The Beauty and the Klutz
Heather glanced at her clock, puffing. She ran faster through the sea of students, trying to get to the Library. She scheduled a meeting with Kara, the Slytherin girl she had met the other day, and she was already 10 minutes late! It should have been just a small nap! And her clumsiness didn't stop to that.
Twenty minutes ago, Heather had woken up from her slumber grumpy and was almost falling asleep again when she noticed the post-it placed upon her book: 'MEETING WITH KARA IN THE LIBRARY: 5 PM'
I am such a klutz, I hope she won't get mad! Arriving at the Library, the blonde glanced around, searching for her...friend? Could she call Kara already her friend? After the talk they shared that night, she definitely felt closer to the girl. And it wasn't just a one-night meeting, now they were about to hang out again! Yeah, thought Heather smiling faintly, she is my friend.
Spotting the brown-haired girl, she greeted her excitedly: "Hello Kara, I am so so sorry for arriving late, it's just that I am so forgetful these days and I almost missed our meeting! I swear, it won't ever happen again!" Heather spoke quickly, letting out a loud sigh after she finished. She was so tired from running! And thinking about the pile of homework she had to do, she felt like sleeping all day.
Taking out her bag, she searched for her books. "Non, non, non! Questo non sta succedendo!" Groaning, Heather put her head in her palms, looking down. Trying to regain her composure, she took deep breaths, looking up to Kara. "It seems like I forgot to bring my books. I don't know how, but I always have the worst luck!"

The Beauty and the Klutz
Kara had awoken bright and early (6:30 am) to meet up with her new friend Heather to have a little study session at 5 pm in the Library. Kara grabbed all her books and while she was at it, she passed the Great Hall and grabbed a couple snacks like treacle tarts, lemon drops, and her favorite, cauldron cakes for her and Heather.@Heather Blair Moretti
During breakfast, she had eaten some pancakes with bacon and an apple. Kara knew the Ravenclaw table was right beside the Slytherin table, so she brought her gaze across the table, but didn't see the familiar tall, blonde haired, rosy girl anywhere.
Kara always carried a bag around to hold most of her things, and her violin case had her initials at the bottom in a dark green thread. She carried her stuff almost everywhere, and she didn't care about the weight, for she was pretty fit. She had always loved playing rugby and football with her brother Gabriel while her sister Mia always was the referee, for she always said, "It is unladylike to go and dilly dally in the dirt, but I don't mind getting my hands a little dirty." And Mia held true to that, for she was someone whom loved sewing and would usually work with their neighbor, whom was a seamstress.
She had all the books that they would need in her bag, like she always had, and it was practically broken, with the zipper torn off and a hole in the side where her quill feather stuck out, and her ink almost always fell out of it, so she attempted to patch it up, but it didn't work out so well. After that, she almost always kept her eyes out for a bag that she saw in Diagon Alley that said you could put anything in that bag, even a house if you wanted to! So she was saving up and hoping she'd scrape up enough money to buy it.
She arrived to the Library around 3:30 pm, so she had some time to kill. She most likely was going to read a book, or start to study by herself.
Kara peered over to the large clock, and the time showed it was almost 5:30 pm.
"Where is she?" Kara said to herself.
As Kara was pondering where her Ravenclaw friend was, she saw her racing into the library to the table that she was. Kara was at a secluded table with not much light, so she had said "Lumos" and propped her wand against the shelf, which was full of books that would help them with DADA, Charms, and Transfiguration. Kara needed the Transfiguration, for she was sitting at a low D, maybe even a high T now.
"Hello Kara, I am so sorry for arriving late, it's just that I am so forgetful these days and I almost missed our meeting! I swear, it won't ever happen again!" Heather said, looking very flustered.
She gave Heather a sympathetic look and offered her a seat as Heather looked through her bag. She had spoken in what Kara guessed was Italian then looked at Kara, out of breath.
"It seems I forgot to bring my books. I don't know how, but I always seem to have the worst luck!" Heather said, heaving for breath.
"Hey hey hey, calm down, it's okay. I thought Ravenclaws would be the best organized, but I guess I was wrong." Kara said with a glint of humor in her brown eyes, but keeping quiet in the large, echoing Library.
"Since," Kara continued softly "I've got everything we need, and more with the shelves around us! So don't go starting a commotion, and since, everyone's giving us funny looks with how loud we are."
She shot them all a death glare while she was at it and they all figured out they should keep their gaze on their work. She looked back at Heather and then placed her bag on the table.
"Here," Kara said with her calm and silky voice "Pick any of these, I'm sure the one you need is in my bag, or around us. And here," Kara said, showing her the many sweets she had collected. "Pick anyone you like."

Smiling at her friend's words, Heather laughed a bit. "Yeah, well let's say I am a quite nonconventional Ravenclaw." Looking down at her feet, the girl's thoughts came back to what a certain Gryffindor had told her, that she wasn't a good Ravenclaw. And now Kara, too, noticed she wasn't like her other housemates. Maybe they were right, maybe her place wasn't in the house of the 'smart' people...?
Only after her friend scolded her Heather realized she was quite loud. Blushing slightly, the girl took a strand of her hair and put it behind her ears, looking back to Kara. Thank Goodness she was there- Kara emanated an aura of regality, and being next to her made the blonde girl try to behave herself better, too. She looks like Gioconda sometimes, so beautiful yet so cold and detached, thought Heather, smiling softly.
Finding the books she needed, she also took some candies from Kara's bag. She gasped slightly, pleasured by the taste. "This tastes really good! By the way, what's your favorite type of candy?" It was a trivial question, but Heather wanted to know her friend. Not just her history, but little things too- to have girly talks, to see if they have hobbies or other things in common. Heather never had a real friend- besides Cora, so she was still awkward at times. Thankfully, she was good at making other people open up to her, even with her awkward ways of befriending them.
After closing it, Heather took notice of Kara's bag, which looked like it was falling apart. Wow, she must be really hardworking if she is carrying so many books all the time. Deciding she would ask her about the bag later, the Ravenclaw cleared her throat. "So, shall we begin? What do you want to study for firstly?"

Kara watched as Heather helped herself to some of the sweets she had snagged on the way to the Library. The candies Heather had eaten were some lemon drops.@Heather Blair Moretti
"This tastes really good!" She had exclaimed, her face brightening from the sweet but sour taste "By the way, what's your favorite candy?"
Favorite candy? Kara was a sweet tooth, but while she was choosing, Heather chimed into her thoughts. She noticed Heather glancing at her bag with a small look of what seemed like, respect.
"So," She said finally, after clearing her throat out "shall we begin? What do you want to study first?"
Kara looked at her and said,
"Well, I'm not having trouble with much, but I could use some Transfiguration help." Kara said.
She took out her wand, pointed it at a Transfiguration book high up on the shelf, went "swish and flick," and said
"Wingardium Leviosa."
The book flew out of the shelf as she drifted it towards her and it landed in her lap. It was pretty dusty, so she brushed some of the dust off.
"Also," Kara said, placing the book on the table and then grabbing her own Transfiguration book from her bag "my favorite muggle candy is Skittles, but from Hogwarts, it would have to be Cauldron Cakes."
She stared off into space for a second, then decided to tell Heather what was on her mind.
"The truth is, I didn't really want to come.." She said.
Before Heather would get mad, she continued
"I've always had something inside me that said looking for help makes you weak." She sighed "And I've always had a reputation of straight A's in muggle school, so I feel as though I have to keep it up and hide how broken I am. Even the smallest things of help would make me embarrassed. The only reason I do this is out of fear, for I don't want to disappoint anyone, and being pushed so hard this year in Hogwarts, sort of scares me."
Kara then covered the scar on the side of her lip very gently, hoping Heather wouldn't notice her flaw. Kara looked down, ashamed, but she knew, deep inside, she'd have to tell someone eventually.

Heather listened to her friend‘s confession silently, nodding silently after she finished. She could empathize with the girl to some point. She, too, felt overwhelmed, being in such a new and unknown world. “I get what you are saying, I was used to being very independent too. And, ever since I arrived here, I felt like I couldn’t take it all, at least not alone. And, being in Ravenclaw, it is so hard to live up to others’ expectations of me- I must be smart and always organized and, truth to be told, I am not like that. I mean, I am smart, I think, but not just book-smart, like everyone is expecting to.” The blonde girl shrugged. "I noticed that I tend to hide my real feelings, but they still get out, so sometimes I seem rude, or false...Someone once called me bipolar, actually! I know it not a good coping mechanism, but I am used to hiding my weaknesses, just like you are."
Shifting closer to her friend, Heather hugged her. Seeing Kara so sad, and vulnerable, made her wish to help her friend in any way she could. She was still grieving her sister, and the blonde girl knew how hard it was to lose someone dear. "I know you are feeling lost right now, with everything happening in your life. But you are not alone! You have your housemates and you have your friends, including me. We are here for you." Looking down at the Slytherin girl, Heather noticed a small scar on her lip. Frowning, she decided to wait a bit more before asking about it.
Taking a deep breath, the blonde smiled. "Okay, now we are going to study for real! And try to think that you are not asking for help, you are just exercising with me."

Kara listened to Heather speak to her about her similar calamities, but when she mentioned that someone once called her bipolar, she felt anger bubble up in her. Heather right now was her best friend, and whoever said that was as good as dead.
"I know you are feeling lost right now, with everything happening in your life. But you are not alone! You have your housemates and you have your friends, including me. We are here for you."
Kara felt Heather grab onto her gently as she uttered those words.
"Oh yeah, I almost completely forgot..about Mia."" Kara thought to herself.
She let go of Heather and she watched as she glanced over at the side of her lip, the one with the scar. Heather frowned a little bit and Kara turned her head to the side briefly, until she heard Heather's voice change.
"Okay, now we are going to study for real! And try to think that you are not asking for help, you are just exercising with me." She said.
Exercising? That could work for her.
She opened her book and started flipping through the pages, each one shooting many facts that seemed foreign to her.
Heather and Kara had studied till the clock struck 8:00 PM, and Kara was now very much prepared for her upcoming test, at least she was confident enough to now.
"Well," Kara said, yawning a little bit "I'm pretty tired, maybe we can eat breakfast together tomorrow at the Ravenclaw table, as the Slytherins wouldn't be happy to have a bird at their table."
She started to gather her things, and noticed that only they and the librarians were the only people left in the now dim-lit library.
"We can have some more of that girl talk you seem to want. Although I usually am the one whom tries to to avoid "girl talk", I have the ability to conform into things."
She picked up her bag and swung it over her shoulder. After hugging Heather goodbye, she left, knowing that tomorrow, she would see Heather again.
This is where Kara has left the thread, Heather can add onto this with her own goodbye, but if not, this is the end of this thread, and if she responds, her post will be the end of the thread.
