Christmas Cards, 2025
Forward dated to December 25th, 2025 ~Canary Islands, Spain
Dear Zeph,
Happy Christmas! I hope you and your sister are having a lovely Holiday. Tell your cows hi for me! My parents decided to surprise me with a vacation to the Canary Islands! The beaches here are lovely and warm. I had to pull my swimsuit out of storage to use it, it was dusty in the back of my closet. I'm already sending you this card, but I'll definitely bring you back a seashell, or maybe find a wizard treat, like Spanish jelly beans, or some tea! Who knows. I've only been here a couple days, but I love it. All of the customs are so interesting.
Is it snowing gobs in Wales? Or does it snow at all? I tried to convince my parents we should go there for holiday instead, they were sharply against the idea of it. Apparently my father holidayed there and hated the rainy weather. And there was something about him being scared of the dragon flag? But he's muggle so I hardly see how that's relevant...
Those beans we bought from that merchant on the train taste horrible! I think they must've been all bad beans, because there's no way someone would willingly eat a snow bean with bits of gravel in it. I had them on the train ride with my parents, and now my jaw aches! I'm going to be very very weary of that silly merchant from now on. I should've known he was up to no good, having a hook and an eye patch... what a suspicious fellow.
Is your family doing anything special? I can just picture you sitting in your bedroom staring at the walls, saying "Oh Jrue, I'm so bored without you to talk to. Whatever will I do until break ends???" (read that aloud in your most annoying voice, because that's how I pictured it.)
I'm so grateful to be called your friend, and can't wait to see you after break. Have a lovely holiday!
Your dearest friend,
Dearest Lottie,
Happy Christmas, my dear! I hope all of your merry wishes come true. I do entrust, you don't miss me too much, right? I promise I'll be back from break in a few days. I'm not going to transfer to Castlebruxo anytime soon (although I love the vibe of this place! So vibrant and flavourful...). The flowers here are so fragrant! I'll have to pick one for you and charm it to stay upright and alive. You'll think it's the prettiest thing ever, I'm sure.
How is your kitty? Did you buy her a tiny Christmas hat? Oh dear, I have to make one for you then! Perhaps I can bring one back, and Nyx and Skipy can match! Wouldn't that be so Darling? Or perhaps a treat for them to share. We can have another picnic out in the grass, and the kittys can snack this time! We MUST make sure this event happens, love!
It's such a shame it's so sunny here. I have to hide under shady trees and umbrellas most of the time. But the water is so charming to stand in! Even if it's for but a moment. Oh! I forgot to tell you! When we get back, my dad is meeting one of his friends in Cambridge. If you haven't returned to Hogwarts by then, I'll definitely stop by and bring you your Christmas gift then. You're going to love it! I won't tell you what it is...
...Okay I will! It's two muggle books my father gave me for Christmas last year. He didn't know they were ones I had already read... I think you'll love them! I've annotated them and written little notes in the margins. They are the most splendid stories!
Okay, okay, I won't spoil anymore. I can't wait to see you after break ends, and am so grateful to be in the same school as you! You're so charming and clever.
Your pal,
Dear Mr. Holloway,
I sincerely write this letter to you to inform you of my- just kidding! This isn't any fancy formal letter. It's me, JrueI just wanted to write you and tell you all about my break! My parents surprised me with a trip to the Canary islands. I saw this HUGE fish in the water, and turned to my mom to tell her about it, and she was gone! When I looked back into the water, the fish had disappeared, and my parents were calling after me from far away. A local witch, who was super duper old, told me in Spanish that it was "La dama del Mar", or the Dame of the Sea.
I think it must've been an old ancient sea dragon, or magical creature. Dad says it was probably just a really, really old fish... (I think he just didn't have coffee that morning... or it's because he's a muggle...)
They have really awesome umbrellas here, just like yours! They charm you to have a cold wind blowing on you the entire duration of use. Plus, they're great for me and my mom to use so we don't crisp up!
How is London? I hope it doesn't miss me too much. I love the chill of the snowflakes when they hit your nose. This is one of the first years I haven't been to my grandparents for Christmas. I can smell the Mistletoe just thinking about it! You've got to tell me all of the fun and interesting things you do tucked away in your kooky mystery mansion. Do you decorate a tree? Or nothing at all?
I'll try and bring you these yummy potatoes they have, called Papas Arrugadas. They're just boiled potatoes with a yummy sour and spicy salsa on them! I think you'd like them loads.
I can't wait to see you until I get back! You're such a lovely and sweet gentlemanHappy Christmas, Ravenclaw! (Just kidding, I know you're in Gryffindor xoxo)
