"Oh, come on..."

Sere cursed her wand, hissing like an irritated snake; but what anyone could see was nothing more than a blank stare at the cherry wood. This was the first time Sere felt like she wanted the duel to reach the end immediately, because of the shame-struck rather than pain-struck. Something was definitely going wrong today.

A pat on the back made Sere look up. Siobhan was giving her that encouraging act. Right, she couldn't give up now. Her teammates were doing their best. Even the transfer student, Vladislav, dancing in the flames, seemed to have no intention of giving up. Sere gripped her wand tightly. Okay, let's try this again.

Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Afternoon.

The duel would surely be coming to an end soon and now with this weird healing thing going on, there's a chance (though Axyen doubted it) that there might be a draw. He didn't know which one he would dread more: taking someone to the Hospital Wing or trying to determine which team lost and which team won based on a feeling. Axyen decided he preferred the former, because at least by then the decision should be fairly easy to call.

Vladislav attempted to cast Flipendo, whatever he did, it was wrong. Axyen watched as he hit himself with the spell, which looked like it hurt him a considerable amount. Then Sere cast a really good Cracker Jinx, Axyen may even go as far as to say that it was a perfect cast!

Unfortunately, that perfect cast didn't seem to go very far at all, as it didn't hit any of the Ravenclaws who found themselves capable of reading the attack. The fire that burned Vladislav finally went away, and his teammate Siobhan came to the rescue with the Reparifors spell. Axyen realized he was yet to commentate anything, due to forgetting to do so.

"Vladislav looks pretty healed up now and although that Cracker Jinx was excellent," Axyen glanced at the Ravenclaws. "It didn't seem to hit anybody." Axyen added, he almost added unfortunately at the end of that sentence. It started with and Edward casting Reparifors at Mylo!

"Aaaaand just like the Gryffindors, Ravenclaw also seems to have some healing strategy prepared." Axyen noted. Jessamine attempted to cast Flipendo at Vladislav, and like Vladislav it completely backfired and Jessamine was the one to get hit. Bad omen? Axyen thought to himself. Finally, there was Mylo—who attempted to cast the Ventus spell, and failed—maybe his wand movement was a bit off of something like that.

It seemed that aside from healing one another nobody was having very much success in the way of casting any spells designed to hurt the other team, as either they couldn't even get their spells to work, they couldn't hit or their spells managed to backfire. It truly was an experience.

At least some of the pain Mylo had been experiencing had subsided thanks to Edward, although he was very aware of the fact that a well placed spell could knock him out anyway.

This was far from over.

Siobhan could feel her exhaustion creeping up on her as yet more healing magic radiated from her soul and wand. It was hard work keeping your teammates fueled with your own energy when you had not much left to spare and they continued to exude what little you gave. Though she kept quiet, knowing that in the long run her ability to heal and dodge greatly outweighed her ability to accurately cast. If this was how she was meant to duel than so be it.

She hummed to herself as she stood up and wobbled slightly, the dizziness beginning to seep into her head as more and more of her concentration was taken with every practiced healing spell. This last spell had not been as strong on Vladislav as it could have been but it had brought him back a bit more it seemed.

Siobhan looked towards the otherside of the piste as though she could see her opponents. They could not focus in her line of sight but she knew that they could not have much energy left between the three of them anyway. This duel had been egregiously long and because they were all beginning to duel with harder, more advanced spells, the consequences of being hit, missing your target and failing to cast where much higher.

There was a conflict inside Sere's mind. She showed a slight improvement with her Cracker Jinx went in the right direction -instead of backfiring like the previous attempt- and forced the Ravens to move here and there to evade it. But that was exactly the problem: they could dodge her spell. Was she finally starting to get her luck back? Or was it all because her skills were getting better?

Sere didn't even dare to reach for that small glimmer of hope. She scanned the situation on the piste and locked in her next action without expecting too much. She didn't want to trip and fall into another round of disappointment.

Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Afternoon.

The round was quick to pick up again. It started off with Vladislav casting Nec Divinos Crepitus, which after Axyen instinctively backed away from it, noted it hit both Jessamine and Mylo; however, Edward was able to safely evade the incoming attack. "Impressive shot! Both Jessamine and Mylo got hit by that from the looks of it! Edward managed to dodge, it appears." Axyen commentated, just in case somebody in the audience was not able to see it. The next thing to happen was Sere aiming their wand towards Vladislav.

A healing spell. Axyen noted. "Ah, looks like Vladislav was healed—he is already looking better!" Axyen stated, looking at Vladislav who seemed to be about... half-way back to normal? Maybe more, maybe less? It was just a very quick estimate because Siobhan was trying to cast Flipendo.

Unfortunately for Siobhan, their aim was off and there was an added bonus of Mylo having a really good dodge in at that moment. "It soars and then it misses..." Axyen said, referring to the Flipendo that likely hit a wall harmlessly. However, things were about to pick back up again because as Axyen looked over to Ravenclaw, he noted they all were looking towards one person: Siobhan. Oh snap, is this the part where I need to get someone off of the stage? Axyen wondered to himself.

Axyen was wrong, because apparently, Siobhan was just really good at not getting hit. Jessamine's Flipendo couldn't reach the Gryffindor and Mylo had the same luck with his own Flipendo. However, Siobhan couldn't dodge them all, it seemed. For Edward's Flipendo was the one to land true, but Siobhan was still standing.

"Impressive...! Siobhan is still up and going even after getting targeted!" Axyen commentated, he was genuinely amazed. He imagined once a team singled out a single person, it was pretty much bound to be over. Maybe Siobhan was secretly faster than he imagined.

"However... it looks like this duel will be coming to an end soon...!" Axyen explained, thinking very hard about how this would go. So far, both teams were very impressive and they were in the endgame phase and not a single person was knocked out! Has this ever happened before? Axyen didn't really know, all he knew was this was likely abnormal.

If Edward hadn't healed him last round Mylo knew they very likely wouldn't have been able to withstand the onslaught of crackers that invaded their space. At least the attack hadn't diverted his attention too much and Mylo had been able to spot Siobhan also aiming her wand at him, allowing them to easily evade the spell that would have absolutely sent the duellist to the ground.

Their side of the piste didn't have too much luck either, as only Edward had managed to hit his target. At least something was better than nothing, especially as it seemed like his spell had done a decent amount of damage. Noting the next round of onslaughts was like about to come their way Mylo focussed their attention on the duel once more, wondering how it would end.
