Chance Encounters PV Finished

“Maybe that book was giving you a sign, talking about bonds and such and here we are." “Maybe...” Adlai said looking down at the book and then back to Elena. “Hopefully, it’s a good sign.”
With a new break of late winter wind Adlai hugs herself. Once it has passed her picks up her book.
“I better get going then...” she says rather solemnly.

Standing up she strips the blanket off the ground and begins to fold it. “Perhaps we could meet again? After all we are friends. Which dorm of Gryffindor are you in? I’ll send you a letter if that’s ok? And if you want to send me one I’m in Wenlock Lodge of Hufflepuff!” She exclaims rather loudly as she tucks her book away in the folds of her now damp blanket.

She hasn’t been this excited in awhile, it sort of reminded her of when she first gave her house number to a friend at school. She waited almost all afternoon for that phone call. Luckily it came before supper and she was able to talk for a bit, but it wasn’t a conversation of much significance her and her friend only really spoke of what happened at school. Then again, isn’t that what school mates do?

She tugged her scarlet and gold scarf tighter around her neck as the wind passed through and fast too. Folding her letter, she smiled stuffing inside her garb. Today had been a good day even if it had started out dull, that much was for certain. She made to rise as well brushing off any stray blades of grass that might have stuck eyeing the looming tower in the distance known as the Owlery. "Thanks to you, I managed to finish my letter."She said grinning patting her pocket where the letter sat. She nodded at Adlai's question."For sure! If you ever have trouble with anything or just need to talk, I'm an owl away. Just address it to the Matagot Quarters of House Gryffindor and I'll make sure to reply ASAP."

It felt nice, she had someone else to write to now other than her parents which was relieving in a sense, Her parent's weren't exactly the kind to write about Elena's wellfare, no, rather they were interested in her grades and if she was upholding the family name, but now she had someone else and that felt nice. "I have this set of nifty little astrology riddles I might send you too, you know, keep us busy with something , should be no problem for a Virgo."

The cold breeze picked up the pace probably indicating it would be prudent for them to be on their way unless they wished to freeze out there."Well, the weather certainly took a turn for the worse? Anything at all!She said giving Adlai a wave as she retreated towards the Owlery raising her hand in farewell. Now, for that letter..Darren would be so proud of her.
