Account Closure Options & Consequences

There are several ways a user may leave the site, and it is important to understand the differences, as some decisions are permanent and irreversible.

1. Deletion at the Request of a Parent or Guardian (Minors)

If an account is deleted at the request of a parent or legal guardian, this decision is final and cannot be reversed.
  • The account is permanently removed.
  • An IP ban is applied.
  • Attempts to return using alternate accounts, VPNs, or proxies will be identified.
  • We will honor the parent or guardian's expectation of full removal.
While many parents choose to use parental controls instead, if a removal request is made, we will comply fully. The consequence is complete and permanent removal from the community.

2. Permanent (“Soft”) Deletion

Some users request permanent soft deletion of their own account because they want their presence fully erased. While the term "soft deletion" may sound reversible, it is not.
  • The account is permanently removed.
  • An IP ban is applied.
  • There is no reinstatement under any circumstances.
  • Friends or family attempting to join from the same devices or networks may be flagged as ban evasion.
  • Once this option is chosen, it cannot be undone.
3. Leaving Without Deactivation
  • The most common option.
  • The account remains intact.
  • No action is required.
The user simply stops participating.

This preserves the option to return in the future, whether months or years later, without complications. The vast majority of users choose this route.

4. Account Deactivation

This option disables the current account so the user may later create a new one.
  • Some staff enforce waiting periods for deactivation, I do not. If you made this account 2 months ago and want to deactivate today, I will deactivate you. However you will not be eligible to make a new account until your 6 months is up.
  • The user is responsible for understanding the implications.
  • Once deactivated, the account cannot be accessed for questions, appeals, or clarification.
So, deactivation is allowed, but it is often not the most practical choice.

___________

If you are unhappy, the safest and most flexible option is simply to step away. Leaving preserves your agency and future options.

Permanent deletion forfeits that control entirely. While it is available, it is not a decision we encourage lightly.
Thank you Mr. Lear <3 I think I will stay, but I'll go on hiatus for a while then come back. I'll go on hiatus from tomorrow cause there is still some stuff I will have to do

In response to your other question:

Most college students already have a personal device for coursework, and I recommend using that device to access the site. In my experience, most colleges do not block this site. Regionally, I am not aware of any colleges in your area that restrict access. Some high schools do, largely because students were using the site during class time rather than for academic work.

If two members access the site from the same device, which is uncommon given that even very young users typically have their own devices, we do have a verification process in place. While this can slow the character creation process by a day or so, I have over twenty years of experience handling these situations and am usually able to validate legitimate claims.

That said, it is unfortunately common for a user to leave the site and then have a "friend" or "family member" attempt to join shortly afterward. This is a pattern we see regularly and must account for in our policies. I am not suggesting that this applies to your situation, but it does explain why we take shared-device cases seriously and follow a structured verification process.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

yeah, this is the one website my school doesn't block on our school computers. Every other role play website is blocked

Same here. My school is very strict. (For other reasons besides kids playing games in class), so I'm lucky I can still access the site on my school computer. :)

I work with most schools pretty readily. Thankfully as long as you guys are being responsible, most school administrators are pretty OK with us.

As for the person potentially joining is that your sister specifically or someone else.

My school had Spotify unblocked at first, then it got blocked for a few years, now it's unblocked again. Though they did block Pinterest for a bit of a silly reason (I'd rather not say outside of private messaging) which makes me a little sad since I love scrolling Pinterest when I get free time. :)
