A Lesson in Appropriate Behavior
Backdated to 13 March
Though it had taken a bit of time, Olphie had not forgotten about the detention she and Miss Purposeful Bracelet were scheduled to have, and greeted the Slytherin with an owl one Thursday afternoon, insisting that the girl meet her the following afternoon to complete her punishment. It hadn't taken her much time to come up with an appropriate punishment; since the girl had destroyed her favorite holiday, she decided it would only be appropriate to force her to celebrate appropriately: by writing Valentines.
Though the task had fallen on a rather ominous day, Friday the 13th, Olphie knew that the detention would be anything but ominous. The girl would certainly not bring any poor behavior, because Olphie was certain that enough time had passed for her to understand just what horrible decisions she had made on the day of February 14th. And if she didn't? Well, detention was to reinforce such regrets.
She laid out the Valentine's Day materials in her office, which remained as pink as ever. With a sigh, she blew a kiss to her Barnaby Ryker poster and wished that she could send him a Valentine as well, but she had yet to disover where the man had hidden, as he had not provided her with a forwarding address. She vowed to find out where he was, so that, perhaps, she could nab those black market candies she had heard about and mail him a few desserts of her own. But until then...the girl would be writing Valentine's to the other professors, as Olphie sensed they needed a bit of cheering up.
All the supplies imaginable were there: glitter, paper, sparkly pens, flashy lights - you name it. The only thing that was missing was the girl of the hour. As she sat, waiting for her participant, Olphie flicked her wand to heat up some tea, curled up in a white, fuzzy blanket, and waited patiently, eyes fixed on the doorway so that she would not miss the girl's entrance.
This is a detention thread, exclusively for myself and @Persephone Barret.
1. Your posts need to abide by the 200 word minimum.
2. You need a minimum of 600 words before you're allowed to start new threads (normally 3 posts, but as I am slow...just get to what the minimum of 3 posts would be).
3. Until #2 is fulfilled, you are not allowed to start any threads, although you're welcome to reply to started ones, or any out of character ones.

Rule #2 fulfilled, happy to continue this thread.
Approximately a month had passed since the breakthrough from one Persephone Barret, a tea party of bold actions and little morality hosted by the Flying professor being ‘ruined’ by her momental self-awareness. During this month, not only had the blonde acquired a few necessary allies in order to execute Plan B, but her reputation had sky-rockets, her profile rising kilometers in a matter of a few short weeks. The potential stardom that once felt everlasting, like the sun shined purely upon the snake and only to appease her wishes, had however died down with the memory of the destruction. Although Persy had committed several infractions in the looping days since then, such as certain Gryffindors taking elbows to the throat or knees to the groin, nothing had surpassed that crime of the Valentine’s Day Tea Party. All that remained of her bloom was nearly transparent scorch marks, possibly aching toes, and a beautiful scar that accompanied a headache; not to dismiss, of course, an apparently heartbroken Professor Bercegeay.
Initially, no blame or resentment had been aimed in the professor’s direction, rather pleasure that she was polite enough to allow the young blonde to finish her deeds of the day. Between the rude interruptions of the dhampir and half-giant [how sad, failed intimidation between a practically married couple] and the absolute obnoxious idiot’s input on Persy’s own behalf… the snake was rather fortunate to have worked in the attacks, therapeutic and efficient in nature. However, after careful consideration and second-hand knowledge [or, better yet, ears], it was abundantly clear that even the seemingly innocent professor harvested ill intentions behind that whimsical facade. It was admittedly sad when an individual couldn’t admit to their true purposes.
Okay, but really, was that entirely necessary? Did you want to bother me that bad?
Creative. Point one, Professor Bercegeay. Current score: one to one. That would change after today’s round.
Entering the area of punishment, Persephone was certain a portal to hell had materialized somewhere along her route, as if the universe knew the delinquent was too content with the punishment and its implications. Even as a stubborn non-believer in forces beyond the work of your average witch, a hiss escaped her pale lips as evidence rang the bell and informed her that there were indeed powers working for the opposing team, analyzing and recreating that which is despised by any archetypal malefactor. Maybe Bercegeay had been underestimated by Persy, her plan all along to build a haven for discomfort.
But that, very evidently, gave the woman too much credit.
Pink covered the room, objects blurring together in such a manner that the shade felt like all that was visible, love pouring from inanimate walls and intoxicating all inhabitants with embarrassingly outdated mindsets. The poise required to display such a room to modern teens, or in her case, eleven-year-olds, was staggering, particularly given the… poster?... placed so confidently upon the wall. No effort to suppress this inner child was clear to raw vision. This would never be voiced, as it would vocalize and animate a sense of appreciation in a widely-known heartless student, but the courage in decoration choices was somewhat admirable for an adult.
Bercegeay’s vision was imprinted on Persy as soon as she entered, appearing although she eagerly anticipated this moment, a foolish sense of vengeance for her tea party likely erupting through the professor’s veins. Persy’s body remained completely still, but her forest eyes took in more of the scenery, notably the supplies that seemed to have awaited the criminal with just as much apprehension as the warden herself. The air was thick, heavy with the silence of both parties for perhaps even a mere second. That was a second too long.
“Obviously, I’m here. How else would you like to ruin my life, with a reenactment of kindergarten?” Disguising her spite with feigned respect would’ve been an appalling lie, a habit which the young snake did not partake in out of common courtesy. Honesty was, of course, the best policy; without knowing what she’d dragged herself into, Professor Bercegeay was getting [nearly] unfiltered time with Persephone.
How... lovely.

A Lesson in Appropriate Behavior
The stillness of the girl's body unnerved her. Olphie had never interacted with such a girl like the one before her, full of such aged experience despite her small body. It was though this child in front of her had lived thousands of lives whilst Olphie was stuck in constantly reliving the life she had lost as a child. Two people, both filled with repressed experiences (or so she could assume), exhibiting them in completely different ways.
When the Flying Professor allowed herself, she felt the pangs of her subconscious, aware of what it did to express its grief. Those moments hit hard, and one such pang was now, as she looked upon the girl. Her face would not change, but a sadness filled her as she empathized with what she was seeing in front of her.
It was for this reason that she brushed off the comment, thrown with such a fire that, if Olphie had held this detention any earlier, she would have felt a personal attack - much like she did on that adventure to the Hospital Wing. Because of the realization, however, she instead forced a smile, albeit filled with mixed reasons of pain, and replied, "While it may seem as though we are doing an Arts and Crafts lesson, dear, it is far more than that. I still question the motives behind your actions, and I hope we can get deeper into that, but at the very least, we can move forward by spreading love."
She paused: "Those in pain wish to make others feel their pain. But those who are strong, despite the pain, show love."
Although it was possible that the quirky Olphie Camille Bercegeay would continue to show these uncharacteristic moments of seriousness, as her eyes fell upon the craft materials near her, she snapped back into her regular self. Eagerly, she beckoned the girl forward and uncurled from her white, fuzzy blanket to gather the supplies. Though she wore a dress, she repositioned herself on the floor, spreading the materials amongst the ground. Her smile widened as she did so.
"Now," Olphie began with a newfound burst of energy, "Let's look at the list, shall we? We have quite a few professors to write too; I thought that it would be good to start with our newest Professor, the one of Divination: Miss... Killblitzer? My...that's...quite a name, but I've met her, dear, do not worry - she is quite a joy! Dare I say we do glitter and glam for her card? Perhaps her message could be a simple one: welcome to Hogwarts; we are glad to have you?"
She looked at the girl, no matter where she was perched, smile stretched into a toothy grin. It had been a while since she had done any craft projects, but sometimes Kindergarten craft projects were the best way to make up for lost time.
