The sun among the clouds
On October 7, around 9:30 a.m., at the big lake, it was sunny weather. I do this Rp with @Alex Thompson
October had just begun, bringing with it the gray skies and rain, my favorite weather. It was the weekend, and I was so glad. Despite all the effort I put into every subject, I couldn't seem to maintain a decent level. On top of that, I was starting to miss my family terribly: my brothers and their humor and their knack for always making me smile. My mom and her tenderness, and Dad and his jokes!
This morning when I woke up, the sun was shining, but a light mist hung over the dew. I got up and put on a little pink sweater, blue jeans, and my boots. I went downstairs to have breakfast, then returned to my dormitory to put my wand in my small satchel. I went outside and headed towards the lake, this large, dark expanse of water where a light mist hovered over its smooth surface. I sat on a rock and gazed at it, thinking about home. I had hoped so much that I wouldn't have to keep going to school, and now that I'm in a school of magic, I just want to go home. I miss everything: my family, my forest, the animals. Besides, I couldn't see myself being a witch; I was incapable of doing anything. So I let a tear roll down my cheek.

Alex woke up to a cold winter day. Alex never really liked winters as it was always so cold and he had wear those thick clothes and sweaters. Alex liked summer, where he could wear lose clothers and play freely. But out of pure need to conquer the freezing wind, Alex put on a layer of his favourite blue sweater along with a brown jacket. Alex skipped lunch and went straight to roam the school. Alex's curious mind couldn't let him have breakfast peacefully while he was in a castle that had secrets even the Professors didn't know. Alex took his wand, stuffed his pockets with some candies, and started to roamfrom the halls, to everywhere in the castle. It was his first weekend here at Hogwarts.
He finally decided to go out in the fields to get the much-needed sunlight. He went out to find the grounds half-covered in snow. He walked his way through the snow to the Great Lake. He knew this lake as he read about it. This was the lake adjacent to the castle, and from the dungeons of the Slytherin common room, they could even see inside the river. Alex was staring at the beautiful, large, and dark lake when he noticed a small figure sitting beside the lake. It seemed like a girl, and maybe she was crying. Alex couldn't figure that out. He thought that he should leave anyway, but father structured him, "Alex, always be compassionate. "
Alex walked over to the girl and sat beside her. Alex nudged her and said without waiting for her response, "Heyy, I am Alex. I am in Hufflepuff. You seem sad?? What's the matter?? Maybe I can help you??" Alex made sure he was polite. His voice had a genuine warmth and willingness to help. Maybe, because he was Hufflepuff, he naturally got this talent.

I gazed at the vast expanse of water, my blue eyes mirroring the color of the sky. The snow surrounding me continued to gleam. I tightened my cloak slightly, the cold gradually numbing me. I absentmindedly stroked the pearl on my bracelet, a gift from someone for Christmas before I knew I was going to be a witch. Remembering that time made my heart ache once more, and tears streamed down my cheeks. Then I heard a rustling in the snow. Someone was approaching. I didn't want to be seen crying, especially if it was a pure-blood; they might laugh at me. I turned my head slightly and saw a young boy sit down beside me. He nudged me gently with his elbow and told me his name was Alex, and he was in Hufflepuff. Then he followed with three questions: if I was okay, if I was sad, and if he could help me. I didn't want to answer; my shyness told me to run away. But Mom told me, "Accept the hand others offer you, and you'll make lots of friends." I chose to listen to my mom and answered her in a small voice:
“My name is Lili Blue, I’m in Ravenclaw, pleased to meet you. Actually, no, I’m not doing well. I miss my family, and I doubt I’m worthy of being a witch.”
My voice broke at the end of my sentence. I was really struggling to keep it together.

Alex didn't know about the feelings Lili was facing. He was a pure-blood, after all. He knew from the very start that he deserved to be a wizard, but seeing this girl crying over this made his heart ache. Alex couldn't think of a reply instantly. His memory flashed back to the time his father told him about some students feeling pressured and some muggle-born even feeling that they don't deserve to be a wizard or witch. Alex thought carefully about what to say and what not to say. Finally, he made his decision.
"You know, Lili, sometimes Hogwarts can be overwhelming. I believe you are a muggle-born." Alex has a calm and maybe measured tone, making sure he doesn't say anything hurtful. He continued slowly, "I don't exactly know how you feel, if I am being true, but I know one thing. Hogwarts takes students who deserve to be witches and wizards. And Lili, you are in Ravenclaw. The house of intelligence. You can't feel so defeated from the very start. Pump up, girl!! We've got a long way to go," Alex said that last part cheerfully. He finally concluded,"And as for missing family, everyone is your family here. I can be your friend. And Lili, a bright face like yours, doesn't deserve these tears..."
Alex didn't know if this made her feel better or not, but at least he tried. He wished from the bottom of his heart that this might cheer her up a little. He put his hand back in his pockets when he realized the candies were inside. He quickly pulled them out and said excitedly, " Heyyy!!! Look!!! I completely forgot I got these on my way out. You want some?? They are great. " Alex put his hand forward, expecting her to take maybe even one candy.

Alex told me I shouldn't be as downcast as we were at the beginning of the year and that we still had a long way to go at Hogwarts, but doubt still lingered inside me. He then told me that Hogwarts only selects those worthy of being wizards or witches, but I had always lived in the countryside, running barefoot in my garden, climbing trees, and loving to play with my brothers. Now that I was at Hogwarts, I no longer had that, and I felt truly alone. He also told me that with a face as radiant as mine, I shouldn't cry, and that he was ready to become my friend and help me. A slight smile appeared on my lips; having a friend might be the first time I'd ever experienced Hogwarts. I thought of my family, and how proud they would be of me. So I decided that I had to try, to try to keep going. I could even ask him for help; he could surely help me. While I was thinking, he told me he had some candy, that it was delicious, and that I could have some if I wanted. I hesitated a little, then I replied politely.
"Thank you for your support, Alex. I have a question: if I need your help with certain subjects at Hogwarts, would you be willing to help me? And I'd gladly accept some of your sweets; it's true that being outside in this cold weather makes me hungry."
My voice was just as hoarse as before, but it didn't break, and it was softer. Tonight I'll write a letter to Mom and tell her I've made a friend. She'll surely be happy.

Alex felt relieved that his words helped Lili feel better. He was being a true Hufflepuff by helping Lili. He scratched the back of his neck with his one hand while his other hand was straight towards Lili, filled with candies. Something that Lili said made Alex stop. Alex was good at studies, but he didn't know whether he was a good teacher and if he would be able to help Lili with her problems. But, regardless of anything, he decided to settle on the truth.
He said softly, "Look, Lili. I can't promise you. I might be good at studies, but I am not sure if I am a good teacher or not." Alex didn't want to make her upset and added bravely, "But, I can try. We can both figure out your problems together. Plus, we have got so many Professors to talk to about the problems" I gently held her hand then and said, "No matter what... I am ready to help you. If you need anything, you can ask me. And by the way, can you tell me about the Muggle world?? I always wanted to know about it. Like, how do you all live without magic?? and how did you all come to Hogwarts?? and everything " Alex's voice was filled with excitement and curiosity, but he soon realised that he might have said too much. He added in a small apologetic voice, "I am sorry!! I was just curious. It's fine!! You can tell me later... Here have this one," Alex said, holding out a particular candy, "It's chocolate flavour!! Figured you might like it "

Alex replied that he could help me, but he wasn't sure he was a good teacher. He thought it would be a good idea to ask the professor. I smiled kindly at him and replied in a soft voice that was now trembling from the cold.
"Yes, you're right, I'll do that on Monday."
I turned and looked out at the dark expanse. The gentle sound of the ripples was soothing and calming. Alex spoke again. He wanted me to tell him about the Muggle world. Every time I heard that word, I had a long moment of reaction. For me, my way of life didn't have a specific name before. After thinking about my answer, I replied:
"Well, it's a bit complicated to explain. I can take my parents' work as an example; they take care of the forest and the animals. I think I heard that you use magic to heal the animals, but we don't. We use electronic devices. And it works. Sorry, but it's really hard to explain."
While I was trying to figure out another way to explain my daily life, he handed me a candy and told me it was chocolate and that he thought I'd like it. A smile appeared on my lips, and I took the candy, saying to him:
“Thank you, I love chocolate candies. Oh, sorry, I didn’t bring anything except my baguette…”
I felt my cheeks flush; it always happened when I talked to other people. But it didn’t matter, at least I had a friend.

Lili told Alex that the functioning of the Muggle world was very complicated to explain right now. Alex nodded; he understood that he might have made her a bit overwhelmed. Alex's curiosity wasn't over, but he decided not to ask any more questions. He noticed the trembling in her voice due to the cold. Alex slowly moved closer to her, making sure she was comfortable, and gently rubbed her hand. Alex said softly, "Whenever I used to feel cold, my mom used to rub my hands like this. And sorry if you felt that I used the word Muggle."
Alex didn't want to hurt her feelings; instead wanted to make her feel better. She looked at her face and tried to say in a calm voice, but there was a hint of excitement, "Heyy!! Even you have blue eyes. I thought only I had those... That's nice. " He saw her face getting flushed and immediately pulled back, thinking she was getting uncomfortable. Alex said quickly,"I am sorry, Lili, if I made you uncomfortable. I was trying to make you feel warm a little bit, but....." Before Alex continued, he saw her still flushing and asked in a concerned voice, "Heyy!!! Are you alright?? It looks like you are feeling cold. Let's go inside."
There was a genuine look of concern in Alex's voice, and he himself was feeling cold due to the snow. He was rubbing his arms as they sat beside the lake, and he wanted to go inside but didn't want to abandon her. That is why he deeply wished she would say yes, and he could go inside to his common room and sit against the warm fire.

The sun among the clouds
On October 7, around 9:30 a.m., on the edge of the large lake, the weather was fine. I'm doing this PR with @Alex Thompson
It was cold outside, and I started to push the young boy away. He told me that when he was cold, his mother would rub his hands together to warm him up a little. The young boy also apologized for using the phrase "moment of..." Personally, it didn't bother me; I knew that many people only used it to talk about people who didn't possess magical powers, who lived normally in the world where I grew up. When he saw that I was really cold, he suggested we go inside. Embarrassed by his presence because I wasn't comfortable around certain people, I told him in a somewhat reassuring voice,
"I'm going inside, but if you want to stay outside, you can. I need to be alone for a while."
I got up from the rock I had been sitting on and headed towards Hogwarts. It wasn't against him or that I was leaving, but I didn't really like being in the company of certain people when I wasn't feeling well. I think I would have preferred to be with my friends, whom I've known for a long time, but for the moment... I haven't yet But which I hoped to have soon. I went back to Hogwarts to get warm.
Here is my last message!
