A cloud of soft grey swirled gracefully within the captivity of the glass orb, its subtle dance, alluring and captivating in an almost entrancing way. Yet her frustration only grew as she stared at the crystal ball a few inches before her face. What was she expected to find inside a ball made of glass? It was nothing fancy and merely an ordinary object. Despite its mundanity, it was one of the more prominent objects in the less mundane subject of divination. Scrying as it was called.

All she saw were the same swirls of smoke, that only aggravated her mood. Her patience, it was slowly running dry. With a swift movement, Aurelia took out the divination textbook and set it in front of her, next to the glass ball. It was either that she was not scrying right or that scrying itself was all but a joke. Though, even if she believed so, there were too many sources to back up against her ever-growing doubt that the practice was fake.

Perhaps for the dozenth time, the Monster Hunter began scanning through the text within the book's many pages. So far, she performed the steps correctly. To be honest, glancing into a ball was becoming impossibly tiresome.

Procrastination was really eating at Tyranni recently. She found her mind wandering often. Thoughts resorting back to events over the past couple months at Hogwarts. Could she have done something different? Prevented so many students from being attacked? What did her first and only real vision so far mean? Would it have helped. She needed to get some homework done. Falling behind in her classes was not an option. Her parents had already chided her for her slacking. As she walked into the study room and glanced around to find an empty area to study without distractions, she noticed an older student sitting in front of a crystal ball looking, well, distraught. Her aura radiating that frustration. She must be doing Divination homework. It must mean she is at least a third year student. Her attention was drawn to the girl studying the orb. As a seer, Divination was a subject she was very interested in starting, but she would have to wait a couple more years. Without intending to head towards the girl, Tyranni found herself walking over propelled by some unseen desire to get a taste of what the class will be like in the future. Charms homework out have to wait.

"Hey...um, I couldn't help but notice that you seem frustrated. I see you're working on Divination homework? What are you learning about?" she said to the dark haired girl as she pulled out a seat and sat down across the table from her. Bold of her to assume this older student even wanted to talk to a first year, but something was telling her to speak with the girl. Fate perhaps? She may never know, but if she could convince this girl to help teach her some Divination now, she could start practicing and honing her abilities long before she would enter the Divination class.

Nothing, still the same grey, the same swirl in the ball. Perhaps taking on divination as an elective was a bad call. It certainly was, scrying into a glass ball was proving not to extend her knowledge about the subject but only to waste her time. With a groan, Aurelia flipped the divination textbook close, the hardback cover thudding loudly. For the frustrated fourteen-year-old, the subject seem to only exist to aggravate, not to prophesise the future. With a swift movement, Aurelia had almost thrown the book back into the bag.

The frustration did not go unnoticed by the young seer. At the sound of a heavily nordic accent, Aurelia lifted her gaze up. Curiosity was apparent in many first years, Aurelia had noticed and this one possessed that trait with the question. Aurelia would admit, questions could be annoying at times, especially when one was in a fairly bad mood. Regardless, it would be impertinent not to give an answer to the first year's genuine question.

"Scrying. The practise of gazing into a reflective surface to gain some insightful knowledge." The aristocratic pureblood said before tossing her brown hair over her shoulder and plastering a smile out of courtesy. Manners and first impressions were essential and the younger girl, all neat and proper seemed like she came from a well-to do family.

The tips of her fingers touched the cold chilly surface of the glass ball as she pulled it closer. Whips of smoke are all I see, unfortunately. This wraps my study session up as a fruitless one."

It was quite obvious that the older girl was in a bad mood, yet she didn't blow of this first year as she had expected she may. Instead, she brushed her hair back, and smiled though obviously it was a obligatory smile, answering Tyranni's question. She was attempting to scry.

"I kind of forgot you could scry using a crystal ball. My mother is a seer and like her ancestors, she tends to use bowls filled with water. She doesn't do it very often though. Only under special circumstances though."

The other girl touched the ball again. "Whips of smoke are all I see, unfortunately. This wraps my study session up as a fruitless one." The girl appeared as if she was about to get up and leave. If she wasn't stopped quickly, she would walk away and any chance of finding a mentor to show her any divination stuff would be gone.

"Wait! Don't go yet!" She reached out her hand with the intention of grabbing the other girls hand to stop her, but instead her fingers brushed against the crystal ball.

Red mist flashed and took over the entirely of the crystal ball. The girl was on the ground. Where though? Everything else was black. Red. Black. White. Light's flashed throughout the globe. The girl again. Blood. So much blood surrounded her. Pooled up. Congealing on the ground. On her torso were deep gouges. Bite marks? Claws? It looked canine.
Reality struck. Ripping her hand back from the ball, breath staggered and rapid she looked up at the older girl. "Did you see any of that? You were lying on the ground covered in blood. There was a large wound on you. It looked like you were bitten?" She needed to slow her breathing. Calm down. Hoping the girl saw something, she waited, anxiety sky-rocketing.

Although the pureblood was only being courteous, she really had no other intentions or reasons to stay longer or continue the evidently unproductive study session. She stood from the wooden chair, prepared to leave and would have made her move out of the study area if it weren't for the younger girl's please for her to stay. For what reasons, she did not know, yet she pivoted to face the slightly shorter Slytherin in response.

A move like the Slytherin's was a rather impertinent one: an attempted grab to withhold her. Nevertheless, with a swift lift of a single foot, the Monster Hunter stepped to the side, the other girl's fingers brushing the crystal ball which was cradled carefully in her arms.

Red was an eye-catching colour, Aurelia would admit, it happened to be the colour of the brave and chivalrous Gryffindors. It was impossible not to notice the transitional hue taking place within the captivity of the glass ball. The soft grey cloud of smoke began to grow in density, the swirls slowing and the colour change vibrant. Unlike the gifted seer, Aurelia did not possess the ability to see.

As if the glass orb was a burning stove, the Slytherin yank her hand away abruptly as if burnt, her face staging an intriguing look of sheer disbelief that resulted in the third-years own expression to furrow in the slightest. "Why?" a simple enquiry.

The next few words that bleed from the girl's lips were very much baffling and if one were to notice, was a shift in her once soft blue-grey eyes, now icy, glaring down at the very person before her. It took a few second for her own mind to register the girl's supposed foreshadowing. She was laying on the ground covered in blood. A wound, a bite. Dozens of scenarios played rapidly in her head, there were so many possibilities. It could not be possible that the girl had just foreseen her death. It could not. Stubbornness perhaps, but the Gryffindor refused to believe that the caused of her death was by a monster.

The factors she had stated spark a recollection of a certain predicament. She had already experienced something similar to the elements that were included in the apparent seer's foretellings: the attack in the owlery. There was certainly lots of blood and a bite mark involved. Perhaps the girl had not seen into the future but rather into the past. The realisation released much tension that had been in her shoulders and finally, a sound exited her parted lips, an exaggerated guffaw. There were only three individuals who knew about the incident in the library, but there was not a chance that the monster hunter would be divulging the entire story to someone she barely acquainted with.

However, it could not be certain of what the girl predicted in the crystal ball, Aurelia would never admit, but the perplexing feelings, including fear, was existent behind the calm and collected facade."You must be joking, overthinking likely? "

"Why?" She faintly heard the question that appeared laced with a tone that she couldn't quite place as she came back to reality. The Gryffindor appeared to be attempting to hide her thoughts, which she did undoubtedly well, aside from one brief lapse in control. The other girl may not have even been aware of it, but Tyranni noticed that short moment when the girl likely experienced a momentary feeling of fear upon realization of what the words could mean. Quickly recovered, the other girls eyes set with that look of defiance only to have the girl physically relax a few moments later. Something has bothered her. What frightened her so only to have her relax shortly after?

The girl let out a sigh. "You must be joking, overthinking likely?"

Overthinking? Did she really think that seeing the girl covered in a pool of blood with gashes through her skin was unclear? "I know what I saw. Time and place was not shown, but it's hard to mistake what was seen. You, on the ground, covered in blood, with large marks covering your torso that look animalistic." This girls lack of belief couldn't be the result of not trusting a first year, could it? "Look. I know I'm young. But I know what I saw."

When did this event take place? Would it be the girls future, or was it her past? She seemed to show utter disregard for the images that were searing into the young girls brain. If this wasn't a past event that the girl would admit to, then she might be the only person who could prevent the Gryffindor from certain doom. Was the girl courageous, as so often many of her house are? Potentially. But nonetheless a desperate move in Tyranni's books.

"If you could help me with some information, maybe we could sort this out. Or maybe I could try to look again for more details? Has anything with that exact description occurred in the past?" If the girl refused to divulge any information, it would become a personal quest to silently observe the girl, ensuring her safety, approaching a professor only if needed. No one likes someone who cries wolf right?

It was not every day that one would encounter a seer, much less have their future pried into by. The fourteen-year-old's countenance was but an impenetrable mask, in truth, the foretelling of the novice seer sent her mind and thoughts into a state of disquietude. Aurelia did not know what to make of such a cognisance, her thoughts were running wild the little mind of hers. Sure, the surfacing of th seers gift had been -- she hoped-- unintentional, nevertheless, upset the Monster hunter who saw the magical voodoo as an intrusion of her privacy, most of all, her future. Denial was only natural, the refusal to believe the accuracy of the girl's foreshadowing, the less she knew the better.

As often as she would tell herself when encountering a challenging situation, be it a good bite of Hogwarts exclusive drama or gossip: she had better things to do. The girl told herself just that, willing herself to leave this young seer and her delusions. However, as the girl spoke, Aurelia found her own feet rooted to her ground, not making any move to do what she had intended. The future was a mysterious thing, she could not leave with the realisation that sometime in the future, she would end up with another bloodied body and more bites and likely on the verge of death as she had once been.

Twice did the girl emphasise on her certainty to what she had witnessed through the crystal ball. Reluctantly, the girl lowered herself into a seat, angling her body so she faced the Slytherin attentively. "So tell me," She began, a wary, at the same time assertive air to the way the words left her lips. "You say you know what you saw, but how are you certain? It could have been any other. What exactly did you see?"

Young she might be, but confident in what she saw, the girl was. True, she might have been young and less experienced than most seers, especially considering that many seers at her age were still oblivious to their abilities. She was not, and that this other girl was audacious enough to question her confidence only indicated she was afraid.

"I am certain, because I grew up witnessing this with my mother. She is a seer as well. My entire life she taught me about her abilities, hoping that I might also show these same proclivities. True, this was not a prophetic vision, but that does not mean the legitimacy of what I saw should be questioned. I am certain, because this was one of the clearest sights I have experienced." Fear can drive people to resort to many different mechanisms for interacting and coping with said fear, but she still felt a bit offended that this girl would still question her vision rather than attempt to divulge information.

"I am confident that you were who I saw lying on the ground. There is no mistaking your face, although it did appear older. Mother always said scrying was hard for those who were not practiced in it, which is why I only saw fragments amidst flashing lights of red, black, and white. But you--I will not forget that. There was so much blood. If you want details, I shall oblige. You were on the ground, and it appeared to be stone under you. It was almost as if I could hear wind blowing, though I know that is not feasible, leading me to assume this scene occurs outside. Blood surrounded you. Some was undoubtedly yours, as on your torso were multiple deep gouges crossing your chest and abdomen. Over your arms I saw more markings. One sleeve was torn away and I could see the muscle below the skin. Your eyes were wide open, a look of shock upon your face, but no motion was detected. No chest rise. No blinking. Skin was ghostly pale. It was as if Death had finally come, greeting you but you were not ready. Your wand to your side, broken. Who, or what, would attack you?"

She had gotten the girl to sit down and remain, inquiring for more details. Should she chose to remain after hearing the details of her vision, it was only her pleasure to provide her with more details.
