General The Hufflepuff Table 2019-2020

Josh was lost in the magic of the moment. There were so many people laughing and talking and eating. It was all so noisy compared to the quiet country village he was used to. His eyes were as wide as saucers as he stared at the ghosts and the floating candles. His mum had told him stories of her days at Hogwarts, but nothing had prepped him for this.
Josh loaded his plate and began to eat. It was a feast unlike any he had ever had—steak and sausage, pork and chicken, lamb and bacon; there were about seven different types of potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, vegetables, literal boats of gravy, and several types of sweets. And Josh was bound and determined to try it all.
Josh had heard of the different houses, and was generally pleased that he had gotten Hufflepuff. It was his mother's house, and he thought it seemed like the best house of the lot. He didn't see himself as bold and reckless, nor especially smart or ambitious. But hard work, kindness, and simplicity suited him fine. Plus, his mother had told him stories of the warm common room filled with plants and sneaking off into the kitchens for snacks between classes.
Several other first years sat around the table, mainly keeping to themselves. Josh had never been one to start conversations, but everyone seemed to be pretty friendly. He thought he heard one of the other first years introduce himself as Koa, and another girl with wild blue hair sat near as well.
He turned to them and smiled.
"Hi. I'm Josh. Are you excited about your first year here?"

Hufflepuff Table After Sorting Ceremony

If I could have ran over to the cheering Hufflepuff table without making a fool of myself I totally would have however I know me...I most likely would have ended up doing something stupid like crashing into the table, falling on my butt or something insane like that. So of course I settled for walking like a normal humaniod off the stage and over to the table where I found an empty seat among all the bodies and instantly grabbed a roll. My nerves were still a little on edge so I needed something to help me calm down; it always helped me to tear something into small pieces.

As I tore the roll apart and listened to various conversations around me I could feel my nerves slipping away; I knew this was my home away from home. I knew I could have an amazing life here; surely there would be drama, hard-ships, trails and tribulations BUT for the most part my life here would be one-hundred percent amazing. As soon as the ceremony was over the Headmaster said a few words before a feast appeared before my eyes; with a new sense of confidence I dug into the feast laid out by the house elves. Mom used to tell me how she'd sneak down to the kitchens every so often to pay her respects to the house elves of Hogwarts; this sounds like something I might have to do one day.

When dinner was over I followed someone to the Hufflepuff Common Room; still to this day I am not certain who the person is....doesn't truly matter right now; just so long as they can tell me where I can put my head down at.

After the Sorting was over and she'd made her way over to the Hufflepuff table, Sienna looked round at the Great Hall and the other students at both her table and the other House tables. She sighed to herself, but managed to smile and nod at a random Ravenclaw who was making her way back to her own table. Right after that, she wondered how she was going to tell her father that she'd been put in a completely different House from the one he'd been in. Not that it was a bad thing, she reminded herself hastily. It would give her a chance to make her own memories and have her own adventures at Hogwarts.

Her stomach rumbled. She hadn't realized how long it had been since she'd eaten on the Hogwarts Express, but now it was time to refuel again. The food looked delicious; she grabbed a couple of drumsticks, some macaroni and cheese, and a roll and began eating. Indeed, the food was just as good as her father had told her it would be...but why was she still comparing his memories to now? It was her turn at Hogwarts now, not his. It was high time she remembered that.

Harper smiles as she walks in the great hall making her way to the Hufflepuff table, She was glad she was a Hufflepuff it really fits her personality.

She made her way to the table nodding at her fellow wizards from other houses as she passed other tables. Once she had finally made it to the Hufflepuff table she found a spot by herself, not that she was anti-social she just found herself a little afraid to make friends.

She was a very shy person and she often didn't like to be the first one to strike a conversation. She glanced at all her fellow Hufflepuffs and smiled at a few of them before looking down at her food. Her stomach growled loudly, it didn't seem like it had been very long since she had eaten but it very well could have been.

She picks up various foods from drumsticks to mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Her mouth was watering just looking at all of this stuff. She picks up a drumstick and carefully takes a bite. She smiles wide as the taste was amazing and unlike anything she had ever tasted before. She knew looking around Hogwarts was going to be a second home for her. She couldn't wait to make friends and get started with her new life here.

Piper sat down at the Hufflepuff table, looking around at her fellow Hufflepuffs. Hufflepuff seemed like a great house to be in, and she was excited to meet all the new people. People chatted, laughed, and helped themselves to some food.

Piper wasn’t good at introducing herself to new people. Not without support. She decided to stay silent for a while.

After a while of silence, Piper couldn’t take it anymore. “Hi I’m Piper, Piper Hargrove.”

Soon enough, people started introducing themselves to her. That was much better. She joined in on some of the conversations, and got a lot of laughs out of it.

This isn’t bad. She thought to herself. I really like Hufflepuff.

Suddenly she realized how hungry she’d been. Everybody was helping themselves, but she wasn’t. How embarrassing, now wonder everybody was staring. She took a deep breathe to calm herself down, and helped herself to some of the food sitting on the table. Maybe she was really hungry, but the food was great. Almost better than her father’s food, and that really meant something.

After a while, she felt right at home, as if she’d been there for a year already. She was so glad she got sorted into Hufflepuff. She was glad she was home.

Cress took a seat at the Hufflepuff table. She was met with friendly faces all around from her fellow Hufflepuffs. One student reached out and shook her hand, welcoming her to their house, while another complimented her on her colorful hair highlights. She smiled at them all and, when asked her name because one kid 'didn't catch it when announced', she responded with "It's Crescent Moon, but I usually go by Cress, so you guys can call me Cress."

She was feeling at home with these kids who all seemed rather friendly and welcoming. As they all turned their attention back to the sorting, she did too. Crescent watched as many other people were sorted into their houses, including a few who joined the Hufflepuff table. When the sorting had ended, the headmaster said a few words and the table filled with all manners of delicious delights.

Immediately, Cress filled her plate with the sweetest looking desserts she could find. Oh, what would her mother say? "Here, you have to try this!" a girl across the table pushed a plate of some kind of meat drizzled in a dressing at her. Cress guessed she should probably eat more than dessert so she took some off the plate to try. It turned out to be delicious!

When the meal had finished, they all began to get up and head off to the Hufflepuff Common Room.

The hufflpuff table. Full of bright happy smiles, joyful laughter and welcoming cheers. The eleven year old walked up shyly tot he table and sat at the nearest seat, trying to stay away from everyone, the crowd a bit over whelming. Her mother had told her about the houses. According to her mother, Gryffindors were the "brave" ones always getting in trouble. Ravenclaws were seen as having their faces stuck in books all day long, which seems nit that bad. No attention paid to you, being forgotten but the brightest wizards in the class. That would be nice. And Slytherins, now that was a house she wanted to get into as well. Her mother wished it for her as well as she thought she would get a bit more able to defend herself, being pretty scrawny and pale even for her age. A lot of people kept telling her that he looked like a nine year old and with all honesty, it didn't bother her one bit. When the sorting hat had been placed on her head, she was begging it to put her in slytherin but I guess her love for animals and wanting to cast a Patronus  charm came through and it put her in Hufflepuff. She sighed hiding her disappointment from the other students who congratulated her. Some giving her a handshake, others giving her a pat on the back. She merely smiled and mouthed thank you before turning her attention back to Lear giving a speech. Her eyes wandered off to the Slytherin table as she saw the amounts of grins at the table. Soon enough, a huge buffet was laid out in front of them as she grabbed a bit a food before sitting in silence and awaiting for the ceremony to be finally over.

Laila walked into the great hall quiet but confident and made her way to the Hufflepuff table. She saw a lot of new faces and tried her best to look friendly and welcoming. She was about to sit with some people she already knew when she saw a girl sitting all alone with no one to talk to. Laila decided to approach her. From far away, the girl looked about Laila's age so she figured the girl was a second year she hadn't met yet, but at she got closer she noticed that the girl looked a lot younger than Laila. The girl had pale skin and long black hair with pretty blue eyes. She looked a little  dissapointed  about something.

Laila sat down next to the girl. "Hello! I'm Lailaflora but people call me Laila" Laila said gently as she grabbed a little bit of food and put it on her plate. "hey, what's with the long face? You just got sorted into one of the best Hogwarts houses!" Laila noticed the girl glance at the Slytherin table and guessed that the girl would rather be a Slytherin. "Slytherin huh?" Laila asked while taking a bite out of her chicken. She remembered all the great stories her mum had told her about the Slytherin house, and how much she'd wanted to be one "I wanted to be one too but I got sorted into Hufflepuff. At first I didn't really like it but I guess it grew on me. I went from disliking being a Hufflepuff to being extremely proud of being one. Heh. Funny how that happens." Laila said. "Anyway, enough about me" Laila said shaking her head "what's you're name?" She asked the girl.

The eleven year old looked down at her plate of food closing her eyes.  Her small stands slightly trembling, a knot forming in her throat, her eyes starting to get misty, she sniffled slightly and forced herself to snap out of it when another student sat next to her and introduced herself. Out of politeness, Lauren looked up from her plate and met dark blue eyes.
"Um hello... I'm Lauren from the pure-blood family of the Wildhawks.. Nice to meet you Laila." Lauren dug her fingernails in her own palm refusing to let her tears come through in front of another student.
"Oh um yes Slytherin, my father wanted me to get into it. Guess its Hufflepuff now. I hope I'll be feeling the same I suppose. Anyways I suppose you aren't a first year from what you said.  How is your experience at Hogwarts?" She asked playing with her food not hungry anymore.  She was not looking to make any friends already, she just wanted to run up to her dorm and lock herself out from reality. To plunge into one of her books, escaping from the reality she currently lived in, being able to embody a completely other personality.

The little girl introduced herself as Lauren Wildhawk. "Nice to meet you too Lauren" Laila said cheerfully . Lauren seemed extremely shy and she fidgeted a Lot. She mentioned about how her dad wanted her to be a Slytherin and Laila shrugged "it's your school experience not his. If he doesn't like your house, that's his problem. It's not like you can choose your house.

"How is your experience at Hogwarts?" Lauren asked. Laila smiled warmly "It's been great so far. My first year was confusing and, I have to admit, a little scary but it gets better with time. You just have to befriend the right people, and be smart. Sometimes, you get to go on fun adventures with your friends!" Laila said recalling the time she and a bunch of strangers got stuck in a sandcastle. She looked down at her plate"you know, Hufflepuff isn't as lame as people make it to be." Laila said looking up. "The other houses may be brave, smart, and determined but we're kind, loyal, patient, accepting, and hardworking and even though I don't posses all those traits, those are, like, the best traits to have in a friend" Laila said shrugging her shoulders.
