Hopefully, since you signed up to be paired, haha. Writing is so much fun, too. Gives one the creativity to express their thoughts or let out your feelings. Or, just communicate. I thought I'd reach out to you first and just say hello.
Hello! My name is Jrue Peterson, your Owl Pal. You knew that already, but it felt like the right thing to say. I don't believe we have any classes together, or else your name would feel familiar. You're a 1st year, yes? or no... pardon if I'm wrong. I like your name. It is very charming, if you ask me. Rosalyn Willows... like the kind of name a Minister for Magic would hold, or a member of royalty. It's elegant. Very elegant. Are you elegant? I bet I could determine that based off of your handwriting, or your signature. Some people just have very elegant handwriting, and I think it tends to mirror an individuals personality. My handwriting isn't very elegant... very. I have practiced and perfected it a bit... Here's me writing your name-
Voila! Magnifique, no? I enchanted the owl so that it would write it out a bunch of times when you receive it.. My family grew up using minimal magic. Well, minimal in the means that only my mother was a Pure blood witch. My father is a non Magical muggle. He doesn't hate magic, he just doesn't understand it. You know? Well, I'm sure that depends on whether or not you're from a pure blood family or not..
Do you have any pets, or animals? I think animals are a very important part of human experience. Without animals our world would be so bleak. Like, we humans have only inhabited such a small portion of the world. Who thrones and claims dominion over the rest? Animals. They're also just.. adorable. I personally have a kitten, Skippyjon Jones. He's such a dork. My family deals with sheep and chickens, too. I live in Scotland, so it's the perfect place for sheep.

Hello! Firstly, I cannot tell you how excited I was to receive your letter. Much like you, I signed up for Quill Pals because I simply love to meet new people! I find that life is so much better with others by your side, and I loved the idea of getting to know someone without the pressure of being in person. I love to write as well, and this is the perfect combination of the two!
Thank you so much for reaching out! I'm feeling pretty swamped right now, between managing schoolwork, meeting new people, and trying to get used to this whole 'magic' thing. Don't get me wrong, I love everything about Hogwarts and the Magical World, but it's just a lot, you know? I really love -.\_':`~~`
Whoa, my apologies! My quill just died, and I couldn't get the marks to go away. Perhaps there is a spell for that, perhaps not. I guess I'll have to do some research on that, but I just switched colors for now! Anyways, what I was trying to say is that I really love being in a place where everyone else is similar to me, in the sense of magic, I mean. For years and years, I just thought that I was weird and there was something wrong with me, how I kept breaking vases when I was mad or sneezing bubbles when I was in a good mood. It's just...refreshing, I guess, to be around people who are like that too. It shows that maybe I'm not a mistake.

Yes, I am a first-year, excellent guess! I'd never thought of my name as elegant before, but I do suppose it has a nice ring to it...yours, however, is gorgeous. I don't believe I've ever seen a J and an R go right next to each other, but I just love the way it looks. Writing it out even now...Jr, JR, jr, I just love the curves with the dots and lines...anyways, thank you!
My handwriting isn't the best, and never has been. I have really tried, but it always seems to go together a bit. I'm not a super elegant person, but I guess in some ways I am? I love doing fancy things, like wearing dresses and doing my hair, but I also love getting my hands dirty and doing things, you know? Are you the same way, or do you prefer one thing over the other? I know a lot of people who are either very girly or very tomboy-ish, but I don't feel like I fall under one category perfectly.
Yes, I do understand growing up with minimal magic. Neither of my parents are magical, so I grew up, as you have already probably guessed, with no knowledge about this world. I am happy to be here, though, and loving everything about it! Except for mean people. They exist in the muggle world, too, but I just don't like how some people are so mean just because I'm a muggle-born. I mean, it's fine, I'm pretty hard to offend, but I still don't like it. Have you been bullied before? You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, no pressure!
I do have a family pet, named Murphy. He is a golden-retriever, and I love him very much! I want to get my own animal someday, perhaps a Half-Crup? Only time will tell! I find animals adorable too, and I love the name of your kitten! I am sure that Skippyjon Jones is so very cute! What made you pick that name? I live in England, and my family doesn't have a farm or anything. My friend, though, does, and we used to spend so much time playing in the fields! Ah, the joys of being younger.
Now, enough about me, I have a few questions for you! Ready?
What is your favorite color? Mine is pink, but like a light pink. What is your favorite food? I absolutely adore this potato soup my mum makes sometimes, it's delicious! What is your favorite subject? I love love love plants, and have so many in my dorm right now, so Herbology is my favorite so far! I'm even helping tutor someone in Herbology! I think plants are so cool and super fun to take care of! What about you?
