Opeila was surprised but also thankful that Flash immediately helped her with the organisation. She'd definitely ask him to join other errands in the future...
He asked the other three students to join, placed Rafa and Fyriel on both of his sides, Ivy next to Fyriel. Opeila was glad. Rafa didn't seem to happy that he had landed here, maybe he'd feel more comfortable next to a boy. The Slytherin also wouldn't have minded if he decided to leave, but she wouldn't bring that up. This was supposed to be fun.

Her housemate placed the notebook in the middle and let everyone choose girls to write to. Opeila put the names down. "Hm. There are still some names left... Let's write to the chosen girls first and then we can still decide who to write to. You can use all the material I've put on the tables!", she said smiling.

Opeila decided to start with the card for the Gryffindor Prefect. She chose a red card and stuck a lion on it that she cut out of yellow paper.
She soon was disrupted by he Hufflepuff girl Fyriel who told her that she liked the idea with the cards. "Thank you! Yes, it was my idea." Fyriel's words made her happy. It was fun to organise something when people appreciated it. She glanced at Fyriel's card. "That is a good one!", she said.

She looked over to Rafa, who looked, like he was still not to happy with what he was doing. Opeila didn't say anything. She still hoped, that the Gryffindor would eventually find some fun in this errand.

The Ravenclaw girl, Ivy, had chosen the two Ravenclaw girls from Opeila's list. She was now sitting at the table, also seemingly busy with her cards.
Opeila was curious what this group would have in the end. She was so happy, that they were five people in the end, that was a good number. Perfect to start some conversations, possibly find some new friends.
"So... What have you guys been up to this year?", she asked. There had been quite the adventure in house Slytherin, but she was curious to hear, what the other houses had experienced.

Even though Flash hadn’t originally intended to make any cards himself, it quickly turned into a situation where everyone seemed to understand the errand perfectly well, and get to their work easily. Even Rafael appeared to have no questions, starting on his writing right away. Peering over his shoulder, Flash was impressed with his tact and writing skill.

He was going to have to pull his weight. He wouldn’t be able to get away with watching everyone else work like a hovering teacher. It was quite a simple task after all, and as long as his crafting skills weren’t too harshly scrutinized, he would be able to come up with something. There were people he recognized on the list, though he wasn’t sure he wanted to take the credit for the cards.

He sat down in the chair beside Rafael and grabbed some of the green construction paper. Having seen what the others were doing, he grabbed a secondary gray paper, cut it a bit smaller, and folded them together. It was basic, but Flash didn’t have the artistic creativity to do much besides that. At least his handwriting was good.
Dear Professor Jensen,
Your dedication to our house and your students is remarkable, and I speak for everyone when I say we feel safe in your care. Cunning and cultured both, you inspire in your discipline and dignity.
It was rather short, but he didn’t know her personally. He wanted to write more in order to fill it out, make it look ‘more’, but he had little of worth to add. He wondered if it wasn’t a mistake to try and write the cards. He felt a bit embarrassed when he imagined the others in the room reading it, perhaps saying it was too flowery or irreverent. He tried to push the feeling aside. Having written it in front of everyone he could hardly throw it away and pretend he hadn’t.

Instead, he pushed forward. He knew many of the names on the list, but most of the things he knew about them were either things he wasn’t supposed to know, or irrelevant impersonal information. The only name that had anything specific he could latch onto was Tyranni Whitethorn. She had very recently been appointed as the new co-captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team-- an application process which was not for the faint-hearted, and as a first year it showed remarkable initiative, and the willingness to take on a lot of hard work. Flash could admire that.

Flash made another identical card, still Slytherin colors, since she was indeed also a Slytherin. He hoped his words could mitigate some of the unoriginality of his decorating.
Dear Tyranni Whitethorn,
The remarkable feat of becoming Quiddtich co-captain at such a young age belies your innate leadership and intelligence, a nature that deserves respect. You exemplify the greatest traits of a Slytherin, and I look forward to seeing what you will accomplish.
Again, so short. He had very little to draw upon which he could apply his flattery. Opeila began to strike up conversation about the collected group, which only made him realize what was missing. Naturally, Opeila didn’t think to put her name on the list of girls. That would be a much easier note to write. Not knowing what else to do, he made a third identical card. All Slytherins, it seemed. He would be handing this one over personally, so he lost himself in thought, tuning out the voices of the others.
