Eyme had came upon it not too long ago, but it wasn't really on accident either. One day she was walking from her last class and pondering over her answers to a pop quiz she'd just taken. Although she studied enough to get good grades like her older brother said, there was always room for improvement. But she like to get good grades because it made her feel good, not to be the best in the school like her brother.
She guessed that she wasn't paying that much attention because she suddenly looked up, feeling like she should've been near the Hufflepuff's area by now, and was left speechless; she had no idea where she was. And it was getting late and although she had stood around for quite a bit no one ever came close to where she was so she began to venture around.
Eyme then came across a very small and dusty set of stairs that looked familiar to her so she went up them. But instead of leading her to anywhere she knew it led to a dead end. It was a little room littered with dust, discarded items, cleaning supplies, and a strange looking hole. She peeked in and saw a dimly lit room—the moonlight was shining through the dirty window. At first Eyme was a little frightened, since it was dark, but then it began to dawn to her that obviously no one knew about this place; it was her very own secret hide out.
Now Eyme was heading towards the area but unfortunately she wasn't being as careful as she should've been. She had grown so used to going to it that she became absent-minded and didn't pay attention to if anyone were following her. Eyme was thinking about the art supplies she had left there, and what she'd work on in her second room today. She was wearing her most worn clothes, which meant an old band shirt and a pair of worn jeans and sneakers, so she wouldn't get anything significant dirty like her robes and uniform.
As she climbed quietly up the stairs she looked over the things she was carrying, which was a small pack of food, a little wheel, and cracked teacup. Eyme then realized that she hadn't brought anything to drink but it was too late now, it was close to curfew so she had to make due with what she had.

Sean was making his way to the Hufflepuff common room when he noticed a girl from his house holding a bunch of things and headed a different way. It was close to curfew so he found that a bit strange and after a few seconds of debating decided that he should follow her. Was she not afraid of getting caught sneaking around after hours ? He wondered what she was up to while following at a safe distance.
Sean was not usually the type to break rules or follow people around but when it came to figuring something out, nothing would stop him. He continued following into an area he had never visited before, where was this girl going ? After a few minutes of following and making sure she didn't notice him, she went up these dusty set of stairs. Sean waited a few minutes before following up to make sure she wouldn't hear him.
After a few minutes, he started making his way up trying not to cough with all the dust in the air. It made him even more curious to where they were headed. What could possibly be up here ? He climbed the stairs slowly and once at the top hid behind the wall only peeking to see what the girl was doing.

If only she had been more careful. Eyme was nearing the top of the dusty, worn steps when she heard a quiet, barely audible sound behind her. She whipped her head around, staring at the only source of light down below, but the staircase was too dark to really see. Fear prickled her skin but after a moment of listening, the young Hufflepuff hurried up the stairs and disappeared into the darkness.
The little area at the top of the stairs was about the size off two closets. It was more of a landing area and there was no other stairs leading from it. At first it looked like a dead end but Eyme had craftily moved some things to hide the hole near the floor where she would crawl through. It was harder to find in the darkness so whoever she felt like was following would have trouble unless they had their own source of light.
Before Eyme went in, crouching near the base of the small hole clutching her items, she looked back. Maybe she shouldn't go in but hide somewhere to the side to see what this person was doing. It was almost curfew and if either of them got caught it would make her really mad; this was her favorite place in the entire castle!
Eyme scurried silently over to the side, hiding behind a child-sized statue covered in cloth riddle with holes. By now her clothes were covered in dust and cobwebs; she was wearing her pajamas, which consisted of a black flamingo onesie, underneath her black robes. The robes covered it up well since they matched with the dark, but that didn't make her any less worried. Eyme peeked from behind the statue, waiting for signs of the intruder...or intruders.

Sean peeked at the small room but could hardly see a thing threw the darkness. He couldn't see or hear anybody so after a few seconds of waiting he decided to slowly walk in the room. It was very dusty and filled with things, was it a attic of some sort ? Where had the girl gone ? The room was a dead end, Sean slowly made his way in the middle of the room.
He felt like he was being watched but from where ? Had the girl caught him ? He tried his best to look around but he could only see shadows of the different objects in the tiny room. The more he stood there the more he felt watched, there was definitely someone there with him. After a few seconds he decides to try and figure out if the girl was there. He whispered so that no one could hear him from downstairs.
"Hello..? Are you there ?"
As he spoke he thought of how strange his behavior must have seemed to the young girl. He had followed her all the way here with no other reason than curiosity, she could think that he meant her harm.
"I saw you walk away from the common room and was curious. I hope I haven't scared you"

Fear spiked in Eyme but she remained quiet; it was a boy and he seemed harmless but she had conflicted feelings. This was her hiding place and she didn't want anyone else to find out, but Eyme was also very kindhearted and felt bad. Maybe she should let him in on the secret place, maybe he would like to have somewhere to get away from everything that overwhelmed, just so he could be alone and at peace.
But still she crouched there, unsure of what to do. She liked being alone but also liked people, she was a true ambivert. And by the sound of his quiet, calming voice he seemed like the right person to let on the place. Eyme waited one more beat before stepping out of the shadows.
She regarded the boy wearily before whispering, "Hello...I'm Eyme. Please do be quiet but this is a secret place and I don't really want anyone else to know about it/." She glanced at the hole that was hidden from his view even though he was facing it. "The only reason why I'm telling you is because..." Eyme nearly said something spiteful but corrected herself. "Well, is because you can practically see it."
Eyme walked over to the hole and moved a discarded painting to the side. The painting had just a landscape on it. Whether or not the subject of the painting had disappeared was uncertain to her but Eyme wasn't worried about that now. The hole was made obvious now because it appeared to be a patch of darkness darker than entire room altogether.
She pointed at it. "That's it." Then she crawled into, leaving the boy behind. If he were to follow her all he would see first was darkness until Eyme struck a match and the small room was lit. It had a tiny window, a morrow against the wall, painting supplies strewn around, a pile of blankets in the corner, the pile of food she brought, and a small latern near the entrance. But Eyme moved the lantern away towards the back of the wall. If he came she would covered the hole up with a big piece of wood to block out the light.
“I stay here over night on Friday's, which is today.”

Sean almost jumped at the sound of her voice, she was there all along. He looked at the young girl that had presented herself. A secret place ? He took a second before saying anything. His lack of social skills became very apparent when he could actually see the person he was talking to.
"I'm Sean Hearth.. Nice to meet you Eyme"
He looked towards the hole she had previously covered with a painting, Sean couldn't see a thing in there. As she crawled threw it, he stood there without moving. Does she want me to follow her ? He didn't want to intrude on her secret place, as much as he was curious he understood probably more than anyone the need to be alone. But he had already followed her this far.. After a few moments of internal debating he slowly crawled threw the hole and sat opposite Eyme. His greyish brown eyes lit up with every flicker from the lantern.
He looked around, she had made it quite cozy, he wondered how many times she had done this. His eyes went back at her and he didn't know quite what to say to her. He had followed her without her knowledge and was now sitting in her secret place. After a minute of silence he decided it was probably time to try and say something.
"How did you find this place ?"
His face was always so cold and emotionless which was quite strange for a boy his age. He tried his best to sound friendly though it wasn't great.

Now that Sean was in on her secret place Eyme felt quite insecure, like she was exposed but it wasn't all in a bad way. She was huddled near the blankets, hugging her legs to herself as she thought but she realized that she wasn't really uncomfortable; giving someone else permission to do something concerning her felt like she was releasing any anxiety. But Eyme didn't let her nervousness show in any way, she simply watched the boy with curious yet careful eyes, as if she didn't entirely trust him.
She took time gazing at him. They sat opposite and the room was just big enough for that distance between them to be comfortable, given how they were barely acquaintances. Eyme studied him from head to toe, trying to get a good read on him: he seemed cold and indifferent, as if he only cared for the logical points of things. This made Eyme feel like he was from Ravenclaw or Slytherin, since they usually acted on their minds and not their hearts...but what was going through Sean's mind to follow her? Was it just the curiosity or something else, maybe the pining for true friendship that Eyme always felt...
He was good-looking, and it took a lot for her to come to that conclusion at this age. But it was because of the mix of mystery and how she was having a hard time understanding him that did it besides his looks. Eyme recognized his Irish accent and suddenly became conscious of her own Welsh accent, which wasn't too common around Hogwarts. Luckily she was able to feign an English one but her original one often slipped out when she wasn't focused.
The silence drew on until Sean interrupted by asking how he found the place. Her eye's dropped to the lantern, watching it flicker. The story wasn't particularly interesting. "I was lost a few months ago, back in...what's it now, March? I found it back in November, when I got lost in the halls and I stumbled up on it." Eyme stared up at the dark ceiling littered with cobwebs and moss. "I call it Eyme's Enclove. It's not much but it's really peaceful, when no one is near by enough to hear you."
Her eyes darted to his. "Why were you following me anyway?"

Sean could see that he interrupted Eyme's thoughts, he wondered what she was thinking. He listened to her explain how she had gotten lost a few months ago and found this place. He recognized an accent but it seemed as though she was trying to hide it so he didn't say anything. When she asked why he had followed her Sean caught himself trying to find an answer. He was curious of course but was there another reason ?
"I guess I'm just curious"
Sean tried his best to smile at her and looked at the provisions she had brought. He couldn't see any water or anything else to drink which he thought was strange, had she forgotten it ? Sean was very observant and spent more time watching people than socializing with them. But the odd time he would feel confident enough to try, he felt that way right now. He thought that Eyme seemed interesting, not a lot of girls would stick around in this dusty and dark place and there was something about her that he found rather cute.
"Eyme's Enclove, I like it."
He didn't say anything about the missing drink, he didn't want to embarrass her. After a few minutes, he looked at his watched and realized that the curfew was past by an hour. If he got caught in the corridors now he would be in trouble.
"I should probably try getting back to my dorm before it gets too late. And don't worry If i get caught I'll tell them I got lost, your secret is safe with me"

Just curious...then he's bound to be a Ravenclaw, she thought. Eyme was curious too, which was partially how she found this hiding space. She had been lost but she wandered up the dark, creepy steps instead of towards the light, like what she supposed normal people would. Sometimes unusual things caught her eye and she couldn't help but wander towards it. Considering that, she realized that she couldn't really be that upset anymore, she probably would've done the same thing if she had caught him over here. But she probably would've been more sneaky.
She managed to smile when he complimented her naming skills for the place but she didn't meet his eyes. Eyme played with a fray on one of the blankets and stared off into the darkness. She felt like she was being awkward but she wasn't sure on what to say. Being rude made her feel bad and she wasn't in the mood exactly to be super kind at the moment.
She thought that Sean different like her for a moment but he was afraid of the rules. Eyme was too but she was careful and was beginning to learn her way around them. And just when she was beginning to enjoy his presence her excitement deflated and her smile was replaced with a frown that was threatening to turn into a scowl. Eyme didn't want him to really but it was his choice.
"Okay, then you better get going," she said, sourly. Her eyes flickered to his. She trusted his word enough but it wasn't anger but sadness in her eyes. She realized that she didn't want to be alone.
Eyme moved the little barrier so he could leave but before he would exit, she asked, "What house are you in? I'm a Hufflepuff."

Sean saw a hint of sadness when the young girl met his eyes. Did she not want him to leave ? He wasn't why she would want him to stay. Sean would have probably stayed if asked to but she had not really asked he had just assumed by the look in her eye so he didn't say anything. When she finally asked in what house he was in, he realized once again how different he was from the rest of his House.
"I'm a Hufflepuff"
Truth be told, Sean did not know exactly what that meant the first day he was sorted. He did not know much about the houses and what they stood for, but during his time at Hogwarts and with a bit of research he found out that he was different than the normal Hufflepuff. I mean he valued hard work and was patient but he was also very witty and not that friendly at least that all the time. The more he found out the more he felt like an alien among his House. What the sorting hat see in him that made him think that Hufflepuff was most suited for Sean ? After a few seconds of reflection, Sean gave a nod of farewell to Eyme and headed out.
