PV Avery, Edith Nothing Too Crazy Between Us

Edith gave a silent sigh of relief as the fire slowly went out by itself. It left a very big cloud of smoke, though, and Edith found herself inhaling it and chocking. At last, she thought, perhaps she would be able to clear her mind and think a bit before shooting spells at random, without the fire to stop her. The Mimblewimble Edith had cast on Avery also seemed to slowly die out, and Avery seemed to be able to speak at last. This wasn't something that seemed to please Edith too much, however, because although she was happy that Avery was ok, Avery was now back at full strength and able to shoot spells at Edith.

Swatting the smoke away with her left hand, Edith gripped her wand tighter with her right, ready to act at any moment.
Avery seemed a very good duellist, and Edith was glad that they were not in a real life duel, fighting as enemies, or this could all go badly wrong.
Very badly.

Edith looked over to Avery, whose Rictusempra was still going strong, and she was still giggling, though louder every minute since Edith's muting spell was wearing off quickly.

Would she be able to win this duel? Or not...

Being mute sucked. Avery let out a silent huff of frustration as she whipped around in an attempt to dodge the spell she knew was about to come flying at her. She had to be able to speak again soon. Otherwise she wouldn't last much longer in the duel. Panting from the exertion of dodging, Avery tried to dodge the green sparks charm that flew at her. She missed her chance. Her exhaustion was getting the better of her as the charm hit hard. Avery grunted in pain, but it was no use. Her voice had still not returned. She gave Edith a look of surprise at what she had done. This was not going well. Avery had to pull herself together or else she would just fail miserably, and failing wasn't an option. This next round she would be ready and she would bring with her the strength and knowledge of a variety of spells that she knew she had in her. She just had to get her head out of the clouds and back into the game. Avery closed her eyes for only a moment to pull herself into focus. It was then she decided her next move. Avery straightened herself up and acted as if she didn't feel that she was falling apart. She was ready to fight and there was nothing that was going to stop her. She was becoming the lioness she knew ran through her blood. She just had to let it roar.

The fourth round began with Edith back in her prime condition. Sere could see the magical flames had completely extinguished, leaving nothing but burns on the edges of her clothes. If Edith could cast her spells so well even under those debuffs, what would happen in this round? The third-year watched Edith with a glimmer of worry in her eyes. The expression of sympathy that wasn't actually given to Edith, but to Avery.

Another Tongue-tying spell! Sere bit her lower lip as her brain recognized the Ravenclaw's action. The spell landed smoothly at the target, who was still trying to stop her laughter. "That was a square hit on Avery." she spectated. The Gryffindor had to laugh with her mouth shut for another round, apparently. Sere didn't see any spell come out from the tip of Avery's wand. Had she tried to cast something? Sere didn't know. It slipped out of her vision. Whatever it was, the second-year no longer had a chance to cast any spell from now until -maybe- the next round.

Sere tried to take one positive thing from what happened to Avery (she could only find one, after all): her laughter subsided. It looked like the tingling sensation throughout her body from the Rictusempra fireback would completely gone in the next round. Thank goodness, I hope she would get her focus back.

Sere shook her head to dispel the bias inside her heart. She believed that, in the end, they both would be fine. Nothing too crazy would happen between them. "Prepare yourselves. Round five, start!"
