Letters to Home
Dear Mum,
I just have to say, I didn't expect this school year to feel so long. When I told you that I was going to Hogwarts and that I would see you soon, I did not think that I would feel so homesick simply writing this letter. Instead of the months it has been, it feels as if years and years have passed. I wish that I could send a hug to you through this letter, but I really don't think that is how letters work. I hope that everything is going well at home, that you and Dad are doing great, and that you guys don't miss me too much. I promise, I will see you soon, I'm pretty sure that this place gives us a winter break of sorts. I can't wait for Christmas, and to see you both again. So much has happened this year, and I can't wait to tell you all about it once I'm home. For right now, since I don't have a lot of time (I'm writing this letter in a free period when I probably should be studying), I guess I just have to settle for telling you that I've made plenty of new friends, had a lot of fun, and learned so many new things. This world is so interesting, but I am loving every second that I spend in it. My whole life, I thought that magic was not real, but now, here I am. Learning it in a true school that is teaching me how to use it for good. I think that you would be proud of me if you could see me in class, I'm trying so very hard to come out of my shell, and I have. This school is so much better than Muggle school (a Muggle is a non-magical person, like a regular person) was, and I'm much more challenged in these lessons, which I absolutely love. Well, I should probably get going to class, but I just wanted to say that I love you, and I can't wait to see you soon!

Dear Dad,
It's been a while! I know you told me to write, and I'm so sorry that I haven't yet, I've been so busy between classes and new friends and, well, just so much has been happening to me! I can't wait to see you when I'm home and get to tell you all about it. I'm pretty sure that Hogwarts(the school that I'm at, in case you forgot the name which I know you sometimes do) gives us, the students, a winter break of sorts, so we can go back home and see our family, and spend Christmas with them if we choose. I know you always joked about turning my room into the 'cardio room' for your workouts when I go to college, but I'm not at any universities yet, so I hope you left it the same! I'm really looking forward to seeing the both of you, and my bed. Getting a good night's sleep sounds really good, after all of the early wakeups I've had to do to get ready for class. You know me, and how I almost never do my homework at home, right? Well, I actually have to now. They don't give you time during class, really, with all of the learning that we've been doing. I really enjoy it, though, getting challenged more in class and getting to learn about things that truly interest me. I'm looking into getting a pet soon, which I probably won't do for a while, but I've been thinking about what I want. A Crup? Or maybe an Owl? I don't really know, but if you see me come home with something a couple of breaks from now, don't be surprised! Now, I do have to go soon, because I'm writing this pretty late at night, and I should probably go to sleep so I'm not a zombie in the morning. Classes aren't too early, but I'm not exactly sleeping in either, because everybody always wants to get to breakfast early, before all of the good food is gone. Well, I hope that you have the best holiday season, and I can't wait to see both you and Mum for Christmas soon!

Dear Murphy,
Okay, I'm just going to be straight up with you, but I don't even really know why I'm writing you a letter. I mean, you're a dog, for goodness sakes! But, despite that, I do miss you too, and even though I doubt you'd feel upset about it, I would feel bad for you if I sent both Mum and Dad letters and you didn't even get one, so here it is. I hope that you're doing great at home and that you're not too lonely. Please, please don't pester them too much like you used to do to me, I doubt that they'd really enjoy getting dog hair all over them from when you ask to be pet. But, regardless, I hope that you're getting a bunch of treats, and if not, tell them that I say you deserve them. Wait, scratch that, you're a dog, you can't tell them that you should get treats. Fine, then, I will, when I get home. Gosh, I wish you could speak. I mean, wouldn't that be so cool? If I were to walk in the door and you said hi to me? Impossible, I know, but that would be the coolest thing ever. I wonder if there's a transfiguration for that...nah, I'm just kidding, I would never test that out on you. I don't trust myself with complex magic quite yet, because I am still pretty new to this whole witchcraft thing. But, anyways, I just got super off track, I hope that you're doing great too! Even if you can't read this, I hope that you know I love you. Sending belly rubs from here!
