History/Background Story: Joshua is the only child son of a Muggle father, who works as an agronomist and horticulturist, and a Witch mother, who gained some mild popularity as the author of a series of magical cookbooks.
Josh showed a fairly late aptitude for magic, and mainly displayed an unusual ability to make plants grow while spending time in the garden with his mother and father. With no more obvious signs of magic, Joshua's mother was pleasantly surprised when he received his Hogwarts letter. His father, on the other hand, was not so pleased.
Josh has dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes. He has always been a quiet kid, and his shyness prevented him from making many friends. The few kids who put in the effort to get to know him found Josh to be a funny and caring friend. While some of his teachers had trouble getting him to talk at all during class, when he found a topic he cared about, he began to shine.
Josh was never particularly gifted in primary school, and most of his teachers, when they thought of him at all, described him as unremarkable or mediocre. He had trouble focusing, and was often called out for daydreaming during class. Sometimes during his lunch breaks, Josh would wander through the school grounds and forget to go back to class. His teachers would find him sitting in a patch of grass or talking to a flowering weed growing in the playground.
