XXXXX𝓜ylo felt a soft breeze make itself known, although the weather had started getting better as winter slowly turned to spring the air still had a slight chill to it, perfect in his opinion. Although for their activities Mylo had hoped that the weather would be slightly worse, as practising their flying in bad weather would be better practice than in good weather. But practise was practise, so even if the conditions weren't the way they had hoped it would be they would try and make the most of the situation.
Holding onto their broom Mylo made their way into the ruins, taking a good look around the pitch while doing so. Aside from Mylo and his coaches the place was empty as it seemed that nobody else had decided that practise was needed, not that he minded in the slightest, the peace giving Mylo the space and time necessary to just do their own thing.
Although it had taken a while Mylo had become a lot more comfortable on their broom thanks to the flying lessons they had been having over the past 2 years, having gone from hardly being able to float a few feet in the air to being able to go at a decent speed at the top of the Quidditch stadium. They had come very far in such a relatively short amount of time.
But now that they had found themselves being able to do those things comfortably Mylo had found himself wanting to improve, to be able to do a bit more. They had watched one of the broom races and had been fascinated by how fearless all of the racers seemed, going at speeds he couldn't even imagine. Mylo wanted to become better and the only way to do that was to practise.
As much as practising on their own was nice to do they had realised that to get better they would also need feedback and help from others who were better than them, and as they knew 2 others who loved flying and were also quite good at it Mylo had asked their 2 best friends to help them improve.
So standing at the edge of the pitch they started thinking about what the best way would be to do so, a few ideas came to mind but before they could bring any of them into reality they had to warm up, and it seemed like Maisie had gotten there already as she was comfortably floating in the air. Getting on their broom Mylo started doing a few of their own laps around the pitch, going at a decent speed while staying a few feet off the ground, enough to challenge themselves a bit but not too much as to push themselves too far.

"Come on, Coach, get your arse up here!" Maisie called from up in the air. This, she knew, was a crucial step in making Mylo more fun. Flying was fast and joyful and fun, and mostly fast. It would be a great way to loosen them up, which was what the girls had been aiming for all year.
However, unlike Maisie who already had one unofficial Quidditch match under her belt, Mylo had been more trepidation on a broomstick. It seemed like Coach was firmly comfortable on the Duelling Piste, where Maisie, coincidentally, was not. But together with Avis, she was determined to shake that.
She offered a slow clap as Mylo got on their broom and started to do some simple laps around the pitch. As far as she could tell, they seemed just fine. "See, not bad, right?" she asked them once they happened to be basically parallel again. But, as Mylo could no doubt see on her face, she had other aspirations for them: to go higher still.
But Maisie knew fun with Mylo required dedication and planning and one step at a time. With a smirk, she considered how to make work. She could conjure green sparks for them to fly between. Or, they could practice spiral dives, but that would mean trusting Mylo could catch one of the pumpkin pasties she'd taken from the Great Hall and she really didn't want to risk that. Not as her stomach let out a little growl.
No, all that was left was baptism by fire: "Try to catch me! Three, two, one!" And she gripped the Silver Arrow and shot off ahead of them, flying higher and farther out towards the edge of the pitch. Blinking, she prayed there was not a single responsible reason Mylo could think of to not follow.

XXXXX𝓣he wind that had been a slight breeze when they were still stood on the ground became stronger as they picked up speed in the air, giving Mylo a slight resistance to fight against if they wanted to remain seated on their broom. It was great for the warm-up rounds they were doing, finding themselves enjoying the feeling of being off of the ground.
Returning back to their friends side Mylo could see a trace of something on Maisie's face, something that made Mylo's own body fill with dread. As although he had asked her to help with their flying, they should have expected that she wouldn't be doing anything he himself would see as good practice. This would be a 'throw them in the deep end and see if they swim' situation, they really should have expected this.
Before he could say or even do anything though the trace had turned into a plan, and Maisie had shot off into the sky shouting out for Mylo to catch her. Mylo knew she wouldn't do anything too stupid, but their very first thought when she said 'catch me' was that she would drop from her broom mid flight, relying on Mylo to race after her as quickly as he could in an attempt to catch her. This thought meant that Mylo had taken off after the younger Ravenclaw before they had even finished forming said thought, gripping tightly onto the handle of their broom and leaving all traces of anxiety surrounding flying that still lingered in his body behind. They knew she wouldn't fall of on purpose, she wasn't that reckless, but maybe something would go wrong and they would have to be close enough to jump into action if necessary.
She had sprung the chase onto Mylo without warning meaning that there was a sizeable gap between the two flyers, one that Mylo was slowly trying to close succeeding ever so slightly. The fact that Maisie was flying on a broom that was significantly faster than Mylo's didn't help though, as all he could do was shut off all their thoughts and focus on following the younger witch through the once terrifying sky.
