Helping a 1st year

I walked through the corridor, dodging all of the people running around, chatting with their friends, or casting spells at each other. I was sure that the corridors hadn't been so busy last year, when I was a first year - maybe the new first years were a lot crazier, or maybe we were just extremely calm.
Stressfully, a spell was cast right next to me, and I only just got out of the way in time, and I made up my mind to always look out in case that happened again.
I decided to stop next to a wall, for people to pass, so that I didn't get run over.
I loved round, and saw a quite short girl with long red wavy hair, looking around a lot, looking extremely lost. Deciding to help her, I walked over to her, trying not to get run over by the herds of other people.
"Hi!" I said when I got over to her, "Are you lost? If you are, then I could help you get to where you need to be. I got lost a lot last year, so I know how it feels." I looked around, to see if anyone else was about to send a spell over towards me.

Taylor smiled. That was rare. Usually, she was the one making the first step towards people. But she appreciated it not being the case.
She looked over the other girl. A second year, she supposed. She must know so much, maybe she could answer Taylor's hundreds of questions. Or at least some of them. Are the classes as awesome as they seem ? Do we get more work as first years ? Are there any extracurriculum she could enroll into ? More classes, sports ?
"Yeah, hi, I'm Taylor. I'm a bit lost, you're right. I'm looking for the potions classroom. I can't wait to have this class it seems so intricate, so methodical, so incredible !"
She took a deep breath. The redhead had to calm down. She didn't want to scare off that girl. She looked at her for a few seconds. The brunette was a bit taller than her, but Taylor was quite short for her age, so that wasn't weird. She seemed nice, with her long hair down.
Ready to move, Taylor put her hair in a ponytail. A few loose curls that she had failed to tame were coming out of it and going in her face. She pushed them away with a breath then smiled.
"What's your name ? And, uh...could you help me ?"

If Taylor was looking for the potions room, she was, indeed, extremely lost, being on the second floor instead of the dungeons.
"The potions classroom is downstairs. Three flights of stairs."
I was happy that she liked the idea of potions, as I'd always found it extremely interesting, however, I thought it might be necessary to warn her.
"Potions is incredible. However, it is extremely hard, and it takes a few lessons to find out whether you are good at it or not. If you are, it's amazing. If you aren't, going to potions lessons is torture in it's cruellest form."
After a few seconds, while Taylor looked at me, I held my breath a little bit hoping she wouldn't think I was extremely weird. However, thankfully, she then pulled her hair into a ponytail, and asked me what my name was.
"I'm Mirada." I paused a little bit, "It's like 'Miranda', just without the 'n'."
When she then asked me if I would help her, I smiled, and said,
"Of course. It would be mean of me just to come over here, ask if you were lost, then just walk away again. If you want, I can walk you down towards Potions, during this breaktime bit of the day. Then, I've got Defence against the Dark Arts next, so I can run back up the stairs to get there."
I slung my bag more securely onto my shoulder.
"On the way, if you would like, you can ask me any questions you have."
