Sending A Letter
Reducio
I walk into the owlery, my heart feeling calm after a stressful day. The owls make me feel at peace. A snowy owl is snoozing, a tawny owl is hooting, a barn owl is fluttering its wings. I sit down on the stone floor, and close my eyes for a moment, enjoying the peace. Then she got up, and decided she wanted to write a letter to her sister.
She opened her brown leather satchel, which contained a quill a new pot of ink that had not been open yet, and some parchment paper. The parchment was very old. She began to write her letter:
I went to the 'school owls' section so I knew I wouldn't be stealing someone else's owl, and saw a tawny owl drinking water from the water fountain. It peered curiously at me, and I said, "Hey, buddy, aren't you a cute one? Could you give this letter to Rosie Clarkwood?"Dear Rosie Clarkwood, Dec 29
How are you doing? I got sorted into Slytherin, and I'm getting used to Hogwarts and all the magical things. I miss you loads, you know that? Even if it is much more peaceful without you barging into my room every second about how the T.V is glitching or something.
Anyway, Rosie, I haven't heard from you in a while. Oh, and don't say "oh, I haven't?" because, really, it feels like you've been ignoring me.
Your older sister misses you,
Piper Clarkwood
P.S, you have to write back to send the owl that's delivering the letter back to Hogwarts.
The owl gave something that looked like a nod, and took the letter from my hands. It flew out the only, battered-down window, and I watched the owl leave, hoping to get a response from my sister.
My name is Piper Clarkwood. I am a Ravenclaw, always will be. I was placed in Slytherin because my brother, fiddled with the buttons. I am very intelligent and pretty creative. You'd find me sitting at Ravenclaw tower with my new friend, Julia Evans.
