A New Friend?
@Brooklyn Pierce
He walked over to a wall and sat down next to it, baseball in hand, and started tossing it into the air. He did not miss his family, he just missed always having someone to talk to. He leaned his head against the wall and closed his eyes. The courtyard was quite serene. Not quite, just peaceful. It reminded him of his old school. At my old school I never was without people to talk to...now...here I am. He sighed reliving his old memories.
He opened his eyes and looked around. He saw boys chasing each other, girls talking with one another, just everyone milling around, in their own little world. Perhaps Jacob liked it better this way, just sitting and observing. He thought about this for a while, but then decided against it. Nah...I would rather be the one everyone is watching, than the one watching everyone. He decided, if no one was going to talk to him, he would talk to people. Just...maybe not today, it being his first day and all. He wondered if anyone else was thinking of this sort of stuff like him. However, everyone in the courtyard was with someone else. At least, everyone he saw at tat moment.

A New Friend?
This leader towards the park, Brooke hoped for a little calm. Her brother was with these friends, and she... she had almost none. There was just one, her only friend, but she saw very little of it. She didn't see what could cheer her up right now. She only had one friend, in Slytherin, the house where she wanted, no, where she should be. She and her best friend Alexis no longer spoke because of the distance between them. When Brooklyn had moved to Oxford, she had promised Alexis that she would always speak to him. But she hadn't kept her promise, and she pointed it out to him. Finally in the park, she approached the Lake, the only place where she felt good here. After gazing at the water, thinking it should be a few feet below by now, she then headed for the empty Quidditch pitch. At that hour, there was nothing more surprising. On her way to the castle walls, she enjoyed watching people. She knew a lot about many students. Having a brother from another house was good. But the pupils of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and even those of her house remained a mystery to her. She didn't want friends in her house. No Mixed Bloods, or Mudblood. Following her usual route, she then headed for the castle walls, but her place was already taken.

A New Friend?
Jacob was still looking around when he noticed a blonde girl standing near him, looking at him. "Do you need something?" he asked, confused why she was looking at him. He suddenly felt an overwhelming amount of embarrassment for some reason. He almost never got embarrassed and when he did, it was only when he had done something really bad. However, he had not done anything wrong so he was confused. She was a Hufflepuff, at least according to her robes. Jacob could see why. Despite the scowl that, for some unknown reason to Jacob, was resting on her face, he could see a sort of softness in her eyes.
He decided he would introduce himself. He had a few friends already, but more would not hurt. He stood up and dusted himself off since the floor is quite dirty. "Uh hi! I am Jacob. Jacob Creek." he said to her, holding out his hand for a handshake. He smiled, to show her that he was a good person and nice to people he barely even knew. When he got closer, he noticed how cool her eyes were, an almost blue-grey. "Woah...you have cool eyes." He told her, only noticing after how weird that must sound. "S-sorry if that's weird." he said. For some reason he felt really flustered when he said this. He never felt flustered.

A New Friend?
Brooklyn was embarrassed by the boy's gaze on her. Yet a look had never embarrassed her. While she stood still, he stood up, held out his hand to Brooke and introduced himself as Jacob Creek was. "What a beautiful name," she thought. She was about to return his handshake when he said something that annoyed Brooke even more. Then he apologized, saying it was weird. She giggled and replied:
- No, it's not weird. I'm Brooklyn Pierce, but you can call me Brooke. You have beautiful eyes too.
Then she returned his handshake, but something wrong happened. Like an electric shock. She jerked slightly in surprise, then passed her gaze from their hands to the beautiful eyes of Jacob. Was it embarrassing? Yes. But a soft embarrassment, something pleasant. She had never known anything like this. She tried to hide her smile but failed. What was it? Why did she react like that? She felt like a child. She had been feeling weak for just a few seconds, and for the first time in her life. "We can share a wall, right?" She thought. In any case, if Jacob seemed as nice and ... and perfect especially as he looked. She was going to have a good time with her, she felt it.
It was something horrible, but it was so sweet and perfect. And it was new.
