A Charming First Lesson | PV
Wes just shrugged at her talking about how he could play football professionally. It probably came down to the fact that he did not really want to, deep down at least. “I guess it’s just not something I’m extremely passionate about. I haven’t even thought about it much since I’ve been here.” This was a little odd for him, and in a quick moment of retrospection it was true. Wes had not thought about the scores, matches, transfers and so on for what usually took quite a bit of his time.
Then he could have sworn she called him a kid, even if it was quietly. This caused him to tilt his head and arch his brows, though they were accompanied by the smirk that always seemed to be on his face. He leaned forward in his chair and looked at her. Wes was taller than most boys in their year, taller than some of the second even. “Who you calling a kid?” He asked her, still joking.
About that time the homework was finally given and Wes turned to put his stuff away for the second time. “So what does your brother play anyway? Which position I mean. Seeker, Chaser, Beater, Keeper?” Despite Wes earlier saying he did not know much about the sport, he sure could name off the positions easily.
And for all the banter, despite the teased stare down of her piercing green eyes, when she said she just might be scheming, Wes exhaled a small laugh. “You can’t hide behind the cute girl look. My sisters do the same thing, but I don’t turn my back on them.” He then shrugged at her. “Even then, you’re still quite nice.”
It was not much longer that the class was dismissed.
