong."

She concluded.

"But if you want this to stop, I'd be more than willing to help you. What I think we need, is that third person."

"He is an ass," I hissed the word ass. "But I doubt he has anything to do..." what do I even call this? A condition.
