Azrael is NOT a dhampir or a vampire, he's just weird, his skin is sensitive to the sun because he and his family are loners and prefer going out sometimes at night only because it usually means that not a lot of people are around, which has caused his skin to not get used to the sun properly and thus now it gets red and irritated when he's out during the day if he doesn't have any protection from the sun- yes, he's considered unsettling and eerie but it's not his aura, it's his eyes, they're big and owl like and he has a bad habit of accidentally spacing out and staring at people intently when they talk, so people consider him eerie, this was placed here to prevent misunderstandings.

It's been a little while since Jrue and Azrael have actually spent time together- let alone ate lunch together in the great hall.

Of course- Azrael is pretty skittish...so it's hard to find him wandering around unless you're actively hunting him down, which...no one really does, for obvious reasons.

But clearly, Azrael seems to have talked to Jrue- after all, he wouldn't be heading down to meet her on the great hall if she hadn't talked to him first...so now here he is, walking down the corridors, avoiding people like always- and clutching his umbrella on his right hand (it's closed for once, mostly because it's a cloudy day) as he squeezes past groups of people, some heading down to the great hall as well- others chatting about class or homework, and other things he hadn't bothered to listen to...

He had received a letter from his parents earlier that day, they had wanted to know how he was doing and if Ravenna was settling in well...of course, he's completely fine- and so is Ravenna- apart from her screeching whenever he doesn't take her with him on walks, but that's not important right now...

He wrote them back the second he got their letter, why wouldn't he? They're very close, he'd never willingly leave his parents waiting...the only way he'd ever make them wait for a response more than they should is if he was either possesed or insane, neither of which he is today.

He told them all about his few new friends...how he has yet to meet someone like him, he seems to attract lots bubbly people- not that he cares, it's just curious to see how he hasn't had at least one encounter with someone who's a loner like him....then again, he's way more strange than a simple loner.

But anyways- as he heads down to the great hall, he pushes open the door, peeking inside and scanning the area fro Jrue...she isn't there yet, but he can see people already settling down to eat.

He's been craving vegetables like crazy these past few days! So hopefully they make some of the ones he likes...like broccoli! That, and maybe garlic bread? He lives garlic bread, he always asks his mother to make him a batch on his birthday or during special occasions.

Slowly, he enters the great hall, looking for a place to sit as he continues to look around- hopefully Jrue arrives soon...he'd hate to have to start eating without her, he considers that to be quite rude, especially to a friend.

After a few seconds of walking- he finds a spot on the Gryffindor table.

It's mostly empty still, so he sits at the very end of the table, hoping he wouldn't have to sit next to someone who chews really loud or chews with their mouth open.

So now, all he can do is wait for Jrue to get there...

If there was something Jrue loved more than her farm and scrapbooking, it was surely food. And she wasn't picky, it was all food. Except those containing Peppermint. Sure, the idea of mint tea and candy canes and tarts and cakes alike seemed delicious to her. But she was deathly allergic. She'd go into Anaphylaxis just from the smell. Her mother wanted to cure her of it in her youth, but her father said no, arguing that the allergy was something she was meant to have. Her mother lost the fight, fine with it as she couldn't know what peppermint tasted like. He said she'd be fine without it, anyways.

This morning, Jrue had a planned lunch with a friend; Azrael. They'd talked a few times before their initial meeting in the courtyard, the awkward exchange over umbrellas and lack of interaction urging Jrue to get to know him better. So she did. When she saw him in the hallway she'd smile. When they had a class together she'd wave or make a funny face at him, not getting much of a reaction from the somber faced boy. So lunch it was.

She dressed herself in a white long sleeved turtleneck sweater and black skirt, throwing her robe atop the two and clasping it together along with her satchel. She hummed into the mirror, tucking her first layer of hair back in two little ponytails over the rest of her hair, tying little bows around them and smiling as she finished. It's eleven, she thought, I guess I'd better head up to the hall.

When she arrived, students were scattered along the brightly lit room, paintings and tables illuminated by the glow let inside by the windows and the candles floating above. Her eyes scanned the rows and rows of people, hoping to find her acquaintance. She didn't know where he'd be sitting, whether it was at her table, or his, or...

And then she saw him. He was sitting solitary at the far end, alone, no food yet on his plate. She moved towards him, cloak trailing behind her. His ravenous ruffled hair was parted neatly down the middle. It suited his face shape, really. She noticed that about people. The way their faces were put together, how their cheeks accented them, their nose highlighting every feature. And the way face framed peoples hair was very important. It was make or break. In Azraels case, it was make.

"Azrael--" She called, waving as she reached his spot at the table, standing across from him. "Good Morning!" She smiled with her teeth, fangs not yet retracted before she ate. She watched his expression expectantly, sitting down on the bench and setting her bag down beside her with a soft thud. She blinked a few times down at her bag before lifting her head up and meeting his eyes with another smile, this time mouth closed, glad to be in the company of someone, anyone. Because if there was something Jrue loved more than food, it was people.
