An uninvited guest
Saturday's lunch came as a welcome gift to Caradoc. The man had been running carrying around a grumbling belly all morning now, as he was forced to skip breakfast in an attempt to cover more paperwork by noon. Now, with his usual glee and spring to his step, he found himself finally entering the great hall to enjoy a nice and extensive meal. Nodding his head towards a handful of early arrivals in the hall, he smiled and walked up the stage at the end of the room. His usual seat would be found unoccupied, waiting for its usual master to arrive.
Sitting down and shoving the chair a little closer to the table, Caradoc took a quick glance across the hall. It seemed he was first to arrive as professor. And he could still count the number of students present on both his hands. Perhaps the main bulk was yet to return from the earlier quidditch game that had transpired this morning. He was curious who would have snatched the cup this year, thought the sport never really interested him. In fact, flying was a dreadful thing to do. He hated the feeling of his feet breaking lose from their shackles on earth and falling up in the air into the unknown hazzards of wind, open air and birds.
He shook his head whilst trying to shake the memories of his first flying lessons. Grabbing a few things to start with on his plate, he took comfort in knowing at least his stomach would be quiet again after this.

An uninvited guest
Lazarus Plott
A hand would attempt to rest on Head of House Browne's shoulder. "Excuse me," a quiet voice would announce. It was not a voice Caradoc knew well, but one he had heard before. Lazarus Plott, the Headmaster from Ilvermorny. His presence unannounced, but he had taken to the Quidditch Pitch earlier that day and announced the play by play from the field. Caradoc was not there, this would have been their first meeting this visit as he arrived on the grounds barely an hour before the game started.
There was something different about the showman. He was the type that liked to make a spectacle of things, but his arrival had no procession or fireworks, no attention-seeking behaviors or bedazzled attire. Well, he still stood out in terms of his garments even in a room off eccentrics. A cloak and gem colored, rich satin clothes, he was a man that liked to be noticed. "Can you tell me where I should sit?"
Before Caradoc could answer, he took a seat right next to the Hufflepuff Head of House. Lazarus raised a thoughtful finger and then pointed at the man, "uhhh... you're from Hufflepuff, right?" Just the man he was looking for.

An uninvited guest
Mid-bite, Caradoc was interrupted from enjoying his long-awaited meal. Looking at his shoulder there was now a hand. A hand attached to a man the Head of House would have never expected to see again this school year. Lazarus Plott, Headmaster of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A man who, by now, should have been home for a long time even by muggle transport.
Before Doc could mutter one word, the man had already taken his seat beside him. Reducing his eyes to mere slits as he turned his face towards the new arrival, the professor dropped his knife and leaned back into his chair. "I'm very sorry, err... mister... Plott was it? But I was not informed of your arrival." Clearing his throat before he continued down the conversation any further, Caradoc tried to recall any conversation him and the other Heads had on any future visitors. None came to mind and that fact worried the old badger. The question that followed a presumptuous entrance was as prompt breach in any required information that still needed to be regaled to the sole professor sitting at the table.
"Yes..." Caradoc replied with a wry smile to entertain the man that had disturbed his breakfast. "Ay, I am. Does that House mean anything to you, really? I know you Ilvermorny lot have a whole different set back home." With his stomach still growling underneath, the professor could not bare to keep himself from having at least one bite inside of him. With a smooth sweep of his fork, he planted one right in and munched away as he patiently waited for the other's reply.

t"I'm very sorry, err... mister... Plott was it? But I was not informed of your arrival."
Lazarus Plott
"Unless your Divination Professor, Miss... Benoit was it?" For a man of such flashy regalia, he seemed to have a decent memory. It did take a bit more than luck and want to get where he was in life. However he was not entirely up to date, the previous Divination Professor had been replaced these past few weeks. "Divined it in one of her crystal balls, yes... you would have been unaware," Plott admitted. Indeed, he was an uninvited guest here at Hogwarts. "I walked from Hogsmeade," he explained although he did not state the most important answer, that being why.
"Yes..."
Lazarus was more interested in the man's House than giving his own story. A strange diversion from the norm for the flamboyant Headmaster. "Caradoc Browne?" He seemed to wish to confirm the name of the man that he was sitting with. They had never had personal contact, Caradoc was better known to Lazarus by reputation. He let out a sigh, he wanted to say something as a look of worry had come over his face.
"Ay, I am. Does that House mean anything to you, really? I know you Ilvermorny lot have a whole different set back home."
"Different enough," hr admitted however Ilvermorny was strongly influenced by Hogwarts. But that was a diversion, a distraction from the points he wished, no he needed to discuss. "And no," to answer Caradoc's request. "Only of. However, I am concerned for... or rather over..." he searched for the right words to describe something that seemed utterly abstract. "One of your students and Solomon has failed to answer my letters," he explained. "Well, answer them with anything sensible," he sighed. "It was gibberish," he complained.
He waved his hand a bit in front of him as Caradoc potentially wolfing down his meal, trying to mentally clear the metaphorical board in front of him. "Short kid, sandy brown hair, dark eyes, looks like he might be 8 rather than 11.. from your house."

Eyes were narrowed once more. The headmaster's reply did not satisfy the badger's search for answers. He figured the man would not have had many dealing with Benoit in the time he had spent in the castle. She had not even been present at the Masquerade as far as Caradoc would remember. "You're awefully well informed..." The irishmen grumbled under his breath.
With what came next, the professors hands clenched on tight to the arms of his chair. His eyes lighting up with a flame mixed in curiosity and impatience. A face of insult would wrangle itself to the surface as Caradoc failed to keep up his smile. "What do you mean, a letter?" The words shot out short and firm, snapping aggressively. His spine straightening against the chair's back, Doc cocked his head to the side with glaring eyes. "And why would you. Of all people. Have dealings with one of my. Children?" He pursed his lips together until they were but a narrow mark on his face.
"Let me get this straight. Good man..." The Head of House twined his hands together as he spoke. "You arrive here at Hogwarts. Unannounced. Uninvited. You plump yer presemptious arse down on our chairs and start asking questions, while I was about to enjoy a fine meal I might add. And now you tell me you're corresponding with not just Solomon. But one of my students as well?"
A sigh escaped his body as he tried to calm down the nerves that were boiling up over this conversation. "I'd advise you to begin with explaining those matters. And perhaps then, I'll indulge you with whatever your business is here. Which is an entire other matter all together."
Whether it was his stomach speaking for him, or the fact one of his badgers was intertwined in all this, it all made Caradoc aggravated and uncomfortable. But now he was deadset to get his answers from a man that had no place here.

An uninvited guest
His response was aggressive, agitated and annoyed. After a brief berating, the Headmaster would stand up. He had not touched a thing. He had not filled his plate. The tines of his fork never pierced a morsel of food. "Seems like I am unwelcome," Lazarus commented. He did not sound distressed, but perhaps he seemed 'put out.' With a sigh he would slide the chair he had 'presumptuously' sat in back beneath the table. "Tell the kid... or not... that I'm looking for him," Lazarus instructed. If the man cared to share his interest with the youth or not, that would be his prerogative. The child stood out, he would not be incredibly hard to find. They had some unfinished business to discuss.
Lazarus Plott
"And." He stopped. "I have no answer," he claimed as he attempted to walk away. He was not Solomon's keeper and the matters between himself and the youth were of a private nature he was not privy to the details of. "Where can I find Solomon? Or is that another taboo topic?" There was an air of sarcasm in his voice. He shrugged, he was not expecting an answer from the irritable drab fellow. His cloak would billow behind him as if a breeze was present, there was none. The cloak was merely enchanted to do such for the flair and the drama. One of the remnants of his former facade.
"Nevermind, I know the way to his office," he seemed exasperated as he studied the Head of Houses' face. It was interesting to see such a gentle seeming man agitated. What did he know? Those furrowed brows, too full of worry burdened his face with age. Not becoming at all of a man of his station. Probably not much, he silently determined. A thin smile twitched at the corners of his mouth. First things first... find the little boy.

Caradoc's hand would latch itself onto the man's arm as he stood up straight to meet the man's eye-level. "Mister Plott... why are you here? You must understand this is highly unorthodox protocol?" His voice was calm and controlled. Clearing his throat a little as he stood next to the american, he smiled once again. "Headmaster Lear is currently on a private errand. His office is closed for the time being." The answer came smooth as ever, as Caradoc had trained himself well in citing the tidbit of news on the old man.
"My Hufflepuffs however, are of my concern entirely. A foreign headmaster having a private correspondence with an underage child is just... highly irregular. And unless given more information I can not allow you to set one foot closer to any of our students without proper reason." Caradoc kept his pose calm and gentle, though inside his mind was roaring with alarm bells. He would not dare to think of what this american was up to with Jake. Yes, Jake. The only eleven year old Hufflepuff who would so often be described as a toddler with a growth spurt. While Doc loved the boy's innocence, it could often make room for ignorance.
If it had been his daughter, he would have done the same. "Solomon has not informed any of the Heads of Houses of your arrival. So I will handle your bedding for the night and take note of your presence in the castle. Be a guest of Hogwarts as Ilvermorny has always been welcome." He shifted a bit closer with gritted teeth silently hissing towards the flamboyantly dressed man.
"But if I see or hear you've been loitering with one of my students without permition..." He stopped towards the end of his sentence. He felt no need to clarify.
