a ‘bright’ young girl open

Snow walked out to the courtyard, parchment in one hand, quill in the other. It was very calming out here. As much as she wanted to talk to her brother, she wasn’t going to write her letter out here. Instead, she would practice her drawing skills. It would seem very dull and boring ya most, but Snow just didn’t have much friends to talk to and meet up with.
She drew the snow on the ground. She immediately wished she had bothered to learn to use a ‘pencil’. She might have if it wasn’t for her irrational fear of getting lead poisoning, as Muggles called it.
Then she turned out to the open, and started drawing what she saw. Her hand was not steady, and it looked like rubbish to her. She crumpled it up and took out a bit more parchment.
Might as well practice writing, she thought, feeling like a baby.
She wrote a wobbly A before giving up. She did not want to waste parchment, so she just drew over it.
I just don’t get it. Who would people call me a ‘bright young girl’? I’m really not. she thought. She looked up from her drawing.
She looked at her paper and started writing again.
this world
a mess of jumbled thoughts and letters
that I cannot understand
even if I tried
so I draw
my world
of letters
and thoughts

Snow stared at it, then smiled. She had written a poem! She had never written so much as a word before giving up, even in class. It may not be legible, but it was still a poem.
She covered her paper as she saw someone approaching. “What?” she asked.
She was not going to show her work to the world. Not yet, at least.

Sorry, I don’t speak dimwit.

Shae had been wandering the courtyard, lost in her own thoughts. She saw someone sitting and writing. She figured that the girl had wanted privacy, and tried to ignore her. She continued on, returning to the depth of her mind and losing herself in her thoughts. Eventually, her thoughts went to the girl sitting and writing and Shae started wandering back in her direction. She didn't know why and she had no real reason to. Curiosity was going to get the best of her this time. And Shae decided she'd let it. As she made her way toward the girl, she became hesitant, Maybe I shouldn't. She thought to herself. But it was too late.
"What?" She heard the girl ask, covering her paper. Shae could tell the girl didn't want anyone seeing her work.
Shae stopped. "Oh, I'm sorry. I was just wandering. I saw you and I just didn't know if you wanted company or not and I probably shouldn't have come up to you, but curiosity." She shrugged. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bother you. I'm not here to see what you're working on or anything." Shae lifted her book. "I have a book. If you did want company, I could just sit and read while you work on whatever." She tried smiling at the girl, hoping she'd be open to a little bit of company. Shae could use friends.

Jorah ran through the courtyard. It was empty except for two girls, a Gryffindor and Ravenclaw by the color of their clothing. He didn't have time to worry about them. That Slytherin girl was on the hunt and he needed to hide. They were playing a game of hide and seek and Jorah was determined not to be found. He grabbed a fallen branch and used it to cover the footprints he had made in the snow. He walked himself backwards into one the corners of the courtyard, brushing away any trace that he had walked through the snow.

Once in position, he got to work. The stone pillars in his corner would conceal his backside, but he needed to hide his front. Jorah began the construction of a snowman. If anyone came looking for him in the courtyard, they would see the snowman, but they wouldn't see him hiding behind it unless they took their time to walk over. Jorah quickly gathered heaps of snow around him. He formed them into nice balls wide and tall enough to cover himself. Now the finishing touches. He shoved a couple twigs in for arms and a few pebbles in the head to form a smiley face. With no time to waste, he shimmied behind his creation and hunched down into his corner. He hoped the two girls would just continue their conversation and let him be. He didn't want to draw any attention to himself.

@Jorah Moussa
Kara had found Fyriel Starlingwood and when she had wanted to return her to Jorah, he was gone. So, she had guessed he decided to try and stay away from her seeking fangs. She had laughed to herself and then left for the grounds again.
She was in the courtyard with a Gryffindor and a Ravenclaw talking to each other, but she didn't have time to chat. She had to find Jorah.
She left to the statue in the middle and then looked behind it, thinking since it was large, anyone could hide behind it. After her first expectation came up empty, she then looked behind the pillars around the courtyard. She looked out and saw the Great Lake from there and then the mountains beyond. She felt the cold breeze flow through her and snow clung to her hair and clothes.
She then looked at the last side of pillars and saw a snowman just sitting there.
"How would build a snowman "inside the walls?" She had asked herself, then it hit her.
Someone was behind that snowman, for it looked like it had been recently, for it wasn't melted at all. Not even a little lopsided.
She took out her wand and did the swish and flick of her wand, cast a spell to move the snowman.
"Wingardium Leviosa." She said.
The snowman floated away to reveal the one and only Jorah Moussa.
"Nice idea," She said "But not good enough."
