First time leaving home {pt 1}

The minute we all came through the barrier the scarlet steam engine let out a loud whistle thus blowing out a billow of steam making me stand there and stare at it. Meanwhile my mother had taken my trunk over to the train to be stored while the rest of my family allowed me to just have a moment alone; to be perfectly honest I was both scared and excited. This was to be a whole new adventure and my first time leaving home...that was the scariest thing of all.

After a moment I found my family; my grandma (mom's mom) , my mom, my dad & my big brother Leo; all their faces said different things. My grandma was clearly very excited, my mom seemed to be on the fence between really excited and wanting to lock me in my room, my dad was busy searing over protective hatred towards all the guys something I thought was hilarious while my brother was trying hard to break the tension. Out of no where he put me into a playful choke hold making me laugh "What do you think your doing you monkey?" Leo rolled his eyes laughing "Just giving you a good bye noogie." I laughed taking his noogie; man I was gonna miss this weirdo...as I straightened up I punched him in the shoulder "Don't do anything stupid." Leo arched his brow at me "Like what exactly?" "Like date that air head of a co-worker you brought home." My brother's face turned bright red making me smirk a bit at him.

Just before I bored the train to leave my family for a full year my dad give me a ring that he bought in a Muggle store "I know it's not much but I thought of you when I seen it." I hugged him tightly "Thank you daddy; I love it." I waved to my family from a window after boring the train; they all stood there watching the train leave the station.

Train Ride




While the train was in motion I managed to find the location of my trunk; thanks to my mom and grandma I knew that I would need my Hogwarts robes upon arriving at the school but for the train ride I decided that a book was in order. Normally I would have grabbed my Ancestoral Book however right now I knew this would be a bad idea; therefore instead I grabbed one of my school books. I didn't even bother to look to see which one it was until I got back to my compartment.

Back in the seclusion of my compartment I curled up in a seat near the window ready to begin my journey in the pages of the book, written by truly amazing authors. As I settled my mind into the book of choice; I thought that I was fully engrossed into the book...nope in reality I had barely read the first page when I fell into a deep sleep.

So deep in fact that I didn't know the train had come to a stop; I didn't know we made it to Hogwarts until someone that works on the train; I had only seen this woman for a second in passing while I was getting my robe and book. It was the woman pushing the trolley of sweets; she shook me awake "Dear the train has stopped; you have to go to Hogwarts now or your going to be left behind." Upon being woken up I did so with a start "Oh okay thank you....my trunk is already at the castle correct?" The woman looked at me with a soft smile "Yes Miss..." I stood stretching my body out "LaMotta....Piper LaMotta; thank you for waking me." I put on my robes over my Muggle clothes, grabbed the book I had been reading & my wand was in a wand pocket my mother sewed into my robes. I left the train ready for the last few steps into my new big adventure.
