Dear Wes,

Merry Christmas!

I hope you're enjoying your holiday at the castle and don't feel too lonely! Maybe were you able to go to Hogsmeade? I heard the Christmas atmosphere there is really nice and you may even find some limited edition Christmas sweets at Honeydukes!
What about the gifts hidden in the Great Hall? Were you able to find others or are you stuck with your rubber chicken? (I'm just teasing you.)

Here in Portree, my mom's hometown, we are all gathered to my grandparents' house to celebrate Christmas and New Year. The weather is cold and landscapes are covered in snow giving even more a holiday vibe. It's really beautiful.
My brother and I took advantage of the opportunity to have a snowball fight which was entertaining but sadly I lost. We ended up building a snowman looking like the one on this postcard you will receive. He looks happy, doesn't he?

Although I'm happy to be with my family I still miss Hogwarts.
But do not worry I will fully enjoy this winter break and enjoy with them as my parents have real holidays and no work is involved.

I told my brother about the nickname you gave me "Bookworm" he laughed at it saying it wouldn't beat his own nicknames but that he would be more than happy to find new nicknames with you. "A good guy" he said. That was funny.

I will tell you more about my vacation when I get back!

Until then take care and don't get a cold,
Your bookworm friend,
Rose

Dear Skylar,

How are you? How are your holidays at Hogwarts going?

I hope you do still find some entertainments. Did you go exploring around? Maybe we could also do it together after the holidays since a lot are to be discovered!

What about the ambience at Hogwarts? It may feel a bit empty but the atmosphere might be different and reveal almost another castle.

As for me I am in Portree with my family at my grandparents' house. I'm happy to see them again and to be able to spend time with them. My grandfather has got a small greenhouse in the garden and he showed me the different plants he has. Although I don't know much about it it was interesting and it made me think of you and how you would have wanted to see all the small plants there were here. I hope one day you could come.

Although the weather is cold the snow makes everything prettier and more Christmas looking. I went to the downtown the other day and the shop fronts were all well decorated with pretty Christmas ornaments. There is also a Christmas tree light up at night and a small Christmas market where we are supposed to go tomorrow evening to buy small artefacts and have dinner. Nevertheless my purpose to tell you I have been in downtown other than describing it was because I have found a book on toadstools which I send you along with this letter. It will be a quite big package and heavy but the owl is robust so he will be fine.

I wish you to have a wonderful Christmas!

Let's stargaze together again after holidays,

Take care,
Your dearest friend,
Rose

Dear Zephyr, (or should I call you King of Wind?)

I hope this letter finds you well. As you will see there is drawn reindeer on the postcard as you like animals, I thought you will like it.

I was really delighted to receive a letter from you and to read about your holidays which you seem to be enjoying!

It was amusing to read about the small stories happening with Scout and Marshmallow. They seem to be really entertaining to have around. I'm sure they may have been so happy to see you again. Especially Marshmallow if I recall well like you quite a lot. (I'm teasing you of course).

I appreciated the pictures you joined to the letter. Scout and Marshmallow looked to be adorable -and I do understand why her name is Marshmallow she looked to be really soft-. Thank you also for the small gift it was cute!

As you may know I am in Portree with my parents and brother at our grandparents' house. It's really nice here especially with the fireplace where I sit near with Olen who as you predicted had been missing me more than you could imagine. He keeps sticking to me even as I am writing this letter he is lying at my feet. But I did miss him too so I was happy to be with him again.

My family and I also went to the downtown where shops are well decorated and illuminated. There is a big Christmas tree in the middle of the main square. At night it is all lighted up that's beautiful. Tomorrow we are going to the Christmas market to eat and buy some artefacts. I can't wait!

I told about you and your participation to the broom racing as well as your interest in Quidditch to my brother. He was curious about you and said that you should have a decent broomstick. Thus he recommended one beginner-friendly hoping you will appreciate it as a Christmas gift.

A letter is sadly not enough to tell you all about my holidays thus I hope we would be able to climb a tree again and share more details about our respective winter breaks.

I wish you a nice Merry Christmas,

Take care,
Your friend,
Rose
