I love this question! And for me it varies a lot. Around the holidays I usually prefer the first book due to nostalgia. Otherwise I often prefer book five. In my opinion it seems less edited then the ones that came before, in a good way. Hard question, I think my favourite is Half Blood Prince, because we start to see some more about Snape's personality, and the part about the memories really got me involved.
