Unwanted Classmates
Located next to the central tower sat the charms building where all of the children filed in; fresh canvases to be taught magic and get to know people. There was an array of different people from different houses, most trying to stay together when deciding seats, but not all got their wish due to the high demand of the class squeezing a few more in than usual. The large window pointed towards the greenhouses and the north Hogwarts ground, making it a quite scenic place to learn when the light came in and casted shadows on your hands. Instead of individual desks, they were organized in unmovable rows, which made you subject to accidentally bumping elbows with your neighbor or having to crank your neck past them to see the professor. It wasn't exactly the best, but it was fine if you're someone who can keep a cool head... Which wasn't everyone.Backdated- Around August 2025
The first lesson for the first years would be Repario, or the mending charm. It was a very important and useful charm invented by Orabella Nuttley in the 1750s, and something as first years, they were expected to master. With their Book of Spells textbook out, everyone got to work trying to repair the broken item in front of them after the brief instruction from the professor. Many students succeeded, some struggled, but for two particular girls, there was a little argument brewing.
Every time one would bump the others' elbow, they would share a dirty scowl which said more to their growing annoyance with each other than words could. Even the Newton Scamander couldn't successfully complete the mending charm when disturbed, and neither could Concetta, so she wished this girl would just scoot over! One particular bump to the elbow caused her to drop her wand on the desk in a way that turned a few heads. It wasn't a very heavy wand, but the race to catch it before it rolled off the desk caused her hand to crash down with a loud thump before slowly pulling it closer to her while shyly looking around the class. Once everyone decided it wasn't worth their attention any longer, Concetta crossed her arms and decided it was enough now.
"Do you mind? You don't even have your textbook out! You're getting in my way!" She scoffs, punctuating her voice with a harsh stop, scowling and forcing herself to sit taller as she turns to her neighbor.
