He almost choked on his orange juice, trying to hold back laughing. Oh, how it fills him up with great joy to decide to site in this particular spot today.
He sniffled laughter and gave short-lasting applause as he moved away from his orange juice. " Man, when I hoped for a great spot this morning, I didn't expect it to be this entertaining ~" He mused in his usually playful tone with a sly smile. Mostly to himself but from how close he sat with Chesser, there was a good chance his presence was now heard loud and clear.
He was already seated for a while now. Breakfast buddies weren't his thing, so he planned to sit and stick here for 10 minutes to gobble up what he could. Let's just say the moment the Ravenclaw said something about Slytherins and their inherent ego, suddenly made Hanako a slow eater.
He curiously listened to the three students talk while pretending to be more interested in his food, and skillfully he may add. And he did so until the Ravenclaw decided she had enough. Seeing the event unfold had him smiling ear to ear, with a few amused laughers here and there.
" I remember science class taught me that baby birds fall first before they fly~" he replied Aburame in a sly tone. He couldn't help but reply to Aburame even though it was directed to Chesser. " So, the real question here is how long is that fall going to be~ ".
He watched the entrance of the great hall where the Ravenclaw had recently left her presence. A small flicker of mischief evident in his eyes even more than before, as if already planning to a few things here and there to teach the Ravenclaw just how basked he is in the regular Slytherin ego.
" Since she seems to believe some sort of truths about Slytherin stereotypes, it's safe for me to say that it wasn't very Ravenclaw of her to say such things around egotistic brats, right~? " He chuckled a bit darkly before returning his intention to the stars of today's show.
" Wish I could say I'm not surprised. That was the first time I saw someone here that still believed in Slytherin stereotypes ." He casually mentioned, skillfully hiding the fact that the Ravenclaw's actions affected to some degree with a child-like innocent smile.
While in fact, he wanted nothing more than to grease the corridors and stairs leading towards the Ravenclaw Tower. Was she stuck in the '90s? Who even assumes Slytherins eat more ego than their food anymore?
" Now, to be honest, I've been told I'm quite egotistical. But to have it assumed by my house colors by a mere stranger, doesn't sit well with me~ " He half-joked, his previous smile never fading.
" Say... do you guys think that would've played out differently if our uniforms were yellow instead of green? Perhaps even red? Or was it Aburame's poor choice of a conversation starter? I'm voting for the later~ " He grinned cheekily at his fellow Slytherins, with little to no concern that he subtly poked fun at someone he barely met.

Unexpected Encounters
"Man, when I hoped for a great spot this morning, I didn't expect it to be this entertaining~." someone stated in a playful tone.
Riku turned towards the... Boy? And noted his eyes were on them. While he had been aware his interactions with the little bird had been a slight commotion; it seems it had been enough to garner some attention.

"I remember science class taught me that baby birds fall first before they fly~. So, the real question here is how long is that fall going to be~."
And it seems so did the little raven. Though, if she wanted to likened herself to an octopus, then it would be fair to say she was a bleeding one, and the sharks had smelt the blood.
Riku found himself curious as to what would happen though. This boy's mannerisms were foreign to all his experiences, but there were still ques that he could recognize; ques that he'd have himself whenever he had been allowed free reign.
He wondered to himself if she was worth the time to observe how she'd act when cornered.
"Since she seems to believe some sort of truths about Slytherin stereotypes, it's safe for me to say that it wasn't very Ravenclaw of her to say such things around egotistic brats, right~? " Riku listened to the boy as he spoke mostly to himself; continuing his attempt to categorize his individual, even as he continued to speak. "Now, to be honest, I've been told I'm quite egotistical. But to have it assumed by my house colors by a mere stranger, doesn't sit well with me~ "
There. What was that.
Riku narrowed his internally. His sing-song voice made it tedious to interpret his intentions. Was he truly being honest? Was that a simple red herring to hide something else? Giving him something to chew on while keeping the rest hidden?
"Say... do you guys think that would've played out differently if our uniforms were yellow instead of green? Perhaps even red? Or was it Aburame's poor choice of a conversation starter? I'm voting for the later~" He finished with grin. While his strange inflections went speaking made it strange for Riku to dissect his words, it did nothing to hide the barbed jab at him.
Riku sighed internally. This person had him at a disadvantage; the period of time to learn from him while he was otherwise preoccupied, his strange way of speaking, the waning, but still there attention around them.
It seemed he'd be playing to the beat of someone else's drum for the time being.
He detested the feeling.
Riku shrugged his shoulders casually, "If I had been a Puff; my words word just be seen as the joke it was intended to be. A lion; casual bravado and boastful house pride. And as an 'eagle', just a point for a friendly debate." Riku paused as he chuckled aloud, "But I suppose I am the big bad scary snake with 'poisonous fangs' aiming at a little bird."
Shaking his head, Riku focused his eyes at the snake addressing him and Ms. Chesser, "But you have me at a disadvantage. While your impeccable hearing had caught our conversation, we seemed to have missed your name."

Unexpected Encounters
Summer listened to the boy, her head cocked in interest, making her look rather like a puppy. She had felt rather sorry for the Ravenclaw when her eyes had welled up, but at the same time her snide comments had kind of had it coming. When he stopped talking, she spoke up. “I didn’t realize people still believed in those old prejudices. I’ve read about it in history books, of course, but never met any who actually still believed them. If we had been Hufflepuff, those comments would have been taken as a light hearted joke. As a Ravenclaw, an interesting observation to talk about at a debate meet. Even as a Gryffindor, it would have simply be seen as egotistical. But as Slytherins? Slytherins make the comment and it’s viewed as hateful!” Summer lapsed into thought at this last exclamation. Sure their comments hadn’t been the kindest things to say, but Summer found the Ravenclaw’s comments to have been just snarky. Summer withdrew from the conversation into a quiet space in her head to think. She pulled out her sketchbook and began drawing the Slytherin crest, since drawing helped her focus. She had never met someone who so blatantly believed in the old prejudices, and she was determined to figure out why the girl thought like that.

Unexpected Encounters
He listened to the two, giving their own reviews to the previous show that recently ended. With eyes that looked like in need of sleep, he continued sipping on his orange juice slowly, eyes on the orange liquid but ears on the conversation between his fellow Slytherins.
At the mention of Aburame being a big bad poisonous snake, he sent a reassuring smile, as if to say; ' Same my dude. Same '
“ Can’t argue with that logic “ He placed down his orange juice for a second just to make eye contact with Aburame. “ Maybe that’s just one oddball in a huge ball pit. I trust after that small show, she’ll rethink it over. Or maybe it’ll get worse? Maybe she’ll run off to her Ravenclaw friends and spread more of the Slytherin reputation? Oh, what a disaster that would be~ “
He dully added, tracing the rims of his glass, not bothering to hide the fact that he couldn’t care less even if she does. Yes, he didn’t like to be stereotyped for his house but now that he properly thought about it, it’s not like they’ll think any better of him the moment he opens his mouth. It was fast burned out anger to something he could never change.
He turned to Chesser, who made her comment about the matter and decided to take out a sketchbook and drew what Hanako could identify as the Slytherin crest. A quick but barely visible genuine smile adorned his features at the sight.
Even he had to admit, seeing a fellow Slytherin passionate about their house was a ripe cherry topped on a rotten sundae. Adding a nice finish to the events that previously transpired.
“ I can’t believe it as well. Prejudice starts when someone is scared of the unknown, isn’t it? People feel safer when they see something and know what it is. Like road signs~ “ He jokingly added.
“ Unfortunate for us humans, we tend to hide a lot, don’t we? Slytherin or not. “ Although the tone in his voice may have dropped a few degrees, he still kept a sly smile. “ It’s just..easier~ “
He was way too lazy to explain in further detail to these people. Although they had given Hanako the right type of entertainment to start the day with, the Slytherin didn’t feel further purpose talking to them other than to discuss something that can never be changed.
“ So, a bit of a waste of our time-wasting our precious energy and voice just getting upset at something that’s difficult to change. I know I don’t want to waste my breath.~” He shrugged with an innocently content smile.
“ Although…” he took another peek at Chester’s drawing of the Slytherin symbol. It was clear the girl was the most upset over the discrimination. She may seem someone that could get along with everyone, but there should be a reason she was placed here instead of Hufflepuff.
By the small amount of time they had spent together, Hanako thought she would’ve been great at breaking a lot of this Slytherin animosity with her warm nature. “ I suppose it wouldn’t be such a horrid idea to have a go at showing them how dumb house prejudice is~ “
He hinted mischievously before backing up a bit. “ I don’t mean releasing rats in the Ravenclaw common room. Although I’d still be up for it if you are. But I’m talking about making a cupcake or something for the little raven, properly talking to her about it and taking the high road~” He grinned excitedly.
“ Probably will make one less ignorant Ravenclaw. Even if it backfires, at least you can lay with ease that you’ve done the best. The Ravenclaw may or may not drown in guilt after the snakes wanted to make peace despite being big and nasty “
He stood quiet for a while, wondering if this was even a good idea. He wasn’t even in the show, so what’s it to him for suggesting such a thing. He quickly glanced between the two Slytherins he barely knew, wondering what they thought.
To save himself, he quickly added;
“ Doing nothing won’t change anything as well. Free rats in their common room with me or take the high road, to be honest, I don’t really care~. “ He added a bit too gleefully, noticing the orange juice was now gone as he tried to take a sip only to be let down in disappointment.
“ 'Name' you say~? “ he casually inquired, tilting the cup over as if he didn’t want to believe his orange juice was gone. He looked at Aburame with a disappointed look. “ You talk like I give a grass about your disadvantage. “ He clicked his tongue repeatedly, talking to Aburame like he was a misbehaved child, before giving him another innocent smile.
“ I value my name more than any of you fun lots~” he kindly replied before pushing himself up from his seat.
“ That doesn’t mean I won’t be willing to give it if needed. Thank you for the marvellous show before, but it looks like my main motivation of being here has…-” he flicked his now empty glass, previously filled with orange juice, creating a long ‘ding’ sound as the sound vibrated from the cup.
“- run out~” He smiled.
“ Feel free to find me in class if you’re interested in my suggestions. I’ll be one of the people sleeping. Find the one that’s the most good-looking and that will be me. As for the payment for entertaining me this morning, I don’t mind helping you find the best cupcake recipe or the most ferocious rats~. I know...a lot of people~” He winked at the two.
“ Well, it’s nice to meet you, people. Hope to see you soon Chesser, Aburame~ “ He smiled at them one last time before making his way out of the Great Hall.
It was true he could help them. He was a Tone, therefore both connections and money was what he got. Perhaps that’s why he didn’t want to reveal his name too easily. He wouldn’t mind sharing with Chesser, but Riku Aburame was a name that sounded awfully Japanese.
There was a good chance Aburame might have heard of the Tone family. Hanako didn’t want anyone sniffing into his family history, even if Aburame seemed like a decent lad. Other than nice people, Hanako wanted to avoid anyone with any Japanese heritage in this school.
So until then, he'll just pretend he's couscous about his name for a while. At least in front of Aburame.
Hanako has left the thread

She decided to walk into the Great Hall.Mention : @Breana Oliveire. Interacting with: @Riku Aburame and @Summwe Chesser
While walking into the Great Hall, she bummed into a Ravenclaw student who hurriedly get out from the Hall with welled up tears in her eyes, not caring if someone she bummed is a Slytherin or not. She excused that person this time. What was that all about? Cassie taught to herself.
Her stomach grumble again and she hurriedly fast pace her walks to the Slytherin table. Not a lot of people on their respective House tables in this morning. Once she arrives there, she meet the tall, dark skin boy that earlier she encounter in the common room, the other girl she just meet her here. "What was that about?"Cassie ask to one of her classmate regarding the welled up tear eyes girl. Just like anything magic within this school, once Cassie sat down a variety of spread in on the table. There's pancakes with maple syrup, choices of bread, eggs and bacon and a whole lot more. With the sight of the delicious spread in front of her, her stomach growl loudly. Cassie face turn a bit red, embarrassed how loud her stomach can be when hungry.
