"Maybe there isn’t such a thing as fate. Maybe it’s just the opportunities we’re given, and what we do with them."

✽So far everything was going well. Avery watched as the new director she now knew as Edith. The girl seemed like a good leader and one who could easily command a crowd, so of course Avery had chosen her. She was also the person who created the club, so who was better suited than the founder herself?
Avery couldn't believe how well the first round of voting had gone. She had seen events like this turn sour quickly after someone poor-sported didn't get the role they wanted and threw a large tantrum for everyone to see. She understood how hard it would be for that person. You work so hard and so long to get a role, yet you end up never getting it in the end. That alone was something Avery didn't want to experience anytime soon. It sounded awful.
Avery then snapped back into focus. Now was not the time to dwell on the past. Now was the time to focus on the present and what was to come. It was finally the time to vote for the second in command. The Co-Director. An important role when it came to plays. Especially if the Director was unable to direct or needed someone to step in. Avery hadn't auditioned for this role. No. She wanted to have a feel of everything first before she worked in a leading position.
Avery eyed the candidates carefully. She didn't know very many of them, but one did stand out to her. Bree Grey. She remembered the girl had hosted a party that Avery hadn't realized when so far into the night. So far into the night that she had detention the next day. Her first and only detention she had ever had. It had been a rough detention too. Her asthma had gotten the better of her after she finished running causing her to nearly pass out from not getting enough oxygen. She had made sure to stay out of trouble after that.
That was when the realization came to her. Of course Bree would make the perfect second in command! She had experience in organizing events and other things, so who else was better suited for a leadership role? ✽

AUDITIONS
Word count: 205 words.Edith smiled as they were voting on the Co-Director. She loved seeing people so happy. Edith herself voted for Bree Grey because she was sure that she would be a great leader and help Edith make decisions.
The voting went faster than it had with Co-Director... or so it seemed to Edith, perhaps because she wasn't taking part this time.
Eventually they had decided that Bree Grey would be the Co-Director. She seemed as happy as Edith felt.
"Well... let's decide the other backstage roles, but we can have a meeting for the onstage ones slightly later on?" the sentence was met with silence, so Edith continued hastily.
"Ok... let's audition for the Lights, sound and Script Writer as we need that pretty soon. So, who wants to do those roles?" a couple of people stepped forward, and Edith scribbled their names on a long list.
"So, the way this works, I just thought you all take turns to say why you want that role, and if you have any experience in it please include that too. You can go first," she said, pointing at the first person who stepped forward.
"Which role are you applying for?"
Edith liked being Director.

+ Hazel Nelson, you don't have to post but have already received the role. There are two people making costumes.
How to post:
So first you post if you are on the list for 'lights + sound' (1), or script writer. (1) You give a small speech on why you want that role. Then, after everyone has posted, I decide who gets the role.
At the top of your post, write e.g -Script Writer- before role playing you auditioning for the role. Onstage roles will be decided in a separate post. Bree Grey will help me decide who should get the role. Mention everyone when you post.
After lights, sound and script writer has been decided, I will make a post and you can then audition for the rest of the roles.
You don't necessarily have to post int he order written above, but don't post now if you want a role other than lights, sound or script writer.
When script writer has been decided, he/she will begin to write the script. Once finished, the light and sound people can plan the lights and sound for the script. Once all roles are decided, the script editor will read through the script and suggest and edits needed, the song writer will make the songs to fit the script, etc, etc.
Anything you don't understand, please post in the FAQ!

AUDITIONS
(Lights and Sound)
Keegan Cadwalader walked on the stage swallowing thickly and grinning to hide his nerves. Maybe he got in over his head. He reminded himself that he's done this before. right? He often helped with the technical part during his dad's performances...but that was with you know...actual tech...he had no idea if this required magic. He looked out and smiled again. "Hello-!" He waved hello to the director and the small audience. "I am auditioning for two roles, lights and sound and costumes,"
The crowd was silent and Keegan rubbed the back of his head itching uncomfortably.
"I was in the recital, if anyone remembers, I played the electric guitar...I learned the electric guitar because...well my dad plays it and he does shows...uhm not like theater shows just in pubs and stuff..." Keegan mumbled the last bit. "But he's done it in small venues and-and that requires y'know lights and sound and shit like that...so I have experience doing it if your worried about that….if it's magical position I don't think I'd be that good at it,"
Keegan cringed. So far, not so great. "Well to be honest, it's pretty interesting to me Dad told me I should join a club and some of my friends are in the club too," Keegan looked out at the audience grateful he had not been picked for an acting part, as the stage lights felt too hot and too bright on his face. He pulled at his collar and bit his lip looking to the side. He shook it off and looked back out into the audience. "Uhm anyways, i'ven't got much else goin' on so I can be hear if I need to be,"
Keegan nodded and shifted the microphone as he quickly hurried off stage sitting back with faces as red as the curtains. He honestly just wanted to make the most of Hogwarts. Something to busy himself thinking about where his dad was and if he was okay. He hadn't owled back in some time and the boy was starting to get worried. He didn't tell anybody any of this of course. He didn't want them to think he was some sort of criminal on the run. Lev was hardly a criminal. Keegan luckily didn't have much time to think about things further as the next auditionee went up a bit more confident than Keegan was. Well at least Keegan thought so. The boy slumped down in his seat shoving his hands in his pockets and waited.
