International Women's Day
Griseldis stayed awake for almost the whole night due to being too excited. This would be her first time celebrating International Women's Day in Hogwarts and not only did her good friend, the current Ravenclaw Prefect, Ruthie asked her to support her errand. The Head of Ravenclaw, Professor Equinox also will be participating in the errand. But fewer hours of sleep still couldn't conquer over the lioness's powerful energy. She really admired Ruthie's idea to create this errand as a great opportunity for everyone to celebrate International Women's Day, to not only giving their admiration to Muggle women but also to the witches as well, getting to know about the women from two different worlds would be so inspiring for them.Interacting with @Ruthie Greer @Alaric Equinox @Willow Anderson

It was Sunday, so the students didn't need to wear their robes and were allowed to wear their casual clothing but Griseldis wasn't a type of girl who was into fashion, she often wore very basic style outfits that made her feel comfortable. So she decided to wear a simple white T-shirt with a printed word "Inspired" on it, and a dark blue and white striped skirt. Once Griseldis wore her black sneakers on, she took the box that was filled with crafting supplies from her bed and quickly left her dorm room, and while walking towards the back of the fat lady's painting, she didn't forget to wave hello to her other Housemates in the Gryffindor Common Room.
Walking down the stairs carefully and trying her best not to trip over if her own clumsiness ever decided to hinder her. Thankfully nothing happened and she safely arrived in the Great Hall. She saw Ruthie and the Head of Ravenclaw already there, but before greeting them, she needed to place her box gently on the center tables right beside another box, then turned around to face them with her bright smile. "Hi, Ruthie!", she went to give her Ravenclaw friend a quick hug and looked up at Head of Ravenclaw, "And hello, Professor Equinox!", the Gryffindor Prefect politely gave him a greeting nod. "I'm super happy to be able to participate in this wonderful errand and I promise to do my best to help out.", said the lioness with so much enthusiasm in her cheerful tone to them. The errand was quite open to everyone so it wasn't surprising to see a lot of new and old students starting to enter the Great Hall.
And after Ruthie finished her speech to all the students who participate in her errand, Griseldis watch as each of them began to do their crafting, including Ruthie herself and even Professor Equinox. Since most people were in their own outfits instead of robes, it was hard to tell which House they were in. However, she noticed a blond girl with light blue eyes who was also looking at her for a brief moment, it was Willow Anderson, they were both Quill pals before and wrote about their past and current times in Hogwarts but somehow stopped due to exams and other personal matters, so pretty much both were being understanding but it would be a lie if she didn't miss the time of them sending owls to each other, she didn't even get the chance to let her owl, Crystal to send the letter to her. Though, fate could be funny sometimes when Griseldis got to see Willow in person in her own errand where they could finally interact. Griseldis walked up to Willow and saw she had a few handmade bracelets on the table, "Hi Willow, it's very nice to see you again and I absolutely love those bracelets, they're so pretty." she praised, then another Hufflepuff girl came up to them, she remembered her because she was also one of her errands's participates, Mildred Wilson. Both girls clearly knew each other and before Griseldis could say hi to her, Professor Equinox also came to check on them. When Griseldis saw him pulling out a flat cherrywood case from his pants pocket as he sat and the moment he opened it, she let out a soft gasp of surprise, seeing what was revealed was the very black quill she made for him as a Christmas gift. Griseldis could feel two kinds of emotions in her heart that were pride, and joy. She really didn't expect that Professor Equinox would use the quill pen.
She tried so hard not to show that she was his "Secret Santa" and when he asked them if there were any women they wanted to honor, she thought about it for a short while, there was one woman came in her mind and so she replied to him with a slightly sad smile, "There is one woman I really want to honor but didn't have the chance to show it to her in person. It's my grandma, she was a famous National Chef who once showed whole China that a woman can also become a representative of their own country. Even though I was very young at that time when she was still alive, I never forget how heavenly delicious the dishes she cooked for me." It would be fair to share about it after Professor Equinox told them he wanted to honor the woman who raised him, "I'm sure she must be a wonderful woman, Professor Equinox." Looking back at the supplies on the table, her grandma might not be able to receive it but it was the thought that count. Griseldis decided to write a card for her grandma in Chinese.

"Omph-" the last thing Mildred had expected was for Willow to hug her- she was a tad taken back a first although she soon found herself hugging the girl back. During this exchange, Mildred watched as Willow head off and return with a cupcake- huh, she didn't know snacks were being served. She must have missed that part- she would definitely have to go get some later.
Listening to Willow explain who the card was for she nodded, "That's really cool! I'm sure your mother will love it!" she smiled, looking at Willow's work, it was clear she was talented. If she were to receive something similar like that, she'd also be over the moon- just like how she was sure Willow's mother will be- over the moon. She looked at Willow again and mentioned, "You're really gifted! have you always liked crafts?" While thinking back on who she should make cards for- another person came to mind. Freya, someone who she had become friends due to owls, of course, they didn't know each other well, however, Mildred absolutely loved the girl love towards plumbing and of course- the hard work she put into tasks. Although for now, she would work on the cards for the prefect as well, she had to get over this dumb fear someday.
While Mildred thought back on what kind of paper she should use, Someone approached the table, Mildred wasn't sure who she was but they did know willow and she supposed that they were alright then. They had introduced themselves as Lydia, Mildred waved at her and said "Hey! it's nice to meet you Lydia, you have a really pretty name! feel free to call me Mildred." Re-focusing back on the task on hand- paper, did it really matter? should she use colors that represented their houses? she sighed- a tad stressed about what she should do. Completely forgetting her surroundings- suddenly she heard “I think if you outline those in this color, it will give them that little extra touch.” glancing up to see who the voice came from, she gasped.
Oh dear.
Mildred definitely did not sign up for this- well alright she did. It appeared that Professor Equinox had come over and seems to be working on his own craft, while it wasn't like she disliked the Professors of the school, it was just that they had so much power over her- something she didn't like. Although- it was completely unreasonable, she understood this but yet she couldn't help but be fearful. Yes, he was the head of Ravenclaw and wouldn't do anything to harm her or her peers, and a bunch of other factors, she still wanted to remain alert. She watched as he gave Willow a green ink to outline her plants, it was pretty she had to agree on that.
Without even noticing it, it seemed that the Griffiendor prefect appeared, which was perfect to Mildred since she could hand out her card. A question was asked by Professor Equinox regarding the cards and who they were for, she listened as everyone answered the question. She noticed that the Gryffindor prefect mentioned her grandmother, while of course- Mildred did not know her, she had to agree that the prefect's grandmother did sound amazing, "Sorry for your lost, she sounded like she was an amazing woman." Wanting to answer her question herself, "Not really sure who I want to make these for, I was thinking about the Prefects running the event."
After everyone had answered, Willow mentioned that she would make one for her if she would allow it. She was absouletly touched by this- although, she didn't want to bother the girl and of course she'd never done anything amazing to deserve something like that. She smiled and said "If you want too! but it's alright no need to bother yourself." listening to her explain that she might make a poster also, she knew that the result would be absolutely amazing, she told willow "Best of luck! If you make a poster, I'm sure it'll come out great."
Remembering the whole purpose of the event Mildred started working on her card, She pulled out two blank white sheets then proceeded to fold them both in half. First, she would make one for the Gryffindor Prefect since she was literally right there. Grisedsi? Griseldis ? how do you even spell that? Mildred accidentally spelled her name wrong the first time, although she guessed that it was okay. She then started writing a letter thanking her for all of her hard work and drew a picture of the lion- or rather tried too. Of course- arts and crafts were never her specialties. She decided that the final result was alright- the errand poster did not say they had to be gifted at crafts or anything like that.
Mildred signed off her card and handed it to the Prefect, "Excuse me?" she held the card to her. "super sorry to bother you- but I had you and Ruthie in mind when thinking of the errand, hope you don't mind." Leaving it at that, she decided that she was feeling a tad claustrophobic- she definitely had to hit up where the snacks were. She walked over to where they were and began eating some cupcakes, She'd have to work on Ruthie's card after this- she hoped they both would like it, but for now, she will just stuff her face with food and hide-
Card - The card Gris was given.

"International Women's Day... It's here... right?" Breana muttered to herself, wandering into the Great Hall as she looked at the flyer that was neatly placed on top of the stack of books that she carried off from the library. They weren't impossibly massive, but for someone who's a mere 4 feet with barely any strength, she was carrying an armful. This celebration would be the first-- and hopefully the first of many-- event that Breana would participate in. She didn't celebrate this with her parents that much, though. The closest she can remember of her celebrating it with them was when her father asked her to handpick the featured books to display on that day. Now, she wanted to make a good first impression with the fellow students, so she stocked up on reading about Women's Rights in the Wizarding World. Unfortunately, all of that knowledge was wiped after she slept through the book, leaving only very few information (and a drool stain on a page) that she can relay to other people.
She hopes that she can talk about something to other people at least. Breana hasn't met any of her peers personally, let alone anyone in her batch of first years, so this is basically walking in blind in a dark alley for her. Still, a bit of adrenaline has started to kick in, as she looked around to see what's currently happening. "Oookay... okayokayokay. You can do this, Breana!!" She thought to herself, huffing and readjusting her hold of the books. She internally thanked her past self's choice of wardrobe since it was a bit easier to move in for her current dilemma. Besides, it's the only thing that she brought to school that's close to the theme. It was a cute purple v-neck top that reads, "Don't divide, conquer." with a lipstick-styled font on it. The rest of Breana's outfit is a simple purple hair clip, a black skirt, and large blue-ish black climbing boots.
She looked around for someone, or even just a table for her to set the books on. She glanced over at the crafting table, where a lot of girls, and even the Head of Ravenclaw himself are talking with and crafting with each other. Breana walked over and carefully placed her books on the table, hoping that she didn't disturb anyone too much with it. "Okay, just... just some small talk. Nothing wrong with asking for stuff, right?" She thought to herself, trying to reassure her as she takes on one of the multiple hurdles she hates jumping over (other than an actual hurdle) and that's striking up the conversation first. She cleared her throat, and spoke up towards the girl with the cute bun hairstyle. "U-uh... Hey!" She squeaked mildly, doing a small wave to catch the girl's attention. "You don't mind me putting my books here, right...? I'm, uh... doing... a sort of a card t-too..." She stuttered. Phew! That was done at least. Hopefully the small talk would be better from here. She then pulled out her quill, and was about to instinctively going to dip it on the metallic ink, but Breana stopped herself as she remembered that it wasn't hers. It was Sir Equinox's ink. She retracted her hand, embarrassed of herself as she rummaged in her bag for hew own simple black ink bottle.

A gasp from @Griseldis Edelhardt drew his attention to her, and he thought he understood why but would stay silent on the matter. If she truly had made the quill for him, then he was glad that she was able to see him use it. He thought she had done a spectacular job on it, and he would use it so long as he could. “Honoring the once-living is just as important as honoring the living. Your grandmother would have been a woman after my own heart.” Alaric loved food, and he wasn’t sure if it was because he could taste better or if it just brought him comfort. “Thank you, she truly is an amazing woman, and I wouldn’t be the man I am today without her.” That was truer than they knew because, without her, it was very likely that Alaric could have grown up to be just as cruel as his father.Interacting with | Everyone.
Alaric would smile warmly at @Willow Anderson and give her a nod. “You are most welcome, and of course, you can use those for your other cards. Please use the inks to your heart's content! I think that it is beautiful that you are also honoring your mother.” Looking back down at his sage paper before plucking a silver opalescent black ink from the box and opening it. When @Persephone Barret muttered her displeasure, it was cause enough for Alaric to look up at her. “It is not required for you to join if you do not like the idea, but blowing out someone else’s candle will not make yours shine any brighter.” He spoke the simple statement softly.
A young boy (@Sean Hearth) entered the room now silently, not speaking to others but wanting to participate. He observed the boy for a few moments as he gathered his supplies and started to sketch. "You are a very talented young man." His attention was drawn as he was addressed by @Lydia Cooper. “Good morning to you as well.” Then he felt the presence of someone leaning over him. He would shift to allow the person more room to reach what they were looking for. He looked back at @Margo White with the same warm smile he had given everyone else that morning. “Not to worry, you have committed no foul here. Have fun with the normally neglected color.” With a slight nod of his head before she left.
When @Mildred Wilson responded to his question as well, he offered her his signature smile. He did try his best not to scare the students but his dark vermillion eyes, unnaturally pale skin, which was covered up with make-up making it milky white instead of sickly pale, and the missing teeth where his fangs were known to come in never helped. Alaric tried, though, and he allowed the students to come to him on their own terms. He wanted to make it well know what he was and that if the students had any questions for him, about him, they were allowed to ask him. “Ah, honoring the young ladies who put this all together. That is also very admirable.”
Some books being gently set down made him look towards @Breana Oliveire. As the girl sat down and settle, she reached her quill for his bottle of ink. He hadn’t moved to stop her, but she stopped herself. “Please, you may use this as well. I brought the crate of them for everyone one to use. If you look here-“ He motioned at the container that held 40 bottles, two missing. “-You can even choose your own color. I am, however, happy to share the swirled silver black with you if you wish to use it.” With that, he dipped his black quill in ink and started to write his own card, beginning with the name Victoria.

Lydia smiled wide at Mildred's words, her pale cheeks turning a bright pink.
"Thank you so much Mildred!" she thanked the girl and then looked down at the table, thinking about what she might have needed for her cards. She reached for some paper and after having cut it to the size she was looking for, she started sketching on the first one.
The professor's words made her look up from her creation and she listened to the other people at the table answer the question. "I'm making one for my mother, then one for my sister and one for my grandmas; and I was thinking of making more of these cards and then leaving some on every House's table, or even hand them out in the Entrance Hall and spread the International Women's Day spirit!"
After that, Lydia concentrated back on her card. She knew her mother loved purple and flowers, so she started drawing little flowers in the four corners. Then she took a quill and the purple ink from the different supplies on the table and she started on the lettering. She wanted to thank her mother for everything that she had ever done to her, but at the same time she didn't know how to put all of that in the space of a single card. So she decided to simply write "Thank you Mom!" in an elegant cursive calligraphy. Lydia furrowed her eyebrows as she started writing, her quill moving slowly, as she let her fantasy take control. When she finished writing, she observed her card and nodded to herself; it looked pretty nice so far, and the more details she would have added, the better it would have looked.
Lydia went back to drawing some flowers, this time some they were leaning on the words, others were hanging from them and when she figured that there were enough of them she put down the quill. As she looked at the now almost ready card, she could feel that there was something missing; there was too much purple and not enough colour, so she took some blue and yellow ink and added little details to the flowers.
Once she was done with that, she looked up and saw the ink supply that Professor Equinox had brought and her eyes light up when she saw the gold ink. It would have been perfect for adding a little bit of sparkles and light to her card! "Excuse me Professor? Could I use the golden ink?" she asked him. It was true that the Professor had said that they could use them freely, but she still felt bad at the idea of simply reaching for one of them.

Alan had heard International Women's Day was on approach and was to be celebrated in the Great Hall. Understanding that two of his friends Gris and Ruthie had organised such an event along with Professor Equinox. The young lad was eager to lend his support towards his female companions, seeing them both as extraordinary women capable of being leaders in their own right for taking the time to prepare such an event for everyone. Hearing about International Women's Day from his Mother and Nan he remembers it as a day where the world appreciates women for their contribution and dedication to the world today whether it was muggles or wizards it was a day of rejoicing.
Making his way towards the Great Hall wearing a dark jean jacket with a white shirt underneath sporting blue pants and white runners. Entering he was welcomed into the vast Great Hall with the long tables instead of a feast was greeted with many crafting materials and small bits of nibbles lined along the way. Looking around Alan as he was making his way towards the other end of the hall manage to spot his friend Ruthie. Offering a smile, he waved towards Ruthie before taking his place in an empty spot. Looking at the vast materials the young lad had a thought in mind from the inspiring speech Ruthie which was to send both his Nan and Mum letters of appreciation for what they do, as both women have raised and looked after him for as long as he could remember. Alan noticed his best friend Gris had entered dropping in a care package filled with crafting supplies as well as other utensils used for creating great things such as posters or cards. If Gris were to notice Alan would wave towards his friend as he began reaching for pieces of cardboard and writing utensils setting up the equipment he needed for making his cards for both his Nan and Mum taking an extra two for his friends.
Already cutting away the materials and shaping the cards neatly using the favourite colours of his Mum as well as his Nan. Blue and purple being their favourites the young lad began creatively think what sort of message he was going to send to his folks as well as his friends. Already having something related to baking for His Nan. Alan pondered about his Mother remembering the times she'd come home early from work or despite being tired from a hard day managed to keep everything in the house in order, which gave him thoughts on what message to send. Wanting to make sure he made the cards correctly, he re-tried a couple of times with the idea that he wished to the greeting cards to be perfect. If one were to notice the young lad, they would be able to see how intensely he's working to make these crafted cards right muttering to himself "Hope Nan and Mom like these...they always manage to go out of limb, and it's high time I thank these properly, so these have to be right Al."

International Women's Day
The quill was oscillating between her second and third fingers when the first participant, a @Willow Anderson , arrived at the event. Ruthie recognized her from the previous errand in which she'd managed to help out Gris. The girl hadn't been the one to bloody up her hand, Ruthie recalled that much. This girl proceeded to put out a sign advertising friendship bracelets. Ruthie had never heard of a friendship bracelet before, but it seemed like such a kind gesture and in keeping with today's theme! "Did you make those?" the blonde asked the Hufflepuff. She'd be well impressed if she did; Ruthie had never really been the creative sort.
Willow was greeted by another one of the girls she had seen on her previous errand, @Mildred Wilson. Ruthie gave her a quick wave as she overhead Professor @Alaric Equinox offer up extra ink. It was metallic--shiny and pretty, certain to bring an extra flair to anyone's cards/posters! As he sat amongst them--like an equal--he enquired who those working on cards might be writing to. Ruthie hadn't even determined yet if she was going the card or the poster route. She'd been so busy planning the actual event that she hadn't really considered what she might do with it.
Her mouth scruntched together, unsure as yet how to answer her Head of House's question, when the voice of @Willow Anderson addressed her directly, thankful for the sustenance. "Of course! I hope you enjoy the sweets. I know there had been a special request for pink cupcakes, but purple is the official color of the day so hopefully, these work too," she explained cheerfully. Eating was one of her favorite things to do at any event so she was glad the food pleased the attendees now that she was on the planning side of equation. Willow seemed to be going the card route, but also was the first to express an interest in a poster, which got Ruthie thinking.
Ruthie had to admire Willow's enthusiasm, something that was not matched by @Persephone Barret if her comment was anything to go by. With widened eyes, Ruthie wanted to say something, but she wasn't sure what. How could she respond to that? Merlin, how was it that another girl could think it was ridiculous to celebrate her own rights, her own self? Had she not experienced any bias herself for being female? Thankfully, all of these questions seemed hush themselves temporary as the Professor addressed the other first year. Ruthie was grateful for that, very grateful. She didn't like exercising authority, even if she was technically a Prefect. It felt weird.
Ruthie noticed another girl, @Wren Caster, saunter in and get to work on writing a note. As she grabbed one of the larger pieces of paper, she thought she heard some sniffling. It looked, if only weakly, like the girl might be crying. What a range of emotions there was in the hall. "Pardon me, but are you all right?" she asked the girl. It was important to the Ravenclaw that this be a day of celebration, but she understood that other feelings may come through as well.
Soon came a boy, @Sean Hearth, who was making broad posters. They seemed to feature women she didn't know. "Wow, you can draw well," she said, always in awe of other people's artistic skill. "Who's Celina Barrett?" she inquired, wanting to know who he might be honoring. She suspected these might be historical figures, but the eleven year old's knowledge was very limited to Scotland and then the UK more broadly. Still, this is in part was they were here for--sharing knowledge--and she was eager to learn of other trail-blazing women.
The Hufflepuffs seemed to have gained a member when @Lydia Cooper showed up. Ru gave her a smile to welcome her to the table. Lydia was followed by another girl @Margo White who inquired who she was. "Yes, that's right," Ruthie answered, "thank you so much for coming. What was your name?" The girl mentioned the housepoints, which was fine. Ru wanted people here and if housepoints did that, so be it. The girl had apparently left a small parcel near her. The Scottish blond eyed it curiously before open it. Inside was a lovely bandana with "woman" and a skateboard on it. "Hey!" She called back to the girl, "Did you leave me this? It's lovely, thank you!" And so, she flung it around a knotted atop her hair like Rosie the Riveter.
@Griseldis Edelhardt seemed happy as always to jump in and help with an errand. Ruthie enjoyed their friendship very much and was grateful Gris was always there to lend a hand. She too was doing a card for a family member. "Your gran sounds amazing, Gris," Ruthie enthused. She only really knew her muggle grandparents, who seemed perfectly normal. It would have been nice to have ready-made family to look up to besides being a house wife, but that was a different era and things were different as she'd heard her parents explain.
"Yes, it's here! You're in the right place," Ruthie chirped as @Breana Oliveire joined the event. The girl seemed a bit nervous, but hopefully would settle in a bit soon. Ruthie felt like she had seen her around the common room, but not to speak to. Professor Equinox was quick to offer her his fancy color palette. Hopefully, this would make her more comfortable.
Smiling as he came in was her friend @Alan Noble. Ruthie returned his warm greeting. "Thanks for coming Alan!" she beamed. It was great to have some of the boys show up to support their female friends and women more generally. He was quick to start cutting up shapes and designs, but then Alan was creative as she had discovered in the common room. "I'm sure they'll like them," she replied to him, "it's the thought that counts as my mum says."
But looking at how furiously Alan was working and how creative and committed the others were, her blank piece of paper looked increasingly sad. Inspired by the others, she decided to go the poster route. She was, after all, a go-big-or-go-home kind of girl. The letters she sketched where tall and sort of bubbly. Handwriting was not her strongest skill. The letters arranged to form a phrase she'd read in a book once: "Women's Rights are Human Rights." It was something she believed in her bones, and if this turn out meant anything, it was something they all believed in too.

Sean was sketching his next poster when a man approached him approached him and complimented his work. The man in question was Alaric Equinox, Head of Ravenclaw and professor of Astronomy. Sean recognized him from the color of his eyes which weren't very common.
"Thank you"
Once the man left Sean went back to making his third poster which was going to feature Myrtle Allen, a woman who became famous as the Mother of Modern Irish Cooking. She had started off by making a restaurant out of her living room and ended up being the first Irish woman to hold a Michelin Star. Sean thought about how she started her business from basically nothing and made into the huge success that it is today.
Sean started writing and drawing on the poster when a young girl with blonde hair and blue eyes came over to him. She complimented his drawing which he didn't find that good and asked who was Celina Barrett. Sean looked at the girl and smiled as best as he could, he wasn't the best at socializing and even less so when it was with a girl.
"Thank you, I don't think my drawing is that good but it's the thought that counts right ?"
He looked around him for a split second. "There are a lot more talented people around" This wasn't him being modest, if it would have been about his writing he would have been more confident but he was never the best drawer. He then picked up the poster he had previously made about Celine Barrett and handed it over the the young girl.
"She was the first woman to become a full-time firefighter and did a lot to help women be more accepted in that line of work"
He then started sketching another poster which would be about Avril Deverell who was the first woman barrister to be called to the bar in Ireland or the UK. She was also the first woman to ever appear before the Privy Council in London. Avril's work ethic had made history, something that Sean respected a lot and aspired to do. He started writing on the poster and drawing and once he was finished, started sketching the last poster.
The last poster would be about Dr Emily Winfred Dickson who probably had the most adversity on her way to success. She had been rejected by the medical school of Trinity College because of her gender so instead applied to the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland and would go on to become the first woman to hold a fellowship there. Sean wrote on the poster and drew decorations on it too.
Once the poster finished he looked at the pile 5 posters he had made and thought of the women he had made them about. They had all so much determination to succeed against all odds. They were pioneers for the women of today like so many others. Sean hoped that his posters would maybe inspire young girls to go after their dreams even if society says they can't. He got up and started putting up his posters.

She let out a small sigh, smiling in relief as a fellow Ravenclaw girl greeted and welcomed her. "Thanks a bunch... I'm Breana. O-oliveire." She said, doing a small wave towards the girl. Breana knew she's the first year prefect in her house, but she forgot her name. Ru... something. Still, it was nice to be greeted by a welcoming and somewhat familiar face.
After she placed her simple ink bottle on the table, her eyes perked up as she listened to Sir Equinox.“Please, you may use this as well. I brought the crate of them for everyone one to use. If you look here-“ “-You can even choose your own color. I am, however, happy to share the swirled silver black with you if you wish to use it.” Breana nodded with a bit too much enthusiasm. "Ah... T-thank you, Mist-- erm, Head-- er... Sir Equinox, sir." She stammered, leaning over to dip her quill on the metallic black and silver ink. She looked in awe as she saw how beautiful the ink was. Breana moved back to her place, opening up one of the books as she started her letter.
"Dear Mom," She started.
"Hope you get this letter soon ♥ It's Women's Day over in Hogwarts, and I wanna send this letter over to you for it! I'll also write to auntie soon," Breana stopped for a second and grabbed an extra sheet of letter paper just to make sure she won't forget. "but I'm borrowing some school books to look up what you did when you're a student here, and my borrow time for them is almost up, so... No time like the present!!!"
Breana laughed a bit to herself. She imagined her mother laughing with the letter as her father reads it out loud with his poor imitation of Breana's voice. She can't wait to get back home once the year is over. She looked over at the book she opened, and leafed through it to try to find any information of her mother. Soon enough, there she was. Breana gently caressed her tiny fingers across her mother's name, "Eugenia Everhart." Her mother's face didn't change much apart from maturity, and her red hair was still the same straight texture, except in the picture it's longer, and she was sporting twin french braids in it. Breana wondered, if she can be as notable as her mother. She hoped she'd have enough achievements in the future that she can look over proudly for herself someday.

International Women's Day
Unless jogging around the grounds, Peri's attire rarely strayed far from his uniform. The young pureblood enjoyed oversized sweaters as much as the next eleven-year-old, but the homeschooled lad had spent most of his life under the influence of his father, detached from others his age. He arrived at the errand dressed as Dralt Senior would have attended an informal meeting: in a crisp white shirt, buttoned grey vest, pressed black trousers, and a pair of glossy dark dress shoes. The smart addition of a blue tie added a dash of House pride. There was one standard which nearly never changed: he was always carrying books wherever he went.((Mentions Griseldis, Ruthie, and Alaric. Open to interactions.))
Today was no exception. In fact, Pericles had brought a book from the library, his personal notebook, and a binder from which he produced a single sheet of thick letter parchment. He had evidently heard tell of the event prior (as opposed to stumbling upon it) for he came well prepared. That trademark in-the-clouds smile lingered on his lips while he listened to the errand's introduction. Griseldis and Ruthie had already proven themselves plenty involved with the student body, often offering errands, doling out opportunities for involvement. Peri had been charmed by the prospect and did what he may to ready himself. What he had in mind called for a little more than writing a letter, but he was quite convinced his plans were sound and necessary. The fact that their Head of House Professor Equinox had provided supplies would make the matter of perfecting his project far easier.
Perusing the papers, his smile faded, eyes lidding with concentration. Peri took his time even in matters of color. He selected two from the batch. The first was a rich, solid, deep cobalt blue, matching well with his House colors. The second was a bright, brilliant, rich shade of crimson red. Seeming satisfied with his find, he collected one quill, a plain black inkwell, and a bit of glue before settling into a seat. The juggling act ended as each component was arranged for a tidy compact work space upon the table in front of him. Professor Alaric was a kind mentor, but as ever, Peri tended to avoid making eye-contact with teachers. He kept quietly to himself, going about his business with the proficiency of a Ministry man closed into a cubicle. Rectangular spectacles were pulled from the pocket of his vest, equipped, and with that the scrawling began. The first letter seemed to come easily enough to the boy. He scarcely stopped while he wrote, only pausing now and again to re-read what was already written, ensuring his verbiage was not redundant. Any prying eyes could have caught the large address at the very top: Dear Mom.
Upon completion, he held the letter up, re-reading it for a final time. His ghost of a grin returned, warm with thoughts of home, sentimental over all his mother had taught him. Lady Dralt was a brilliant divinator, though she had also taken the time to enrich Pericles' childhood with earthly things. She introduced him to herbology, to the tending of plants both magical and mundane, how to harvest all manner of components. She had shown him a thing or two about brewing potions, too, but didn't wish to instill any "bad habits" in him before he came to Hogwarts. She taught him that gardening was not a "girly" thing, and that hobbies had little to do with gender whatsoever. She taught him to be kind, curious, gentle, yet also tenacious, open-minded, and durable in the face of uncertainty. Cenedril was both benevolent and brilliant. Not to mention, she had been a Ravenclaw too. Thus with a bit of glue and gentle pressing around the still-drying ink, her letter was fastened to the cobalt sheet of paper, which he would later fold into a card proper.
The second letter would take a great deal more time, but not because Pericles was unsure of what to write. In fact, he had already written the letter once before. The trouble was that he had to translate what was written onto that thick parchment. Upon opening, the book was revealed to contain a sizable section on braille, which the first-year had been studying devotedly in his common room. First he had written his intended message, then- letter by letter- translated the entirety of it into dots sketched for braille. He turned his paper over, dried his quill, and began to methodically press the metal into the parchment from right to left, careful not to press so hard that the bumps broke through. It was a tedious process, and at this juncture his smile was gone altogether. Forehead furrowed, lips quirked into a concentrated frown, Pericles looked a little older while ever so carefully pushing one letter at a time into place. His strange silver eyes flickered from notebook to letter again and again.((Word Count: 817))
