Skylar looked at Rose as she got overwhelmed by her words. She knew exactly how it felt since the girl once made her eyes tearing up too.

She offered her napkin to Rose as she gently smiled to cheer her friend up.

“At first, I’m not the type of person who cares about the stars or is interested in Astronomy, staying inactive observing the sky.” She glanced faraway as she added. “But, after I had spent time with you that night, it made me realize something.”

Skylar gave a little bit of giggle and looked toward Rose.

“I always say I love nature, but I never really appreciate it. I only watched the ground below and played with dirt, but there was something more beautiful to see.”

Skylar went back to her memories. It seemed clear as it was yesterday when she looked up to the night sky for so long. The world looked so much bigger than ever, and the star was like the candlelight that you can see from afar.

She was happy after hearing Rose confirm to her that, in winter, we could actually do stargazing.

“That’s wonderful! I’ll find a day that we can have our free time together. Maybe after the holiday, I guess.”

Rose was fighting not to let some tears falling down her cheeks. Thankfully Skylar offered her a napkin she thanked her friend as she took it.

"I'm sorry." she apologised as she chuckled.

"I usually don't really tear up in front of people." she added.

When Skylar explained Rose her reason behind wanting to stargaze with her Rose smiled and felt warmth in her heart. Maybe she was making Skylar a bit happier. If it were the truth she was glad to have this influence on her friend.

Then Skylar paused and looked as if she were in deep thoughts. Maybe she was recalling some memories she had about stargazing. Rose was looking tenderly at her friend as she was also thinking of her time stargazing with her brother. They were different yet similar to Rose. Maybe that was explaining why they were getting along well.

Skylar's proposal made popped up an idea into Rose's mind.

"Skylar, would you then teaching me about Herbology, nature?" she asked.

"Earlier when I saw you I was truly impressed and I could say you really knew what you were doing. Although I'm quite good in other subjects, I feel like I struggle more with Herbology. Not that I don't like it, because I do like nature plants, especially flowers, but I have never interested myself more to it than I needed it." she paused thinking.

"And I could see how passionate you're about it. As you want to stargaze with me I would like to learn more about plants and nature with you. Not because you proposed me to stargaze but because I want to." another pause.

"I think I would have asked you at some points." she admitted with a chuckle.

Rose was being honest with Skylar. She also wanted to get knowing her more and she was thinking it was probably the best way to.

Skylar shook from Rose's words. Now, she was also overwhelmed.

The phase itself was so deep, and it made her even more emotional after hearing Rose want it because she wanted to, not because she owed her or she thought she had to return a favor for her.

Skylar let out her sigh, and her eyes watery up as she smiled. She thought Rose know it wasn’t because she was sad, but it was because she was happy.

“Now, we’re both crying. Great!” She said it while she whipped out her tear and let loose her giggle.

“I’ll help you in Herbology. I promised.” She looked at Rose with serious eyes, showing her commitment. She then looked down at her hand, drawn in her thoughts before moving her fingers.

“Is it like this? The way Muggles did when they made a promise.”

She offered her pinky finger to her friend. Skylar smiled from her eye to her ear, shaking her hand with Rose. Then, she glanced somewhere as she added, “But, however, even you didn’t ask me, I was going to help you anyway.”

She looked at the girl with her genuine eyes that shone brighter than ever.

“Because you’re my friend… My best…friend”

It was so clear to Skylar now that her bond with Rose was strong enough to call it like that. Even though she just met the girl a few times, but her trust in Rose was stronger than anyone she had currently met at Hogwarts. She just hoped that the girl was thinking the same.

After she spoke Rose noticed how Skylar was shaken from her words and even started tearing up as well. Now they were both crying. Rose chuckled.

"You didn't expect me to cry alone, did you?" she teased Skylar.

"And thank you even if I know you would have helped me I still thank you for it." said Rose after Skylar promised her she was going to help her.

Then Skylar raised up her hand to offer her pinky finger to Rose whose eyes started to tear up again as she was moved by Skylar's commitment. She took Skylar's pinky finger with hers before joining her thumb to Skylar's thumb making a reversed heart shape with both of their hands.

"I do too promise to stargaze with you whenever you want to." said Rose looking into Skylar's eyes as she flashed a smile tears running down her cheeks.

Rose was not going to stop crying any soon when Skylar told her she was her best friend. However Rose wiped off her tears to look more decent before saying.

"Of course." she couldn't believe how quickly they had created such a strong bond but she was glad about it and Rose knew she could count on Skylar the same way Skylar could count on her. The trust between them was strong enough despite not having known each other for long.

From afar the scene might have seemed curiously odd from their quick emotions' change and one might be wondered why they were crying but laughing at the same time. Obviously it wasn't out of sadness. Not at all. It was just two young girls weaving a friendship stronger than before in a way they wouldn't have imagined.
