Maddy blinked at Azrael for a long second.
Of all the reactions she’d expected like screaming, yelling maybe something here and there, a simple “Its alright” was not on the list.
She forced herself to stand up straighter and let go of her guilt, they don’t seem like they wanna hex me or something.
When Azrael added that she should have waited until Louis was distracted, Maddy’s eyes widened.
“See? SEE? This is genius advice! Louis deserves at least five distraction-based pranks after today.” She pointed towards the end of the corridor where Louis had disappeared off to, “Next time, we’re striking when he least expects it. Like… when he’s stuffing his face at breakfast. Or tying his shoes. Or…..or when he’s with his girlfriend.” She giggled and nudged Lily who was by her side.
The advices she got repeated in her head and Lily looked at her with….the look, “Okay, okay, fiiine,” she muttered, “Maybe the corridor wasn’t the smartest idea. But in my defense, I thought the universe loved me enough to let one tiny prank go right."
Karime smiled at her, and Maddy relaxed a little. Thanks lots guys. That’s when Lily announced treats, her head suddenly snapped to her best friend, “Wait— treats? Lils, we did NOT discuss treats, I swear if you’re volunteering my stash of Fizzing Whizbees without permission…..”
Then she groaned because the others were looking at her and she absolutely refused to seem uncool right now.
“Ahem. Yes. Treats. What she said.” She cleared her throat. “And uh… sorry again. Properly. Promise I wasn’t trying to ruin your day.”
How many times has she said sorry again?
She was thinking of that when Leo excused himself, “Alright Goodbye Leo! See you in potions I guess?”
She looked at the other, “Seems like its us now…..lets walk to the great hall together?”

Louis deserves at least five distraction-based pranks after today.” Maddy pointed to the end of the corridor where Louis had disappeared off to, nearly hitting Lily right in her chest. “Next time, we’re striking when he least expects it. Like… when he’s stuffing his face at breakfast. Or tying his shoes. Or…..or when he’s with his girlfriend.” She giggled and nudged Lily who was by her side.
Lily looked at her, with her signature look, which screamed, "You are in trouble, young lady." She had to use it a lot, since Maddy had planned to make it her everyday routine to fall in trouble or do something mischievous.
“Okay, okay, fiiine,” Maddy muttered, probably knowing that she was in trouble, “Maybe the corridor wasn’t the smartest idea. But in my defense, I thought the universe loved me enough to let one tiny prank go right."
"It was NOT a tiny prank.", Lily thought. Then, she started offering sweets, it was, after all, their mistake, and they had to be polite, and offer something......
“Wait— treats? Lils, we did NOT discuss treats, I swear if you’re volunteering my stash of Fizzing Whizbees without permission…..”, Maddy nudged her urgently and muttered. Lily glared at her again, speaking back. "This is your punishment, gurl. That wasn't actually my original plan, but thanks for giving me that idea.."
“Ahem. Yes. Treats. What she said.” Maddy cleared her throat. “And uh… sorry again. Properly. Promise I wasn’t trying to ruin your day.” Lily laughed at this. Maddy and not prank? She actually had to make sure Maddy wouldn't set off bombs anywhere, and everywhere.
Then, Leo mentioned that he had to be somewhere else. "Alright Leo! Bye. And once again, sorry for the commotion....."
Then Maddy said, “Seems like its us now…..lets walk to the great hall together?”
"Sure, let's go!", Lily exclaimed. This was her new start, with new friends.

_________________________§_____________________ReducioAzrael is NOT a dhampir or a vampire, he's just weird, his skin is sensitive to the sun because he and his family are loners and prefer going out sometimes at night only because it usually means that not a lot of people are around, which has caused his skin to not get used to the sun properly and thus now it gets red and irritated when he's out during the day if he doesn't have any protection from the sun- yes, he's considered unsettling and eerie but it's not his aura, it's his eyes, they're big and owl like and he has a bad habit of accidentally spacing out and staring at people intently when they talk, so people consider him eerie, this was placed here to prevent misunderstandings.
Azrael simply nodded to the suggestion, he didn't seem to mind at all- after all, he doesn't have anything better to do than to do and it's not like he has any hobbies to get to.
And even then, it wouldn't kill him to socialize.. at least for once in his life- and he's getting hungry, so walking to get food together seems like a good idea...
Hopefully they have garlic bread, it's his favorite type of bread...and when it has any sauce to dip it into? Pure heaven for him, he misses the bread his mother used to make for him... they've all always loved garlic bread with sauce, they had a little tradition of making it every Friday and eating it together in complete darkness and silence in their dining table.
Sounds weird (it is), but hey! At least he enjoys it...
Hopefully, when he goes home for the holidays he'll get to do it again, but for now- he'll just follow the new people he just met to go eat, it sounds pretty tempting to go after all.
He wouldn't miss getting food if there's a chance he'll get to eat in peace without someone chewing in his ear...and it doesn't seem like they'd do that- or at least that's what he hopes, just yesterday he had someone loudly chew next to him and proceed to laugh obnoxiously and spit food everywhere.
It was the first time Azrael felt anything close to irritation...but it left in less than a second, he'll probably feel it again for the second time when he's 90 and getting kids off his lawn.
Until then, he'll just remain calm- like always.
