Valentine's Tea
mentions @Ruka Tân, @Opeila Seilun & @Cormac McCarthy
Alan has no idea what was going on at this point. He had wanted to bring both Ruka and the other person, the girl that had also been sitting at their table earlier, away from here and to the safety of the Hospital Wing. But none of that was supposed to happen, when finally the professor decided it was time to swoop in and offer them to lead them out by herself. Not in a worried way or so it seemed, because after all she titled it their date, which in some sense confused Alan even more. Why would she pretend as if it was harmless or even joke that students of her seemed to be in trouble or hurt? Alan slightly shook his head.
When the professor then started to ship people together, Alan paled slightly. What? Was this what all of that had been about? Has this been the plan for the event all along? Who knew about this... Ruka? Alan was not sure about that as he glanced over to the boy, who was no accompanied out by the professor, the girl that had been attacking people and Opeila; the Slytherin that had been sitting with Ruka at the table. Alan watched them as they completely left and stepped out of the room, wondering whether he should leave as well. He failed to see a reason to stay and was way too worried about the other kid as that he could focus on what he was supposed to do now...
Alan looked around the room, trying to find the person the person the professor had paired him with. What had been the name again? @Cormac McCarthy? Alan was not too sure, but decided to at least give it a try. But time passed and while he curiously glanced around in the room, no one seemed to be looking for Alan and no one seemed to be looking for Alan either. Shaking his head with a sigh, he pushed a loose strand of hair behind his ear and began to walk towards the exit of the room, somehow relieved that this day might be over. He hoped Ruka was okay and that the foot from Opeila was not injured too badly either, but hopefully he could ask them that at a later point.

Valentine's Tea
Interaction with @Nico Shymane
Oh shit! He made her cry! Quinn's eyes widened when he realized what he had done. He was about to profusely apologize but before he could. Nico surprised him yet again with her extremely kind words. He was actually speechless for a change. His lips moved, but no audible words came out. He couldn't talk, heck he could barely think at this moment. The young Dhamphir had made the usually boisterous redhead mute. A slow rosy red blush crept quickly across his cheeks.
Her words were words he wished for so long to hear from just a single person. He never expected it to be Nico, but as she spoke he really listened. He looked at her and his heart fluttered. He felt funny, warm, and good. He was uncomfortable but it was the type that wasn't necessarily unpleasant. These were all strange feelings that he was unfamiliar with. But what he did know was that he was glad to have someone in his life like Nico.
Again he clasped his hands together looking down at them pursing his lips. He began fiddling with and rubbing his fingers together. Sighing he looked straight at Nico, gently taking the hankerchief from her grasp. He started to gingerly wipe the bloody tears from her cheeks. "Heh ah must be the worst friend. Ah made me best friend cry." He chuckled, and it was light hearted this time. "Ah guess when ye're as different as us you get used to taking it and keepin it bottled up." He elaborated sounding a bit sad still but also a bit happier. He appeared slightly more relaxed as he continued to wipe her tears.
He noticed her blushing much like she must have noticed his own. "It was selfish of me to think that ah was the only one who had gone through something similar. Ah truly hope ye can forgive me Nico. Your words mean more then ye know." He stopped and put the hankerchief down looking into her eyes.

»»————————- ♔ ————————-««Her vague address of what was common- what was deemed acceptable- in the Four Bloodlines' circle of allies felt heavy on her tongue, thick and wrong.
She was not supposed to feel this way about her noble heritage, about her vivid history and esteemed family line, but it seemed being surrounded by those so different from what she felt was supposedly 'normal' had affected her more than she initially believed. Yet Piérre did not seem silently repulsed or confused- or if he did, he did a good job of hiding it, certainly something to be proud of. It had taken her quite a long time as a young child learning how to reign in emotions, and she was still working on showing them in a delicate manner preferable to a good lady's duty. Quite the opposite, and Astrea was vaguely pleased with his respectful interest.
The boy was not like her. Not many were anymore. Some ignorant to the careful balance that her way of life offered would say it good, that the old ways were dying out. It is a new generation, a new time, so society should move along with it. Elena Jones certainly believed it to be so- Astrea still remembered reading over the fine print of her father's handwriting in comparison to the bluenett's scrawl, arguing over a matter that had been a fact of her life from the moment it was offered as if she was never in the picture. Perhaps she should have been hurt, back then. Still now. But Astrea was more bitter. Yes, arranged marriages were old-fashioned and sometimes hurt a lot to deal with- but she had been given choices, she had been repeatedly asked if this was what she wanted.
And was it? She wasn't sure. But she was sure that her life was perfectly content as it was before. At least she had a bond with her betrothed, a friendship that would one day bloom into an inevitable romance one day in the future- it was not a senseless pairing. She knew who she was to be married to, knew how he was, knew what he was. A best-case scenario, considering everything.
The conversation lulled comfortably, a pool of aloe vera calm that swept over the heir that seemed more a balm than anything compared to the pondering thoughts inside of her head, soothing the silent worry and internalized bitterness. It was a wonderfully still freezeframe of silence, a snapshot of scenery that gave Astrea the perfect opportunity to study her partner even more than she had already. A smile was on Piérre's face, a strangely contradicting buzzing contentedness overwash in green eyes sparked bright with awareness, and his entire form seemed to sway gently with the energy of the room past their conversation.
She was perfectly content to simply sit there in the admittedly comfortable neon armchair and make good conversation when Piérre suddenly departed from his seat and travelled around toward her carefully, his chair tucked nicely back where it was previously. Wide stormy eyes watched blankly as the boy took a careful courteous bow that seemed out of place dressed in such casual clothing, his hand stretched out purposely. "Would you care to dance?"
One eyebrow quirked up in surprise, a hum of genuine interest escaping her as she considered the request thoughtfully. The real question was if it was appropriate for her to engage in such a manner so abruptly in such an informal setting. ”I don’t really think you can celebrate Valentine’s Day without a dance... Doesn’t even have to be anything serious, just... you want to walk around a bit... in a waltz?”
It was not a formal request in the most technical of manners, yet still a polite one nonetheless. Tempting, tempting. It was always best to accept an offered dance if given in a good manner unless currently engaged or having already danced with the asker. One of the many things in the rulebooks. Look the best you can, act appropriately, and remember that a quick mind is valuable.
”A Tarantellegra, perhaps?” Piérre's eyes glittered with mirth, lips caught between white teeth as if the mere idea was enough to cause such enjoyment. This boy hadn't bad intentions, genuine and somewhat amusing was he. And what a sight Astrea was certain the joke would be, limbs flailing every which way without control- it made a slight smile grace her, the silliness of it.
Her expression softened and stood up, the hem of her dress cool and swishy against her legs and pushed the neon armchair carefully flush against the table before taking the offered hand delicately.
"It would be my pleasure."

Interacting with: @ Griseldis Edelhardt
Alan felt calm and reassured in the presence of Gris. As if all the worry in the world had disappeared as the pair sat face to face. Before he had even answered the question, Alan felt nervous sharing what he deemed was sensitive information. Thoughts in the back of his mind told him to lie about it, but the young lad couldn't stomach lying to his long time friend. Before delivering his answer, he imagined that it was just the two of them together imagining the lake, their usual spot feeling the confidence added with Gris reassurance that she won't laugh and respect him regardless he spoke. All that nervous anxiety we're locked away for now as Alan rambled to give his answer, once he finished the young lad let out a sigh.
From Gris reaction, as he spoke, Alan knew that she would giggle at some parts as it was entertaining to himself as he thought about dressing up in his mothers work uniform. Alan replied to the comment about his mum "Yeah she works the opposite job to Dad who is part of the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee, he's tasked for explaining why these accidents happen to the Muggles." He maintained a confident smile and kept eye contact with the Gryffindor at all times.
Alan's cheeks turned red slightly about his goals being approved. The boy spoke up "Well, it looks like a fun job, just fixing problems a-and I ap-appreciate the support Gris." Readjusting himself in his seat, assuming there was still tea left on the table from the previous incident he took the small teapot pouring the still warm liquid into both their mugs as he listened to Gris response.
Alan noddingly agreed to that notion of the question being difficult although appearing similar to the one Gris asked. He wasn't all too surprised by Gris response as most challenging problems tend to be overcome eventually. Alan chimed in about Harry Potter and the idea of becoming an Auror"Well, that's a thing I can see happening, you're usually so brave and admirable to your friends." Alan listened a little more until his best friend was finished "I mean Auror suits you, I can certainly picture you with a long trenchcoat, wand out ready to face any evildoers who come your way". Alan was pleasantly surprised how well thought out Gris would see herself being in the future, although not versed in the Martial Arts the boy had no doubt that Gris could achieve anything she wanted if she set her mind to it. Once Gris finished, Alan spoke up "That's amazing...if there is anything I can do I'll help you achieve that goal of being an Auror...who knows you've inspired me a little an Auror does sound like a fun job we can be a dynamic duo." The young lad imagined the two standing back to back, surrounded by death eaters ready to fight them with brave smiles on their faces

Valentine's Tea
@Victor Moore @Rafael D'Spacito

“A troll? Well, that makes one of us strong enough to take down an ogre.”
“Thank you! That’s very kind, and I think you’re quite handsome as well.” What? It was all good fun, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. She was only 11 years old after all, and luckily Cupid had yet to raise his first prickly arrow against her. Perhaps it was because of this detachment that she could afford to be as friendly and comfortable as she was on the amorous holiday.
She'd forgotten all about Professor Bercegeay's icebreaker questions until Victor crinkled open his paper. Jo craned her neck to look at the small words until she could make out the question.
"That sounds like a lot of fun, honestly. I kind of wish I had grown up with magic. It would have made Hogwarts a lot easier, especially class. I guess it would be too much to ask for more muggle classes alongside magic classes, but I kind of wish I didn't have to give up one for the other. Uh...my favorite memory is probably making origami. I know it's boring to a lot of people because it's just folding paper, but it's still my go-to when I need a break. My mom taught me how to fold cranes and foxes, and our house was just completely covered in little animals because I would make so many of them in kindergarten and bring them all back home."
Jo unfolded her own paper, and was met with the question:

The boy seemed to hesitate in the middle of delivering his name, like something was wrong with it or he couldn’t remember quite how it sounded. When it finally did come out, though, he wasn’t the only one hesitating. Perhaps he was afraid of something - something that could be revealed by even mentioning his name."I'm Victor... Moore."
There was also Rafa to deal with at the moment, which wouldn’t be too much of a problem. The Thunderbird was probably here for something other than spying on everyone else. Who knew? Maybe he even liked socializing. That was a thing some people did just because they felt like it, right? Absolute psychopaths, the lot of them.“Oh, it’s a troll! My eyes – they’re burning!”
“A troll? Well, that makes one of us strong enough to take down an ogre.”
“Careful,” she murmured, glancing around the hall warily. “Don’t want to offend any dhampirs. I’m only here for house points and tea, but I can tell by your gorgeous headband that you’re bursting with the spirit of romance this Valentine’s Day. Speaking of which, where’s your Ravenclaw Romeo?”“You know, for a while there, I didn’t think you were capable of facing the sunlight – what brings you to this lovely tea party?”
There was no more time for banter. Surprisingly, her newest acquaintance had stepped in to defend her. And with quite the flattering statement, too. Jo tried her best to hide the flush that bloomed into her cheeks at the unexpected compliment."I think you're plenty pretty."
“Thank you! That’s very kind, and I think you’re quite handsome as well.” What? It was all good fun, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day. She was only 11 years old after all, and luckily Cupid had yet to raise his first prickly arrow against her. She'd forgotten all about Professor Bercegeay's icebreaker questions until Victor crinkled open his paper. Jo craned her neck to look at the small words until she could make out the question.
WHAT'S ONE THING YOU DID AS A KID THAT YOU MISS MOST TODAY?
Victor was saying when the momentarily distracted Gryffindor finally brought her attention back to him."...my prep school,"
His features seemed to momentarily cloud over, as if a happy memory of childhood friends had been followed by a bittersweet recollection of their departure."I come from a long line of wizards on both sides. The local wizards like me were home-schooled by some of the local moms. Taught us the basics, reading, writing, arithmatic, geography... a bit of history. The stuff that we need to prepare us for Hogwarts."
Jo hesitated. Victor had given her a lot of information. He had trusted her, then. She ought to repay him by telling him a bit about herself, but something in the back of her mind kept reminding her that she wasn't here to make friends. A simple slip of the tongue could tell him too much about her childhood. Jo had secrets to keep, after all."A lot of the kids I grew up with went to other schools, some... well most actually continued to be home schooled. We had this one mom that hated teaching so she would bribe us with cookies to claim we practiced long division all day. Heh -- what about you?"
Jo unfolded her own paper, and was met with the question:
"Oh..." she giggled nervously. "I guess Professor Bercegeay really likes sentimental stuff. Well, I'm not sure about the best year, but so much of my life has changed this year that I feel like I'm still trying to process everything. It’s crazy to think that less than a year ago I probably would have called anyone who told me wizards were real crazy. What about you? I guess it’s a lot different when you’re already used to wizarding stuff."WHAT'S BEEN THE MOST SIGNIFICANT OR BEST YEAR OF YOUR LIFE SO FAR?
"Out here, the wild ones are taming the fear within me.
Scared to call them my friends and be broken again; Is this hope just a mystical dream?"

Valentine's Tea
The most significant, at least for Victor would have been last year. The year that he witnessed something that he never should have seen and served as a witness against a man he considered a hero. Wracked with guilt ever since, his life had been turned upside down. Anxiety plagued his waking hours and he often had nightmares. He knew that he would be reviled by the student body if they knew, in fact he did not care greatly for himself.
Of course, that was an answer he could not share. Not really. Since then, there have not been a number of significant moments. He was isolated for the most part, his own fear ensuring the self-induced exile. His only significant moment besides would have been his friends, well the few he had. "The friends I have made," he answered after a moment's contemplation. "My two best friends go here and we have been..." he searched for the right word "inseparable ever since." The event was likely what made them significant, they were the only ones that he had. He depended wholly on Vladimir. "Vlad and Mary. The smart one and the..." how to describe her? "Hyper one." Yeah, that fit her, hyper.
He was paying attention to what Jo said about herself and about what she considered significant. "Muggle-born?" He inquired after a brief pause. That was the right word he hoped. There were a lot of muggle borns in the school, a lot more than there were in his father's day. Not that there was anything wrong with that, but it made things messy. "I'm sorry," he added. It had to be difficult to come from a muggle family, and there was more to it than culture shock. There was a very large part of her life that she would never be able to share with her family, not really at the very least.
"On the plus, you've acclimated well," he smiled awkwardly. It was not a lie, she seemed comfortable, if not at easy here in this room full of adolescent wizards. "Better than some wizards."

"An outside source, eh?" She gave a soft giggle. She had caught on to Atlas's periodic glancing towards Ethen. She understood, as the two seemed almost like brothers and sisters. Of course Atlas was going to watch over her best friend. It only made sense. The Hufflepuff gave her a soft smile, eyes showing curiosity.
"Let's see... probably Mardi Gras. The cake they have then is really amazing. That one’s more my mom’s tradition, though. My dad generally has work off, so we create a mini-competition of sorts. Dancing, singing, best cooking, whatever else." She laughed softly, reminding herself of when they had first sprung this new tradition on her. She had been rather confused and they had to remind her to get rid of structure. To just have a good time.
“Another tradition we have is on Chandeleur. It’s not really our own tradition, per say?I believe it’s rather common.” She wasn’t sure. All her friends had had the same tradition, although it could just be because they lived in France. “We’d make crepes. An important part of making crepes is flipping them. So, we’d put one hand behind our back while we did so, trying to flip it perfectly back into the pan. It was good fun, but it also meant that a lot of crepes landed on the floor.” She giggled lightly.
“Anyway...sorry for that little rambling. What about you?” Her head tilted slightly, blue eyes still wide with wonder.
Sorry for the wait!

Lamik wasnt somebody who usually stepped on peoples feet just for the fun of it. In fact, he found the idea pretty stupid, so it was probably a good thing that he wasnt aware of Dans fears. Regardleess of what Dan thought of him though, Lamik was genuknely curious as to what he had to say. Cooking and baking wasnt something that ever interested the boy- food as a whole was an iffy subject. That didn't take away from his understanding of the reasons that other people enjoyed it. His grandmother had once told him that baking was like painting, except a lot more sticky.
Even though there was a specific question that crossed Lamiks mind, the boy figured that it would be better if he answered Dans question first, despite it's oddness. "You mean..." Lamik started, slightly confused. "Like a year book for when we graduate? Do they even do that in Hogwarts?" The seeker couldnt help but grin at the thought of such a strange, magical, mystical school having normal boring yearbooks with quotes and photos. Even if the images were enchanted, it was still such a muggle thing to do. "Well, my yearbook quote would probably be something along the lines of: No, I really dont want a quote under my picture." After mentally patting himself on the back for that little joke, and waiting a bit for a reaction, Lamik cleared his throat. "So... who vanished?"

Jo giggled in spite of herself at the not-so-flattering description of Victor's friend Mary, who she surmised must be Marion Davenport. If the three were indeed inseparable, it would make sense that they should all be together when they...
"That sounds great. Everything is better with friends at your side! You'll have to introduce me to them sometime!"
She really meant that when she said it, but however would she find a way to orchestrate an actual meeting? She really ought not to talk about the trial, just in case it would scare him off or make him suspicious. The boy seemed nice enough, but you never could tell.
"Actually, a few of my friends and I were thinking about having a small picnic by the lake...next week on Tuesday just before dinner. We'd love if you guys could join us!"
There was no picnic, of course. Not yet. But there would certainly be one if she could help it! This was too good of an opportunity to pass up, and she wouldn't need too many people - actually, she didn't want too many people there. A quick owl would probably suffice for Rafa, and she's probably be able to hunt down Evelynn tomorrow during breakfast, or maybe in the dorm. Who else should she call? That silver-haired Ravenclaw boy would work. The one who had earned her respect by pointing out the hidden message in the letter - Pericles, was it? He might prove a bit more difficult to track down, but it wasn't like she had set the date for tomorrow. She could get to him in time; she was sure of it. And if someone couldn't make it, so what? More food for her and Victor, and hopefully his friends. "Don't worry." She flashed him a smile more to assuage her own fears of a refusal than Victor's. "We don't do the whole Gryffindor-Slytherin thing."
He had also asked her something - something that made her deeply uncomfortable. Something that could get a person hurt just by its reveal. Something that made her smile falter for a second as she wondered if the boy had any ulterior motives for asking her such a question. Perhaps it was only folly. She had grown paranoid and distrusting from spending too much time brooding over the case in her dorm, as Rafa had so ungraciously pointed out towards the beginning of the party.
"I...I don't know." She stammered, too embarrassed to pay attention to the small apology he had tacked onto the question. "Muggle-raised, yes. But...um...I was adopted, and we aren't sure if my birth mom was a witch or not." She smiled once more with downcast eyes, staring at or seemingly into her black jeans as she toyed aimlessly with the plastic choker around her neck. All she could do at the moment was pray that her blood ambiguity wouldn't be counted as a negative, proving an insurmountable obstacle to their friendship. She'd heard of Slytherins picking on or avoiding muggle-borns and half-bloods. While she had yet to go through such a heartbreaking encounter as of yet, the girl wouldn't be wrong to suspect a witness of that terrifying case to have a fair amount of blood-bias. She hoped she was being too harsh on the Slytherin, and Victor would give her the benefit of the doubt.

Huh. Maybe, despite her initial reservations about "befriending" who might very well be an enemy of the Gryffindor hero, ("Stay neutral at all times," Lady Aithne would say) maybe their acquaintance could bloom into a real friendship, no thanks to the Pepto-Bismol decorations, of course."Thanks."

Interacting with @Elsian Cox
Ginny listened with such interest to Elsian's answer. At first, the boy said that he would like to invent and patent a time machine, but soon afterward he himself scrapped the idea, telling her he was only kidding. (Or was he? Ginevra asked herself.)
Sipping on her sugared tea, the Hufflepuff now attentively listened to the Gryffindor's new idea: a thought projector. Elsian narrated that the invention would be a machine that could turn any thoughts, any idea for a book or a film, into something real.
"Obviously it won't happen," laughed the boy, before asking Ginny what she would like to patent.
But Ginny liked his idea, and thought that perhaps someday, somehow, it could happen; so she decided to tell him this before answering his question.
"Maybe it will someday," she said, "especially for the book part. Or perhaps even animated films. Although... it's rather dangerous, isn't it?" An uncomfortable picture popped into the blonde's mind. If the machine could project whatever someone thinks into something real, does that not mean it could read people's mind just like a Legilimens? And then, who can guarantee that authorities won't develop it to violate others' privacy by snooping into their thoughts?
Ginny shook her head. I'm being absurd, she told herself. Why should I think about something heavy and unpleasant in this nice conversation?
"Never mind my last remark," she spoke out to Elsian, giving him a small smile as she was still somehow disturbed by her own dark imagination. "Either ways... to answer your question... well, I assume you know about Muggle car? This thing has a drawback, being hard on the surface - so whenever it crash into something, it'll definitely be damaged. If I could patent anything, I think it'd be a rubbery car."
Feeling a little embarrassed about her own idea - which she assumed her listener might consider silly - Ginny blushed. Trying to get it out of the Gryffindor's mind, she quickly invites him, "Well! I think evening has fallen... Shall we take a walk under the moon? I think it'll be nice to get some fresh air outside."
