Home or the Holidays Solo part 1

The scenery rushing by slowed to a halt as the Hogwarts Express pulled into Platform nine and three quarters. Excitement was high in the air, the hustle and bustle of Christmas festivity's had put Ada in a good mood. Steam billowed around the window, obscuring her vision of the platform. Excitement was burbling up inside her, it was almost Christmas! Her favorite holiday.

Ada gathered her things, not much, gust her trunk really, because she'd managed to cram everything into it. Nox sat beside her, his nose tucked under his chocolaty brown tail. "Ya coming?" Ada asked playfully. Nox hated being woken up almost as much as she did, so it was no surprise that only after a very good bribe (a whole can of his favorite brand of tuna when they got home) did Ada manage to get him up.

With Nox riding Ada'd trunk like he was a ship captain looking out at the sea. Once they had gotten off the train, Ada immediately started looking for her mom and dad. The platform was shrouded in steam from the Hogwarts Express's resent arrival and it was making it hard to see. Nox meowed, and tilted his head "What?" She looked in the direction Nox had indicated. Two people near the entrance to the platform, appeared to be looking for something, or rather, someone. Ada's hart skipped a beet.

A young woman with long red hair that matched perfectly to the streaks in Ada's own hair. Her mother. Standing beside her was a man, a bit shorter than Ada's mother, who had short, dark and messy hair. Ada would recognize that face anywhere. "Mum! Dad!" Ada yelled over the clamor.

Her parents turned, expressions of delight on their faces. Ada ran towards them, lugging her trunk behind her as fast as she could. Dropping her luggage, she embraced her parents, first her mom, then her dad.

"Ada! it's good to see you! Ready for our rematch?"

"Anytime, I'll beet you again!" Ada said, giving him a hug.

"It's wonderful to see you my darling" Ada's mum said, giving her a rib-crushing hug. Her red hair making a curtain around Ada's head. "Mum, you're smothering me!"Ada said though she was secretly glad to see her.

"MEOW!"

"How could we forget our favorite cat!" Ada's dad laughed, scratching Nox behind the ears.
