Battle Of Wits 2.0

With the school year just starting with a bang and the second stage of official dueling matches creeping closer into view. It seems that since the prior year, dueling has become a lot more popular throughout Hogwarts, with all years looking for any excuse they could to pull out their wands. That was when a mysterious sign-up sheet for three unofficial stages of duels was posted in the small hall, for all students to write down their names if their interested in joining.

OOC Information

Welcome to the second improper duels of 2026! These duels will be unofficial, but the winning team will receive a chocolate frog and some galleons for winning the duels. The duels will operate with the same mechanics and rolls that official duels are operated and modded by me or others who know the dueling system.

This is a chance for those who haven't had a chance to take part in a duel before to step up on the platform and try their luck in dueling. Because of this, the sign-up isn't a first-come, first-served sign-up up but instead the other mods and I created the following priority list.

1. Since it's been a while since I've been away from the site, I need to acclimate to the system again. Therefore, this round, the sign-ups will only be open for 1^st up to 4^th year who have never participated in a duel or Quidditch game

4. Duelists

Duel Information

The mods for the game will be me, and 4 mods' names will be revealed once someone signs up for it. The five of us will make up the teams, and we will try our best to keep them as fair as possible, looking at years, houses, and the number of spells in everyone's trunks.

Each team will be assigned one of the following mods for their duel and will send in their actions/strategies to them each round, so each team can have actions.

Each stage of the duel will have 10 rounds, similar to what happens in an official duel.

The Game

Battle Of Wits. The game will be three stages, similar to the official duels. Just like official Duelling, this also will be divided into 2 Leagues, which are the Junior League (Years 1 - 4) and Senior League (Years 5 - 7).

However, since these aren't official duels, the mandatory 200-word limit set on the site is still in place for this game.

~The First Stage~
There will be 8 teams (consisting of 3 players in each team, similar to the official Duelling), engaging in 4 duels. IC; 4 will be in the morning, and 4 will be in the afternoon. The Duels will happen on both Saturday and Sunday. Those teams who got the morning slots will end in the afternoon of that Saturday. And those teams who got the afternoon slots will be held on the next day (Sunday).

The 4 winners of the first stage then move on to the second stage.

~The Second Stage~
The remaining 4 teams will be engaging in 2 duels. IC; all 2 will be set for the morning of the day after the first stage.

The 2 winners of the second stage then move on to the third stage.

~The Third Stage~
The remaining 2 teams will engage in an ultimate Dueling showdown. Both are set in the morning, and the winner of the third stage wins the Battle of Wits 2.0 and a few treats.

Winning Team ~ 2 chocolate frogs and 2 galleons
Second Place ~ 2 chocolate frogs, 1 galleon, and five sickles
Third Place - 1 chocolate frog, 6 sickles
First Stage Unconscious ~ 1 chocolate frog
Second Stage Unconscious ~ 1 chocolate frog

Sign-Ups
If you are interested in the games, then please fill out the sign-up below. There are 24 spots available to sign up for the games (mods, including if they want to duel). Sign-ups close when all the slots are filled. It's only open for 1^st up to 4^th year for now.
