There was something about meeting new people that was harder in this environment than when they joined larger groups on a campsite or travelled with another community for a few months. They were people who understood and had gone through the same experiences as he had. Staying in one place every day for an entire year seemed impossible.

As always, he got up at the first signs of sunlight streaking through the window and got changed into the still-uncomfortable uniform (he missed his trainers, jumpers and dungarees that were packed in his trunk, just waiting for the weekend) so he could go down to the hall for breakfast. A part of his hair was sticking up and even water didn't seem to flatten the cowlick that settled near the back of his skull. Unfortunate but not the end of the world, August thought as he washed his face before setting off.

The hall was still daunting, even if he recognised a few familiar faces. He stood at the end of the Ravenclaw table for a moment to decide where he would sit. An empty spot across from a girl he sort of remembered from classes and such was soon taken by him and he shot the girl a small smile. He really should start learning names, especially if he wanted to make some proper friends.

"Hi. Can you pass the buns, please?" August questioned quietly whilst nodding to the basket of rolls.

There is something special about the wholegrain buns they serve here, Leanne concluded, taking another bite of the bun, savouring its taste. Two days of eating it, and it never fails to disappoint me. The wholegrain bun was a favourite among the Ravenclaw table, where every new batch was snatched up within minutes. She had managed to acquire two pieces of it at the last moment, ignoring the stink-eye she received from the girl sitting opposite her.

I bet, the house elves in the kitchens laced it with some sweetener, to encourage more students to eat healthily, but anyway... it's so good! She gave a merry wave to a familiar-looking boy that sat next to her, who asked for the buns. "Oh, the buns?" she replied, speaking slowly in order not to accidentally spit out the food that she was still chewing, "Which one do you want? The wholegrain one is rather hard to get, and you might have to wait for a while...actually, never mind." A new basket of freshly-baked buns appeared suddenly right in front of her, and Leanne literally had to fight to get a hold of the basket. Taking a hold of the handle, and slamming the basket right in front of the boy's plate, Leanne later reflected that she might have scared him with her aggressive actions.

Shooting the neighbouring students with a irritated glare that said 'This is My basket, no one can touch', Leanne turned her attention back to the boy. "The wholegrain ones are really good, so is the raspberry-filled roll. Come, try some." she gestured to the basket, and spotted more than a few people still eyeing the buns inside. Taking another wholegrain bun, she continued talking.

"I'm sorry if I scared you earlier with my actions, but oh well..." she shrugged casually, pausing to drink a sip of orange juice. "The people around me are all hoggers, and the bun is actually really good! Not to forget, I'm Leanne. Leanne Chua."
