Visiting the Library - On the First Night?! OPEN

After a delicious feast in the Great Hall that rivaled the cooking of Gwen's mom, Kenna, Gwen felt rejuvenated. She wasn't quite ready to settle in for the night in her new dormitory, so she decided to peruse the Hogwarts library. She pushed open the great wooden door to see a room straight out of her wildest day dreams. Books lined towering floor to ceiling shelves, with flickering lamps illuminating the titles. Everything looked neatly ordered and was remarkably dust-free. It seemed that there were titles on every imaginable topic: Hogwarts: a History, Magic & Muggles, Magical Creatures & Their Care, and so many more. A crackling fire bordered by several over-stuffed armchairs beckoned enticingly. But first, Gwen needed a book to keep her company. She had overheard some students talking on the train earlier and they had mentioned the Ministry of Magic. Gwen wanted to know more about this mysterious magical governing entity, so she stepped over the threshold of the library in search of information.

After turning down three different rows of bookshelves, each seeming to stretch on for longer than the last, and seeing nothing that sounded promising, Gwen started to waver in her resolve. She started to turn back the way she had come when a voice from the shadows of the next shelf over stopped her in her tracks.

"Hello, are you lost?"

Gemini, after dinner- well, truth be told, during dinner- had made his way down to the library, where it was nice and quiet, as many people were either still enjoying their meals, or had already headed back to their dorms and common rooms.

While he hadn't settled on a book to read yet, he enjoyed walking between the towering shelves and just looking at the books. Words, he had long ago decided, were their on kind of magic, with the ability to twist and dance and create songs and worlds and stories.

He had been there in the library not long, when he heard the sound of another set of footsteps joining his. Taking a quick glance from his row of shelves, careful not to be seen, he looked the newcomer up and down.

Obviously a girl. Most probably Scottish, by the looks of her, and probably a first year. She seems to be wandering about as well, I wonder if she's exploring, or if she's lost. Best not to go to her- that might seem a little... much. I'll wait and see.

He finally decided on a book to bring with him to read, but decided against leaving the place. Instead, he leaned against the shelf beside him, waiting for her to pass. Listening out for the telltale sign of footsteps growing louder, he made sure that she would be near enough to hear him without his having to call out, or speak very loudly at all.

His timing was impeccable.

"Hello, are you lost?" he asked just as she passed.
